I'm going to leave tumblr today. I don't have the energy to keep coming here. I'll be uninstalling the app, but I'll leave my blog up for anyone who still likes my old posts.
Peace out, Tumblr; it was fun while it lasted.

People taking testosterone:
Hi! Wanted to share an important experience I had recently that I think you should know about, especially if youâre a fellow petite trans guy or similar!
I just got an awesome gynecologist who works with all sorts of people, including trans guys and such. She made me feel very safe, comfortable, and heard! One of the things she asked me during my visit was if I had anyone in my family who has/had Osteoporosis - a condition that makes your bones weak and brittle.
I had no idea why that would even matter, but both of my momâs parents did, and I found out later that my mom has Osteopenia (sort of a halfway point between healthy bones and Osteoporosis). My doctor nodded and then explained that since 1) Osteoporosis runs in my family, 2) I am a trans guy taking weekly testosterone, and 3) I am petite at 5â˛0âł and 100-110 lbs, I should get a bone density scan done. Huh??? Why???
Did you know that estrogen actually protects your bones by suppressing reabsorption of the bone itself?? It works with the osteoblasts needed to create new bone! She explained that those of us with smaller bodies naturally have less hormones, and thus less estrogen to begin with, and when you start taking testosterone for a long time, it stops the estrogen, which stops protecting your bones. Damn!!!!
Now, because studies on trans bodies, especially over long periods of time, are in a growing field, we become part of the data. Thereâs not a lot to read on the subject yet, just like the similarities between being on testosterone and going through menopause.Â
My doctor looked at me in all my confusion and said,Â
âI bring all this up because I have a couple of trans male patients who have developed Osteoporosis by the time theyâre 30.â
Let that sink in. (Iâm almost 26.)
The scan took all of 5 minutes, completely harmless, got to keep all my clothes on. A few days later and I get a result that my pelvic bones are fine, but that my spine has âMINOR Osteopeniaâ and that I should do the following things to prevent worsening:
Take Vitamin D3
Take Calcium (preferably with food, but supplements are okay too)
Do weight-bearing exercises (âIn regard to weightbearing exercises, we think the best is walking and/or running, hiking, and yoga. Swimming or biking is not recommended as a weightbearing exercise.â)
While this looks like a simple âeat better, get more sunshine, exercise more!â bit, (which I guess it sort of is??) itâs also⌠a little scary? Research on trans bodies has never before led me to this possible conclusion, and I wanted to make sure other people knew about this possibility as well, so they can ask their doctors questions to stay healthy!!
If for no other reason than spite, trans bodies have to keep living!!! STRONG BONES, LACTOSE INTOLERANCE BE DAMNED!!
you will also need vitamin k for calcium absorption which you can handily get by eating like a cup / 150g of cucumber. if youâre lactose intolerant you can get calcium fortified soya products & itâs also present in kale, okra and cucumber again but not in large amounts
Someone offhandedly saying âi hate menâ isnât automatically gender/biological essentialism or whatever, cuz hating the social structure of oppression and maltreatment (what is being implied most of the time) isnât the same as saying âmen being oppressors and having x y z bad trait is a natural innate aspect and there is nothing that can be done about itâ
Have some tact
Why are Batfam stans the most toxic motherfuckers in the DC fandom? I'm this đ¤ close to just blocking or unfollowing every person who stans Batman characters. I'm sick to death of all the bullshit.
I honestly don't care if some people on welfare are "cheating the system".
Rich people cheat the system for billions. Poor people cheat the system for thousands.
A rich person cheating the system is causing a million times as much of a drain on society as a poor person cheating the system.
So if something needs to be done about people cheating the system, let's start with the rich.
CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ABOUT BISEXUALITY
that purple in the middle is not the right saturation, it doesn't fit with the other two colors and it drives me crazy.
all right, I think I got this, I've got dual citizenship and I have another flag we can borrow from:
step 1
step 2
step 3
This is true bi/ace solidarity.
holy shit
The truth is most people think being disabled is a death sentence but instead of advocating for disabled people they r convinced that theyâll never become disabled as if being disabled is some biblical punishment. Guess what? Accidents happen. You will get old and your body will stop working like it used to. Imagine if we live in a world where disability is seen as normal. Where we actually take care of each other.
Also I donât think we have as many abled body people in the world as we think. I think many people are so terrified of being disabled that they r willing overwork themselves to prove they can do it. Many people deal with chronic pain and physical health issues in silence. Because they donât want to be burden. I think we should be burden to each other and i think labor should be shared.
I. Am. Disgusted. SIGNAL BOOST this!! This is unacceptable! We need to remember what pride is and what we stand for.
The gall of these people trying to call the cops on a black trans woman at the Stonewall Inn on the very anniversary of the riot (I'm sure they totally understood the irony of it) and then call her the fascist.
It's beyond parody. This is why I'm sick of Pride being treated as a corporate party rather than a protest and why we need to teach the history of our movement because this is either appalling ignorance or outright and open bigotry.

I have decided that I'm done trying to help people.
I'm done giving away my money, my time, and my energy to people who won't hesitate to stab me in the back or ignore me and all I've done for them.
I'm going to spend my money on myself, for once. I'm only going to lend my ear and shoulder to my closest friends, and not strangers. I'm going to spend my time doing things for me, and no one else.
I'm done trying to make people's lives better at my own expense.
Fuck every single one of you who has used me and then spat on me at your earliest convenience. I hope karma tears you apart.
people are absolutely EVIL about the boundaries of âpicky eatersâ. no, they do not have to try it. yes, they can know they donât like it without having eaten it before. no, they probably have not suddenly grown a taste for the food theyâve said they hate. no, they probably are not going to like it in the Special Way This One Place Cooks It. yes, you are being a bad friend if you try to âtrickâ them into eating it anyway
Things that actually help picky eaters try new things:
âDo you want to try this off of my plate?â
âItâs made of [ingredients], I think youâd like [x part]â
âIf you want to see if you like [x food], this is pretty good representation of itâ
âYou wonât like this, it tastes like [description]. Do you want to try it for fun?â
âDo you remember trying/have you ever tried [x food]? This is like that, but [differences]â
âI think youâd like the taste of this, but the texture is iffy. Itâs [description]â
Make sure thereâs other food they can eat if they donât like the new one
And most importantly, build trust with that person by listening to them, showing that you take their concerns into account, and being cool if the answer is no. No is always an option. This isnât something you do once, itâs a pattern you have to stick to if you want to establish that you are a safe person when it comes to food stuff
Basically: offer the food, explain whatâs in it and why you think itâs worth trying, and then be cool with the answer you get. No pressure, no trickery, just be straight up with people
recognize that itâs a natural human instinct to want to share both foods and experiences with your friends: and therefore, you have to engage your conscious brain and your sense of compassion to realize that eating two different meals together is fine, too, and your friends are always going to be getting their own experiences out of your shared time together anyway.
donât force your friends to experience things your way, even if you feel like thatâs going to be better for both of you. support them where theyâre at and youâll have a higher quality experience all around.
I barely remember what these people's personalities are but neither can their writers so I think this is canon.
Hello everyone! I wanted to share an app that has been immensely helpful for me. I struggle with self care A LOT. Like, you have no idea. I've tried so many ways to get a self care routine going, but none have helped me as much as this little app has.
It's called Finch Self Care, and in it, you raise a baby finch. It sounds silly, but this app lets you make a routine checklist of things to do each day for your self care, as well as provides inspirational quotes, private journals for reflection, and cute little outfits for your baby finch to wear. You can even add your friends in it and send them things like hugs, gratitude, stretch and water reminders, and more.
I was introduced to this app through my sister, who was introduced to it by her girlfriend. It has helped all three of us so far, and I think it could help some of you if you give it a try.
I've included a referral link on this post. If you use it, you get a free 600 rainbow stones to buy cute outfits for your baby finch. If any of you do download it, please message me! I'd love to add you as a friend!
Join Finch with my invite code E4TXVBTQ8B and get 600 Rainbow Stones! https://app.befinch.com/share/D6nZ

you have GOT to start acting like people online are also people
I get that its useful to refer to online spaces vs real life spaces, but fun fact, online is actually real life. Those are real people your talking to, who are going about their lives with families and jobs and obligations and commitments and opinions who happened to tap a keyboard a few times in your general direction.
