I don't get fandom sometimes. like, take the Murder Drones fandom, half of everyone there seems to have decided Cyn was actually a good person controlled by the Solver and it's-
Okay, 1) It ignores any agency Cyn has and invents a new character sharing her name and some of her quirks. 2) That's not even how canon treats them! While the Solver and Cyn are two separate entities, everyone involved (including the actual credits) refers to them as synonymous, because they basically are at that point. 3) The Solver never does anything like that ever again. Uzi doesn't become Cyn 2.0 (even after eating her), Nori didn't, Yeva didn't, hell even fucking Doll, who murders several innocent people, doesn't become like Cyn.
I don't get it. I like Cyn, and allegedly so do the people who do this, but if they really do like her, why would they ignore her canon personality to invent a new one stripped of her teeth?
If you want Cyn to be in a slice of life scenario you don't have to ignore her canon personality, you can just say that Uzi forced her to not murder and torture people or something.
If she doesn't have that underlying air of gleeful menace, then she isn't really the same character. Why not just make an OC at that point if you want?
Why can't Cyn just be evil?
