â If the meds were switched, then when I got them mixed up, I⊠I accidentally switched them back, so⊠I gave Harlan⊠â The correct doses, yes. But not accidentally.
KNIVES OUT (2019) dir. Rian Johnson
I love this moment, not just because of the twist, but also because Marta has been dying the whole movie with not only fear and grief, but guilt at having caused the death of her patient, her friend.
For Benoit to take the time to reassure that this was not her fault, in way that is so kind and so clear, was lovely.
âYou are a good nurse.â You can tell when he says that the he truly understands what is paining her the most. Just beautiful.
a whumper who keeps perfect records of their captive(s). photos, videos, audio recordings, files of notes and lists and letters the whumpee wrote that they thought might actually be delivered to their loved ones. the whumper loves this collection almost as much as the captive - the whumpee will one day fade away, but these recordings will live forever as a tribute to them. their pain will never end because itâs immortalized in stunning photgraphy, in high definition video. this is the whumperâs passion project.
a knife slowly, slooooowly pressed into the whumpee. whether theyâre restrained, drugged, half-conscious, or just too scared of retaliation to struggle, the whumpee is unable to stop the torture of being stabbed gradually. blood weeps from the wound, breaths catching and crashing together. a warm hand is pressed to their shoulder to keep them still, or to exert suffocating control.
Conversation Prompt
âHeâs been very attentive these last few days. Watching over me. Asking how I am.â
âYeah, because he cares about you.â
âI think heâs planning to kill me.â
âIâm bad,â the whumpee whispers. Their hand presses into their mouth as they curl in on themself, tears dripping down their face as the quiet wisp of their voice trembles and breaks. âIâm bad. Iâm bad, Iâm sorry. Please, Iâm sorry, Iâm bad-â
The caretaker freezes for a moment, hands hovering in the air, unsure whether to touch or not. âYouâre not bad. You havenât done anything wrong.â
A sob shakes the whumpeeâs shoulders, a raw and wounded sound. Their words are locked tight under their breath, but the whimpers that break them up are loud and agonizing. âNnnnn, Iâm sorry, I didnât-I couldnât, please-â
Unable to bear inaction, the caretaker wraps the whumpee up in their arms. The noise that the whumpee makes in response tears at them inside, Too much pain, too much hurt. âItâs okay. Youâre okay. You havenât done anything to apologize for, sweetheart. Youâre not in trouble.â
âIâm sorry,â they repeat again. They turn fully toward the caretaker, fingers clutching at their clothes, arms locking tight. They cling and shake and bury themself close as if their life depended on it.
The caretaker rubs their back, holding the whumpee as they weep incoherently into their shoulder. âShh,â they hush. âIâve got you. I got you.â
Character A is a bit of a party animal, but has decided to tone it down for this celebration because itâs in character Bâs honor/important for B in some way and they are determined to not mess this up for them.
The antagonist spikes Aâs drink, and A knows something is wrong and canât think of a plan further than âFind B, they will know what to do.â However, their motor skills are seriously impaired, so they end up taking out a major decoration/food table/something noticeable. B is mortified, and grabs Aâs arm and takes them to the side.
âYou told me you wouldnât do this, I canât believe you!â B hisses. A tries to explain, but their speech is so slurred that they canât get it out.
âGod, look at you! You know how important this is for me. I do so much for you, and you canât even be chill for one night.â
The antagonist come up, and offers to take A outside for some air, and A is desperately trying to tell B to not trust the antagonist but they just /canât/.
B thanks the antagonist and doesnât even suspect anything is wrong until they canât get ahold of A the next evening.

Iâm dead. The sounds he makes. I am dead.
Whumpee is so scared of the outside world that even the big space of a bedroom frightens them. The windows, the door- thereâs just so many places someone could come from to hurt them. Thereâs so much room after being locked away for so long that itâs terrifying.
So, for months whumpee and their partner sleep in the tiny closet in their room. Itâs the only place whumpee feels safe enough to sleep. Itâs the only place they feel safe in general- smooshed together with warm blankets and pillows, hidden from danger.
It wouldnât be that much of a problem if their partner wasnât a freakishly huge person. When they wake up in the morning and uncurl from the position theyâve been in all night to climb out of the closet, their whole body aches so bad but they donât say a word. Every night, they crawl back into the closet to scrunch up and try to sleep in pain because it makes whumpee feel safe and thatâs enough.
I love the scenario of a super frail, weak whumpee kept as a punching bag by a group of huge, physically strong whumpers.Â
Like⊠the hopelessness? They couldnât fight back even if they dared to, the whumpers enjoy knowing that their little stress ball is an easy target, and theyâre intentionally kept hungry and tired just to make it worse. In a scenario like that, all the whumpee can do is try to please the whumpers in the hopes theyâll go easy on them, because they know itâd only take a particularly savage punch to kill them.
oh goshâŠ. @whumpzone, the only thing better than this scenario isâŠa frail, weak (now thoroughly scarred and broken) whumpee being healed by a group of huge, physically strong caretakers.
the poor whumpee who is so traumatized by Big People that it doesnât matter that these people are kind because the whumpee is just so. fucking. terrified.Â
the whumpee who flinches whenever a caretaker moves even a little bit too quickly, shuddering under even the gentlest touches, just waiting for those hands to turn cruel and violent. justâŠlarge hands stroking hair back from a sweaty forehead, rubbing a trembling back, gripping arms with a firm but tender grip to raise a groveling whumpee up from kneeling because the sweet thing shouldnât be on the ground in their condition!
speaking of kneeling - the whumpee who is scared even when they kneel because theyâre that much closer to those heavy feet and powerful legs that could thunder down upon them and just crush them so easily. they know from experience that just a single kick could crack their ribs, shatter their jaw, snap their nose - they arenât safe on the ground.Â
barely able to speak if they are in a room with more than one caretaker and if they all assemble around whumpee, you know that poor thing is on the floor, curled up and bracing for impact, possibly pleading (even if they donât think it will do any good).Â
large caretakers who might be gruff or quiet and their silence is as terrifying as shouting to the whumpee because the caretaker just towers and looms, like a fairytale monster.Â
justâŠlarge caretakers having to grapple with the trauma of a whumpee who associates size - and numbers  - with horrible pain :(((
THE BEST
theyre not even safe on the floor omg :((( no matter what they do they feel vulnerable :(
every time a caretaker is trying to heal an injury and says something about how small or badly injured they are the whumpee just whimpers because yes, they know, they wonât ever try to run they promise, they know theyâre too weak to ever try to escape
OR better yet they do try to escape and naturally the caretakers catch up to them and haul them back and it breaks their heart because the whumpee is sobbing hysterically and begging for mercy and the caretakers just canât get through to them :(
the silent gruff strong caretaker is my shit!!!!! just looming over the whumpee, staring at them, and the whumpee is sure that theyâre planning out exactly how to torture them. Until finally the whumpee cracks and crawls over to the caretakers feet, offering themselves up in the hopes that theyâll just get it over with
ahhhhh!! good goshâŠYES @whumpzone.
i am having explosions of whumperflies over the caretakers having to catch the poor whumpee and bring them back :((( how terrifying!!!Â
perhaps the whumpee initially fights for their life against the caretakers, who get all bruised and scratched up in the process (but theyâre so much bigger and stronger than whumpee that in whumpeeâs weakened state, it really is not challenge, theyâre just being careful not to accidentally harm whumpee when trying to restrain them).
eventually the caretakers manage to subdue whumpee who goes limp, perhaps even sedated or tied up, eyes darting, looking like a wounded wild animal and perhaps thatâs when they start to beg. the terror wins out over their pride and they just⊠surrender. knowing they are going to be *broken* for their defiance. perhaps even screaming at the caretakerâs to get it over withâŠ
if the whumpee is feverish, half-delirious, when they try to run, their terror is even more potent because they hallucinate that they are back with the whumpers. perhaps a caretaker had to scoop whumpee into their arms to carry them back home and the whumpee curled up against the massive warm body, shaking so hard, weeping softly in between babbled pleas.Â
perhaps - if the whumpee isnât completely jaded - curling their fingers in the shirt of the caretaker holding them because perhaps this is a caretaker that whumpee has warmed too and who they pray might offer them shelter, some mercy. offering up soft, tremulous, barely-
perhaps the whumpee took advantage of the connection between themself and this particular caretaker in order to escape and now the whumpee is terrified of revenge, that this caretaker wants the whumpee all to themselves to teach whumpee a lessonâŠÂ
also!!! with gruff caretakers,,,what happens if the whumpee fucks up? what if they break something, a bowl or cup slipping from the whumpeeâs weak grasp and shattering on the floor? how will the gruff caretaker handle it?Â
alsoâŠ.we didnât discussâŠthe non-con possibilities⊠the small fragile whumpeeâŠterrified of huge caretakersâŠ.and possibly offering themself up? *eyes*
my language⊠itâs being spokenâŠ
knowing they are going to be *broken* for their defiance.Â
Oh my GOD. this line alone gave me whumperflies. The whumpee begging for it to be over quickly, knowing deep down that their caretakers whumpers are going to make this slow and painful
Maybe the caretaker theyâve latched onto reminds them of someone, they can barely gather the memories now but they are sure that they once knew someone like the caretaker who was sweet and gentle⊠so although theyâre still terrified of everyone else, with this one they dare to hope that maybe theyâll be shown kindness
I LOVE the idea of a gruff caretaker finding whumpee curled up in a corner, trembling, and the caretaker holds out a sharp of a broken bowl and asks plainly ââdid you do this?ââÂ
Which of course is enough to have the whumpee go glassy-eyed, folding in on themselves, begging for forgiveness as they take their shirt off and kneel with their back exposed for the caretaker to whip until theyâre bloody..
and mmhpphffhhf the whumpee offering themselves to the caretakers is so SO good. theyâre so used to being used as a toy that when the caretakers lead them into their new bedroom, the whumpee immediately sees the bed and goes limp, thanking the caretakers for the food and warmth, of course theyâll please them, theyâre good, theyâre good, theyâll be whatever the caretakers want them to be
oh, this is all so good!! @newbornwhumperfly @whumpzone i eat up stuff like this with a spoon so for further consideration:
the caretakers seeing the whumpeeâs scars and being horrified at the extent of the abuse. the poor, confused whumpee misreading this as disgust and going out of their way to prove that theyâre not broken, they can still be used.
the whumpee seeing gifts or even basic kindnesses such as a meal or a nightâs rest as something to be earned. kneeling down in front of the caretakers, offering up their small, fragile, battered form for punishment with huge, fearful eyes. being bewildered and even more scared when the caretakers refuse to hurt them, because that just means something worse is coming even later. nice things arenât just given, not to them.
when one of the caretakers loses their temper over somethingâtheyâre not angry at the whumpeeâbut the whumpee hears them shouting or sees a look on their face and they just know. the whumpee going and hiding in the quietest, smallest corner available, trembling as they wait for the caretakerâs anger to turn on them. or worse, falling to the ground in front of the caretaker, eyes glassy, begging for mercy, theyâll be good, theyâll be so good, they promise, pleaseâ
the whumpee being forcibly held or cuddled by the whumpers for various reasons, and learning not to resist or pull away. after theyâre rescued, they lean into touches, no matter how scared they are, because if the caretakers see they like being touched they wonât be angry or get rid of them.
âwhumpee seeing gifts as something to be earnedâ is my fkn JAM!!
the whumpee has been so heavily conditioned and had it beaten into them that theyâre barely even a person, they donât deserve any kindness, they just exist to be used and hurt
justâŠ. any instance of a rescued whumpee pleading that theyâll be good, they know how to behave, theyâll be so good they promise⊠instant whumperflies
the caretaker seeing the whumpeeâs scars and the whumpee thinks theyâre disgusted with them so they insist theyâll be good, they know who their owners are now, they wonât let anyone handle their owners property they swear, only their owners can hurt them now
aagh, i love this so much @whumpzone you donât even know :) this post gave me so many whumperflies so here are some for youâŠ
you mentioned the whumpee thinking they have no purpose in life but to be used and hurt and i â what if one of the caretakers ends up in trouble somehow, and the whumpee decides to sacrifice themself to save them? going to the whumper, pleading in a small voice with downcast eyes âyou can do anything you want to me, i wonât fight, iâll be good, i promise, justâŠplease, please let them goâ. the caretaker returning home scot free and wondering how they got away that easy. several hours later the whumpee limps in and sneaks a glance at the caretakers laughing and joking around the table, and in spite of the bruises on their body and the fact that it hurts to breathe, they manage a small smile anyway, because theyâve been useful.
just. the whumpee shrinking back as they are hassled by a stranger, maybe pushed and shoved and called demeaning names. that awful feeling of fear and helplessness, knowing no one will stand up for someone like them. their shock, when one of the caretakers appears and stands between them and the whumper, using their large frame as a shield while their words spit venom, warning the whumper to back off, now. the whumpee tentatively curling their fingers in the back of the caretakerâs jacket, wondering at this strange warm feeling of safety that spreads through them.
more angst?? the caretakers who rescue the whumpee are in a pretty dangerous situation themselves, and as such, they have to pretend to treat the whumpee roughly when theyâre around others. shoving them, slapping them, barking orders and joking about how theyâre going to punish the whumpee in private. itâs only when theyâre alone that the caretakers allow their soft sides to come out, but it doesnât have much of an impact on the whumpee, who is too terrified to let their guard down even for a moment. perhaps one of the caretakers (*cough* secret whumper *cough*) enjoys the âgameâ a little too much and starts taking the subterfuge further, hurting and humiliating the whumpee in public and when theyâre alone.
the whumpee being severely touch-starved but not knowing how to ask for affection because creatures like them donât deserve it. they watch the caretakers being all affectionate with each other and secretly replicate their actions when alone, hugging themself and rocking themself back and forth. sometimes the ache of loneliness in their chest gets so bad they almost cry, but they hastily blink the tears away and force themselves to smile. one of the caretakers being more openly affectionate than others and giving the whumpee little pats on the head or squeezing their shoulder and telling them theyâve done a good job. the whumpee treasuring every word and touch and working twice as hard just to earn that little bit of kindness.
the trope of caretakers having to âplay alongâ and hurt the whumpee is one of my favs ever !! it takes sooo long for the whumpee to learn to trust the caretakers after theyâve seen what they could do to them :(((
Catch me over here salivating at this whole thread.Â
the whumpee being severely touch-starved but not knowing how to ask for affection because creatures like them donât deserve it.
Oh my god, my heart can not take that and this-
perhaps one of the caretakers (*cough* secret whumper *cough*) enjoys the âgameâ a little too much and starts taking the subterfuge further, hurting and humiliating the whumpee in public and when theyâre alone.
Thatâs so sad because of course the whumpee wouldnât tell anyone. If any of their other caretakers found out, the secret whumper would be gone in a second but whumpee wonât say anything. Theyâre too scared of getting into trouble or even worse, they like it. Of course, theyâre terrified of the whumper and they donât like being hurt but when the whumper leads them into their room to hurt them and use them, at least they know what to do!
Everything has been so confusing since they were recused. Theyâre never useful anymore. Theyâre never used. They donât even know what to do with themself but when the whumper uses them, it soothes a part of whumpeeâs soul thatâs been torn ever since they were saved - even though it hurts so bad, even though theyâre so scared every time.
When theyâre being hurt it just feels right, so of course they wonât tell anyone and the whumper knows it.

Go on then :)
I am thinking about a whumpee being betrayed by someone they trusted with their life. The whumpee, tied up ang gagged, kneeling on the ground as the person they previously looked up to is bargaining with an unknown person.
"Look at them! They are so young and pretty, they are worth at least double than that!"
"They are indeed pretty... But they have fire in their eyes, breaking them will be a hassle... I thought you were going to sell them only after you finished working with them. You are giving me an unfinished product"
The whumpee wants to scream, but only muffled sounds escape the gag and two pairs of eyes finally seem to percieve him as more than a part of the scenery.
The whumpee takes in those gazes, and he immediately regrets every single sound he made.

I love this kind of thing, someday I'll write it

Whumpee in their whumperâs lap, their hair being stroked languidly, their eyes half-lidded. Theyâre held loose in their arms. The whumperâs breath warms their neck in soft puffs. Gentle violences like this donât come very often.
Possessive Whumper - 3
requested by @starnight-whump and several anons
continued from here
Whumpee whimpered, trying to push back from Caretaker, but Caretaker's grip only tightened as they glared at Whumper in the doorway.
"Move," they said in a low voice. "I'm getting Whumpee out of here."
Whumper smirked. "I don't think you are. What you're going to do, is set my dear Whumpee down and then you are going to get punished for touching something that doesn't belong to you."
Whumpee sobbed, squirming, wanting nothing more than to be able to crawl to the ground and beg for Whumper's forgiveness.
"Please," they whispered. "They- they don't know any better. Let them go. You know you want me. You don't want them. Punish me instead." Their eyes widened in sincerity and fear.
Whumper took a long look at them before shaking their head. "No, I would never dare to harm you, dear. Especially now when they're the one who's in the wrong here." Their eyes cut back over to Caretaker, whose strength was slowly fading.
With a sigh, they carefully set Whumpee down on the floor, where they immediately crumpled into a kneeling position. Caretaker took a slow step away from them, raising their hands slightly. "Just don't hurt them," they said.
Whumper laughed, quickly crossing the room. "I wouldn't dream of it." They brushed a gentle hand over Whumpee's head, and Whumpee felt a flicker of shame through them as they leaned into the touch. "You, however. I can't decide whether to whip you into I see bone, or until you pass out. What do you think, dear?"
Whumpee bit their lip, stifling a sob. "Please," they begged. "Let them go. They didn't know any better. I- I'm good for you, I'll be good for you. Just let them go."
Whumper cupped their cheek softly, stroking their thumb over Whumpee's protruding cheek bones, thinking. Then they delivered a quick slap that had Whumpee gasping, tears springing into their eyes. "No, I don't think I will. This is as much a punishment for you as it is for them."
They stepped back, heading back towards the doorway. "Come along, you two. There's no time to waste." Caretaker and Whumpee had no choice but to follow.
