Been watching a lot of Doe Eyes. Also Lindsey’s someone I really want to be friends with.
Distractions
Here are some distractions that I use when I’m feeling impulsive:
Paint your nails.
Read a book.Â
Read a magazine.
Do some colouring in.
Do some drawing.
Watch your favourite DVD/TV show.
Call a friend.
Write to a friend.
Clean up.
Do some baking.
Cook a meal.
Go into town and look around the shops.
Have a nap.
Do some creative writing.
Journal about how you’re feeling.
Play online scrabble.
Light a candle and watch the flame.
Listen to your favourite music.
Listen to relaxing music.
Have a bubble bath.
Put on your favourite body lotion.
Have a hot/cold shower.
Play with your pets.
Go to the local library and find a book.
Download some new music.
Change the music on your Ipod.
Go for a walk.
Go out to a cafe and have your favourite drink.
Make a cup of tea/ coffee.
Do some mindfulness.
Watch funny videos.
Do some word games.
Go for a bike ride.
Sing.
Read a comic.
Call a hotline.
Take your medication.
Look at old pictures.
Look at pictures of cute animals.
Take the bus to somewhere new.
Look round charity shops.
Get into bed and hide under the covers.
Meet up with a friend.
Spend time with your family.
Get your haircut.
Add your own distractions and keep a list of them for when you’re not feeling your best :-)
