imagine having your own personal hater who's been assigned to you by fate and he is a tiny little clown who won't stop following you around and yammering about your imminent demise and worst of all you love him dearly
đą for Kauri Jake and Antoni? I absolutely relate so much to Antâs feelings regarding physical touch both platonic and sexual. Just interested to see what you would come up with! Obviously if youâre not comfortable with that then a comf piece would be amazing đ„șâ€ïž
(the prompt was a 3-or-moresome. Antoni isn't going to be about that, so I am choosing the comf option! @winedark-whump asked how Kauri would handle being stuck in an elevator...)
The doors open only with the maintenance man and the firefighter each pulling with their full strength at a side. The doors shriek in protest, separating inch by inch.
Antoni expects Kauri to come barreling out, but he doesn't. Instead, Antoni has to look down to realize where he even inside the small square.
Kauri lays on his side, his wild curls against cheap scratchy carpeting, his hands pressed palms against his closed eyes. Hitching breaths are shallow, hardly gasps, and the maintenance man doesn't know what he's looking at but Antoni does.
He thinks the firefighter maybe does, too, by the way his jaw tightens at the sight.
"Shit, it was only a couple hours," The maintenance man says, looking stricken. "Got it open as fast as I could."
"He fears to be closed in," Antoni says by way of explanation. The firefighter meets his eyes, briefly, with a depth of understanding that makes Antoni grateful for his silence but uneasy, too.
He steps forward, feeling the very slight dip under his feet as it accepts his weight. "Kasha? The door is open now. Let's go."
Kauri doesn't move.
"Kasha?" When Antoni crouches next to him, he can hear Kauri's whispers, thick around the tears. He reaches out and his palm rounds over the curve of Kauri's shoulder. It trembles under his touch.
"I hate the light, I h-hate, hate being alone in the light, I hate it, alone, alone in th-the light..." Kauri's voice is more whimper than whisper, really. A frightened animal. "I can't, I didn't do anything, I didn't, I was good I was good I was good-"
"Sssshhhh. I have you." Despite his prickling awareness of the watching men and his fear of what they might understand from Kauri's state, his terrified words, he doesn't try to force Kauri up. He leans forward and presses his hands over Kauri's. Lets him feel the warmth of human touch.
Kauri sobs, a broken sound that comes from so deep within him that Antoni wonders if it is Kauri that cries at all, or the remnants of Liam Harker finally making themselves fully known. Was Liam Harker frightened of small spaces? Or did that only begin when he had been wiped away?
"I have you," Antoni repeats, leaning over and pressing a kiss to his head. The florescents overhead buzz softly, all too familiar. The little box is cold - the heat isn't working in here. The walls of the elevator are a plain, flat white.
"I'm good, I'm good, I'm-... I'm good, I promise, I promise..."
"I know," He soothes, shifting to rub a hand up and down Kauri's back. His muscles shake under Antoni's light touch, and he finally leans fully over him, laying his body and his weight against Kauri's slight frame.
Kauri's shaking slows, and so does his crying. He keeps breathing in those shaking, shallow inhales, but some of the painful tension seems to break in him. He shifts, turning over onto his back and throwing his arms around Antoni's neck, weeping against his T-shirt. At first, it's a relief, until he hears Kauri cry, "I'm so sorry, I'll be good, don't leave me alone, please, please-"
"I will not. I will not leave you. I have you, Kasha, I have you..."
The fireman clears his throat, and Antoni looks up to see him speaking in a low voice to the maintenance man. Both of them look away when they see Antoni watching them.
He hopes to give them privacy. He worries it might be for other reasons.
He has to hold Kauri to get him to stand, pulling himself upright with Kauri's arms still tight around his neck. He feels half-choked but doesn't dare try to get him to let go. His skin prickles.
Then Kauri's legs wrap around him, ankles crossed, and he grunts, nearly falling himself before he manages to get his hands under Kauri's ass and thighs to hold him up. He's still weeping against Antoni's shoulders.
Antoni arms ache almost immediately, and he leans back against a wall, panting. But then...
"I've got him," Jake says, and he shifts Kauri from one set of arms to the next with an ease that shows just what all his working out has done for him - the muscles to hold a grown man like he weighs nothing.
"Jasha." For a second, Jake is holding them both, and Antoni closes his eyes. But then there is space between them again, and his breath comes easier, he feels the prickling of his skin start to fade. "The elevator broke-"
"Yeah, I saw the text. I'm sorry it took me so long, I was helping Krista out with a doctor visit." Kauri looks even smaller in Jake's arms, and buries himself against his bulk and warmth. "Let me take you both home. We'll come back for the car once Kauri's okay, yeah?"
Antoni nods, swallowing. He looks over to the fireman and maintenance man.
"Hey, look, we didn't see shit, okay?" The maintenance man offers, a little awkwardly. "I'll erase the security tapes."
The fireman nods. "Empty elevator. Good thing, too."
"Thanks," Jake says with real sincerity, and he moves back out through the empty lobby, Kauri in his arms, Antoni trailing behind him. Kauri still looks like a string pulled tight, about to snap. "You okay, Ant?"
"Yeah... Yeah. I mean, I am not, but..." Antoni sighs, taking a hand back through his messy hair. "Once our Kasha is, I will be."
Carlo â€ïž pls do you have a little snippit of him and how heâs doing?
I donât anon but I have an AU snippet where heâs an outcast angel (like of the cartoonish halo and wings variety) thatâs been tortured by demons until one takes pity on him
Demon!Max cutting a matted chunk of fallen angel Carloâs hair off his head with shears:
â
Carlo kept his head tucked down, his gaze on the floor a few feet in front of him rather than the mirror he was sat in front of. The demon assessed the blood-matted, ruined sections of his hair. It wasnât easy to be in the proximity of those black eyes, the vibrations of bad and wrong that emanated from all demons like a foul cologne. Even humans felt unsettled in their presence. The short black horns they grew from the tops of their skulls looked instinctually dangerous to him, like a certain shine on the back of a venomous spider. ïżŒ
His halo thrummed painfully. He tried not to flinch as silver shears came close to the side of his head. What was stopping this demon taking a piece of his ear, for fun? Would he decide to nick his neck? They loved nothing more than to spill angel blood. It had always been this way. An eye for an eye for an eye, forever.
Knuckles brushed the side of his head, angling the shears forty five degrees and tilting up to cut out the sticky, bloody mess there. Heâd have a chunk of hair missing for months, but agreed there was no getting the mats out without also disturbing his bruised and violated halo. That was a much worse prospect to him than having some hair cut away.
The points of the shears were still so agonizingly close, centimeters from the sensitive ring of light that sat close to the crown of his head. The shimmering oval of light contained more nerve endings than the rest of his body combined. The idea of more demon hands touching it made him quake, let alone a pair of sharpened shears. An angels halo was an arteryâ as inextricable from him as a humanâs beating heart.
âYou can close your eyes if itâs easier,â said the demon that called himself Max. Carlo realized heâd lifted his head and been watching intently in the mirror, his entire body tense, his broken and shredded wings aching fiercely. The shears made their first snip, and only hair was severed between the blades. He exhaled. What could he do, even if the demon decided to hurt him despite his promise not to? He was a powerless as a mortal here. And what good to him was a demonâs promise, since they were interested in nothing but deceit? The father of lies has many offspring, and the apples do not fall far from their tree. He closed his eyes at the demonâs behest. It was worse to watch.
Another snip. He flinched. Hair tickled his neck as it fell away.
âI wonât touch it,â the demon said gently. Carlo knew he meant his halo. His skin raised in goosebumps from the acknowledgement alone.
Of course the demon knew how vulnerable a halo was. They all did. âIâm almost done. Stay very still for me for this one.â
He didnât dare breathe. After a few agonizing seconds he heard another snip of the shears and then a solid clatter as the demon set down the heavy instrument. Fingers raked through Carloâs hair, gentler than a comb, as if covering the deficit with some of his other curls.
âItâs not so bad. Itâll grow back sooner than you know it.â
Carlo opened his eyes. He caught a soft expression on the demons face in the mirror before it changed back to neutral, as if heâd been looking at him fondly for a moment while his eyes were closed.
âThank you,â he managed. He should say thank you, shouldnât he? He didnât know why a demon would bother with any of this, but he was stuck here and so far it had somehow been better than when heâd been stuck out there.
âIf only those wings of yours were such an easy fix,â the demon said mildly, touching his shoulder as he turned away. âItâs like trying to mend spiderwebs.â
Did you know you can bind an angels wings in cloth or ropes, and it really helps them understand their place. They might think they belong in the skies and the high heavens, but a few weeks or months or years with their wings bound will help them learn, they belong with you.
Itâs actually really good for them, even if they protest and cry and struggle. They just donât know whatâs best.
Take care of your angels by binding their wings, really pull those bindings tight. Until their jaw is tense as they try and tough out the pain. If you hear a pop, thatâs fine, you can fix that later. What matters is teaching your angel their place
Fitz: no NOT as they were before, gET IT TOGRTHER CHADE, FUCKING HELL DON'T YOU REMEMBER IN EXQUISITE AND INTENSE DETAIL THE SPECIFIC COLOUR, SHADE, TONE AND ESSENCE OF THE FOOL'S EYES?????????????????
The theme of the competition was "Symbiosis", aaand I did a fan-animation of Fitz and the Foul đ«Łđ
I told my friends but the public and the jury don't know.
Brooo FxF WON !!
(I will probably delete this post in a few weeks after I take the time to polish the animation, I'm not satisfied with it right now, I was running late)
Rules were :
- No more than 30 sec (oupsy)
- To animate a transformation/fusion
- and we need to attribute a colour to each character
When I started putting the first version together last year, I never thought it would become an obsession and I would spend hours comparing wall patterns or searching for a non-existent street. But now I have the dubious privilege of being able to match almost every scene from S2 to where it was filmed (except for a few from episode 1, Emilia's village, where are you).
Season 2 was filmed mostly in and around Prague, mainly in the film studio at Barrandov and in TouĆĄeĆ. In addition to that, they spent about two weeks in Paris and one shooting day in New Orleans.
Barrandov Studio â Atelier 8 / Paris Street backlot
The sets built inside the atelier were short-lived, but the outdoor backlot has been preserved and is used for other projects. Due to the studio's workload, it no longer offers public tours. But hopefully the situation will change in the future (x), (x).
The production also rented some other locations for longer periods of time. ToÄnĂk and its surroundings were used mainly for episode 1 (scenes with Daciana, the revenant in the forest), but also for episode 3 (Armand's coven in 1795). You can visit the castle.
They used the Old wastewater treatment plant in BubeneÄ several times (all the scenes in the tunnels and sewers, Magnus's tower, Louis and Claudia's baboon argument, etc.). It is possible to book a tour there.
More than one scene was also filmed in Kinsky Garden (the bench in the rain, Louis and Dreamstat, Louis and Armand's first meeting).
For the rest of the locations, check out the map.

Event Info & Rules
WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation challenge (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are 31 official themes this year - one for each day of the month - which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way youâd like. They are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you donât have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is âflame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an âold flameâ - an old relationship. Itâs truly down to you!
In total, there are 4 prompts for each day. These are optional suggestions and can be used in conjunction with the theme, or as options/alternatives. We want to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible, as well as increase event accessibility for folks with triggers and squicks. There is also a list of 15 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day, again to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.
Creators can PRODUCE work in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). Creators can PARTICIPATE as much or as little as they want (i.e. you donât have to do ALL the prompts if you donât want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.
When uploading Whumptober content to your blog, be sure to tag it with:

#your own tags go here
PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING. Only properly tagged posts are considered for archiving on the official @whumptober-archive blog. They must be tagged in the order above. An elaborate post about our tagging system can be found [here]
Unfortunately, due to the sheer number of participants in recent years, we cannot guarantee your work will be archived. A random selection of properly tagged posts from all genres will be reblogged each day.
Whumpers who produce content for 31 total theme days are considered event completionists and will be tagged in a masterpost at the end of the month. A form will be published at the beginning of November asking you to tell us if you completed. This is based on trust and we will not check this.
Frequently Asked Questions
Please read this before you send an ask!
TIMELINE
July: Trope voting form released.
Late August: Prompt list is released for at least four weeks of preparation time. Tropes cannot be posted earlier than August 25th because of Moderator obligations in real life. (But, you know, go ahead and start writing/drawing, and add the themes in later, if you want!)
September: Do as much or as little on your works as you want. You can prepare everything in advance or let September go by with vibes and start working in October. Itâs up to you.
October 1st: Challenge begins! A storm of whump breaks upon us all! During this time, some posts will be reblogged to the whumptober archive blog. We open the yearly AO3 collection for posting (optional).
November 1st: The challenge is officially over! Completionist form opens for those who want to be included in the hall-of-fame.
Early November: We release completionist and participant badges, solicit feedback, and post a hall-of-fame list of completionists by the 10th.
PARTICIPATION AND COMPLETION
Q: What counts as participation?
Create or continue at least one work inspired by one of this yearâs prompts.
Q: What counts as completion?
Creating work(s) inspired by at least one prompt from each day (or alts), for a total of 31 unique prompts.
Q: Do I need to create 31 works?
No. You can, if you want. Or you can create one work that you add to every day with a new prompt. Or several works that combine prompts. You can also update an existing work by adding new material with the current prompts.
Q: Do I need to post my works somewhere to be a completionist or a participant?
No.
Q: How do you know I actually completed the challenge?
Weâll take your word for it!
Q: Do I have to finish my work(s) to be a completionist?
No, you can post WIPs. And youâre not obligated to finish them in October, but if you want it to count towards being a completionist, you must have completed 31 prompts by the end of the month. So for example, if youâre writing a long fic and you fit 31 different prompts into the writing you did in October, itâs okay if that fic isnât finished by the time October ends, youâll still be a completionist.
Q: Is co-writing/illustrating allowed?
Yes, absolutely, and it would count towards being a completionist for both/all of you.
Q: Is there a min/max limit on word count for written works?
No.
Q: Is there a min/max limit of quality for art?
No.
Q: Do I have to do something each day to be a completionist?
No. You can skip days whenever you want, and as long as 31 daily prompts (or alts) are in your works done in October, you can be a completionist. For example, if you wrote a 1000-word ficlet that covers prompts in days 2, 3, and 17, you can check all three days off your list even though itâs only one work.
Q: Is this challenge just for fics?
No! Artworks, GIFsets, headcannons, rec lists, poetry, moodboards, or any other creative work is encouraged.
Q: Can I combine Whumptober with other creation challenges?
Absolutely, as long as the other challenges allow it too.
PROMPTS
Q: How do the prompts work?
There are FOUR prompts per day: a theme and three ideas. You can use one, two, three, or all four prompts for each day. If you donât like any of the daily prompts, you can substitute one of the ALT prompts instead.
Q: How strictly/literally should we interpret the prompts?
As literally or as figuratively as you want. For example, if the theme is WATER, that could mean drowning, waterboarding, raining, swimming, take place underwater, be lost at sea, construct a metaphor about a characterâs mood that changes like a flowing river, crying, or whatever else you can think of that fits that theme.
Q: Can I combine prompts? Is there a limit on how many?
No limit and combine as many as youâd like. If you create a work that checks off multiple prompts, that work will count for a fill of multiple prompts. You need to address 31 different prompts to be an official completionist, but you donât have to produce 31 separate works.
WORKS
Q: Whatâs whump?
Hurting a character, whether thatâs physically, emotionally, intellectually, psychologically, or any other way you can think of. Comfort afterwards is optional. Angst is emotional whump, so it counts.
Q: How do I know if itâs whumpy enough?
If your character is just mildly inconvenienced, it probably needs more whump. However, no participant has to prove whumpiness to the mods. Whatever you write is up to you.
Q: What kind of characters can I create for?
Anything. Generic âwhumpee,â OC, PC, NPC, major characters, minor characters, or whatever you want. There are no limits.
Q: Does it have to take place in a specific fandom?
No, you can create works for your own worlds or for fandoms or for both. You can also create more generic or pan-fandom works. You can do cross-overs or use OCs, whatever you want.
Q: Can I create AI-created works?
We will not reblog or promote any works we know to be generative AI-created.
Q: Is there anything weâre not allowed to write?
As long as it contains whump and is based on our prompts, itâs fine. Please courtesy tag your works if you post them so people who follow the #whumptober2024 tag can filter according to their preferences.
Q: What about sex, minor characters, and potentially disturbing content?
You can create whatever works are legal in your country and post them accordingly. Please courtesy tag anything you think might be objectionable if you post to Tumblr so people who follow the #whumptober2024 tag can filter according to their preferences.
POSTING
Q: Where can I post my work?
Post where and how you want. You donât even have to (cross)post it to Tumblr. Just keep in mind if itâs not on Tumblr we will not be able to add it to the blog archive. There is an AO3 archive for Whumptober 2024, as well as the parent collection for works completed outside of the event.
Q: Can I start posting early?
You can, but this is an October event and wouldnât it be more fun with everyone doing it at the same time? We wonât be reblogging any work predating October 1st.
Q: Can I post late?
Yes. For the sake of our hardworking Post Fairies, only a dayâs themes will be reblogged to @whumptober-archive each day of October. But you can post whenever. Some of us are still working on and posting Whumptober fics from years ago.
Q: Do I have to use your tags?
Only on Tumblr and only if you want us to reblog your work on @whumptober-archive.
Q: How do I have my works reblogged to the archive?
Properly tagged posts will be reblogged to @whumptober-archive. If you want the official archive blog to reblog you, post on Tumblr and tag correctly (see this FAQ link for more info on tagging). Please note not all posts will be reblogged each day.
Q: Can we @ you?
For questions and comments, of course. Weâll be getting a flood of notifications, so if you really want us to see something send an ask.
Q: Can I cross post on other blogs?
Yes, multiple platforms and blogs are perfectly acceptable, as long as they allow cross-posting (to us). You can also post different works to different accounts under different names, without posting them everywhere at once. If you post some works under your main and others under an alt blog, thatâs fine for completionist purposes.
Q: Can I upload/repost my Whumptober content to other social media platforms?
Of course! Weâve created an AO3 Collection to archive any fics posted there, which can be found here. The blog is the official archive, so please respect the personal boundaries of any whumpers in your social circle (donât out anyone as a participant who would prefer not to be outed).
Most importantly, have fun, create, and enjoy all the whump posted this October!
