I have nearly 50,000 posts on my Tumblr blog which I have been running since 2011. It is literally impossible for me to sift through all of that for every single “problematic” post just for fear of some jerk dredging up something I said eight years ago.

And honestly? I shouldn’t anyway. You can literally make the opposite argument: that it’s wrong to hide your past. If we all keep pretending that ideological purity is possible and erasing the journeys we’ve gone though to learn from mistakes and become better, more educated people I feel like that does more harm than good.

Anyway, your attitude is victim blaming. We should not normalize a culture of fear where everyone is desperate to hide their flaws because someone might start a harassment campaign against them. The solution is ending that culture, not saddling people with the burden of dealing with it.

Yeah, I came to anarchism wanting to unlearn the things I’ve internalized people been traumatized into believing. My past opinions are like talking to last me’s; that night doesn’t exist anymore—I move differently, think differently, respond differently.

Political purity is predicated in liberal sense of morality, that good and evil are constants and that punishment through harassment, vilification, violence is the necessary and just reaction.

There is no room for forgiveness or healing, no room for the reality of change and transformation, no accommodations for any meaningful accountability, just reactionary anger; just false moral superiority complexes.

Like most people don’t like to admit this, but one of the reasons a lot of us have so many mental health issues is because we live in a world that has basically become untenable. People can’t afford basic necessities, let alone to cultivate their interests or take breaks and rest or do any of the things necessary for good mental health. People my age are wracked with debt, working at jobs they hate or studying topics they hate, living in a shitty apartment with five roommates. We live in a world that’s very hard to be healthy in. So while yeah, a lot of people obviously do have mental illnesses that would need medication no matter what, they are greatly exacerbated by these issues, and a lot of people have basically just been thrust into an eternal situational depression. So if that doesn’t change, medication is just a band-aid.

i visited an aquarium at some point, and our tour guide told that when the staff had a party, they put a little decorative plastic hat from a booze bottle into the sea urching tank, and just left it there because the sea urchins liked it, and kept taking turns in wearing it.

much of the interactions on the ship between unplugging neo and going back in

a lot of the talking with the oracle

cipher’s entire thing of hating being hunted and wanting to go back into blissful ignorance

the final fight scene in the movie, but especially the part where neo defeats the agent after saying “my name is neo”

literally any interaction where the agents call neo by his old name

the plot being a man realizing the world around him isn’t as it seems and adapting to it as agents try to kill him for daring to defy the system

and if you get rid of all that, what’s even left at that point? just a couple action scenes without much context

the way some of you interact with the anon function is totally irresponsible and has no consideration for the mental health and general happiness of the person receiving your asks and it's just so infuriating. you just shouldn't be sending people some of the extremely personal, uncomfortable and/or triggering statements some of you do without any kind of warning, and even sometimes with malicious intent, especially while completely removing any possibility of you being held accountable for them. and i know i can turn the ability to send anonymous asks off but i shouldn't have to. YOU need to learn to behave. if you wouldn't approach a stranger irl who has given you no reason to think it's something they want to or are capable of discussing and say it, you shouldn't say it to someone online. it's genuinely that simple.
