So my theory of the pegasi, is that they’re very small ponies. They’d have to be small and super light to be able to fly, and as such their bones would be hollow like a birds, and rather large chests home to large powerful lungs and muscles. They spend a lot of their time high in the sky, so they’d have super thick and waterproof (oily) fur to keep them warm and dry. To be able to stand on the clouds they’ve got rather large hooves for weight displacement. And tail feathers to help them balance and steer while flying.

Applejack is a big lady being based on a shire horse, and at the other end we have Bowtie who is particularly hairy due to being a shetland. Bubbles is still a foal and until she grows into them, she’s all legs.
