Hogwarts AU
You open your eyes a little when it gets darker, and see the bottom of Mrs. Pomfreyâs gray robes. You look up in enough time to take the water and pills from her, and swallow your medication while trying not to move your head too much.
Youâre going to develop a notification beeper that warns you if Sollux gets into another episode like this, because this is the second time that he wouldâve been completely alone if you didnât just happen to volunteer yourself into bringing him there.
You help Madam Pomfrey by sitting next to Sollux and steadying him better as she puts the cool compress on the back of his neck.
You shiver (shudder?) when the compress hits your neck, and then youâre⊠Not fine. But definitely a lot better. Youâre so relieved, you could probably cry if you tried. (But that could also be because of the pain.)
Your arm goes to loop around his waist instead so she has more room to comfortably put the compress there. She sits there in silence for a few moments to make sure that Sollux is getting better, but then her only other patient in another bed comes back to consciousness and she goes to hush them and check on them for a concussion after trying a little too hard in flying practice.
You try to tell Dave that youâre fine and he should go to class, but it comes out all mumbly, sounding like sentence fragments. You lean forward so your head is resting on your knees, and wish you could fold away into nothing so you wouldnât have to feel pain anymore.
You rub his back gently, looking towards Madam Pomfrey almost desperately as Sollux folds himself in half. You want him to stop feeling bad, but you donât know how to make that happen.
Itâs easier to think with your eyes shaded and a cold compress an your spine. You finally get out the words, âYou can go two cla22. II diidnât mean two keep you.â He has his own education to work on. Youâll just do a bunch of homework and classwork tomorrow and youâll do alright.
