Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever.
Psalms 23:6
thinking that poor people shouldn't reproduce is in fact still eugenics
A righteous man's distress has never been holy/right/commendable. Every time a righteous man is in distress the command is to fear not, to be strong, to be courageous, to trust God and His workings. Surely if we were not under God then our distress would be justified. But we have been healed and set free by a good and righteous savior! The devil comes to steal to kill and to destroy . Fear of this earth or the powers of darkness that rein here will always lead to more fear. Satan does not reward but only torment his followers. But God? Jesus? He came to give life and give it ABUNDANTLY! Fear of Christ? Of God? Oh pure and blessed Savior, full of love! Full of grace! Fear of Him will not cast you out! Fear of God only causes Him to draw you in as a child! Undeserving as we are he loves us! And wants our reconciliation. He wants us to take refuge under His winges! Fear of the Almighty -far from casting us out from His presence (which we are more than deserving of that casting out!)-draws us in! He sees the poor the wretched the pitiful the blind the broken and naked and gives us treasures of infinite value, draws us into communion, raises us up, makes us to see, heals every wound and clothes of with clothes of His own righteousness! For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

God is good.
Sin is bad.
Our ability to even repent is a testament of God's love and grace towards us!
infidelity arcs make me want to cry. like my dude. you're MARRIED. what are you DOING. "but it's sooo dramatic! it's so angsty! it's so exciting because it's forbidden!" you know what ELSE it is? IT'S WRONG
"it's forbidden love đ„°"
Yeah, girl forbidden by God. Cease.
I have lost all interest in this character and am now actively rooting for them to lose and face consequences.
People who say "religion is about community" drive me a special kind of crazy, because while community is often a side benefit, it's not why I go to church. I go to church because Jesus died for me specifically and loves me specifically and that dictates how I live my life in just about every area. Yes, the friends I make are awesome, but it's not just a fun little thing between those people and I'm not leaving my religion at the door.
I think I love âO Come O Come Emmanuelâ because itâs precisely the right amount of yearning and hope. I tend to view it in one of two ways:
-Someone crying out to God for deliverance in the verses, and God reassuring them that their Deliverer is coming in the chorus
-Someone alternating between yearning to see salvation and Godâs glory, and rejoicing that they even have this hope that these things will come.
my mom is having surgery tomorrow if you could all pray for her
This is the Magnificat, which is the poem of Mary (mother of Jesus). This begins the divine reversal of the powerful and the powerless that results in the inversion of death central to the gospels.
