Currently re-listening to Beth's Theme from the Broadchurch soundtrack, and it's fascinating to me how Olafur Arnalds arranged it. It's so simple, a duet between piano (Beth's theme) and strings (Danny's theme), and yet both instruments are so crucial to make the song as impactful as it is. Separated, they're not nearly as emotional. Together, they make you want to weep. I suppose that matches the relationship between Beth and Danny, though: intrinsically linked, and emptier without the other.
