it doesn’t matter how good you’re doing, those sad nights will creep up on you from time to time and that’s ok. doesn’t mean all your progress is gone
“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself.”
— Paulo Coelho
“I’m so grateful the Bible doesn’t hide the failures of those who were used in mighty ways. The people God chose struggled with sin and the hardships of life. And yet even through their imperfections our mighty God did amazing things.”
— (via takeheartdaughter)

“I wanted to be remembered as someone who gives joy and hope to everyone around me.”
— douleurn
“Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart one who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them..”
— Marvin J. Ashton (via naturaekos)
“You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It wont happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life.”
— Joel Osteen, Your Best Life Now: 7 Steps to Living at Your Full Potential (via thelovejournals)
“Christians are the last people who should ever become offended, resentful, envious, or unforgiving.”
— John MacArthur
Good word. So what does God require of me. Micah 6:18 msg
Kill your sin or it will kill you
Or just let it be as most “sin” is just normal behaviour.
It shouldn’t be, friend! The default behavior was righteousness and affection towards God, an intimate walking with the creator of the universe! And then Adam sinned, throwing us into a cycle of sin that grows darker and darker the further we get from the fall. You could have that righteous affection again though, and walk with the one who shaped you and breathed his very life into you! That’s why we got Jesus, without Him there is no hope.
God doesn’t want everyone though. He created some for base purposes.
If God gives you an inclination to follow Him then He is calling you. We are elected before the foundation of the world to be His children, and yes some are vessels created for destruction. But God still beckons you to be counted among the elect, open yourself to His word and confirm your calling.
I did. I asked God to save me. He did not. I am doomed. A throwaway person. Thanks, God.
Oh my gosh, no. No. God came to save Everyone. Everyone. Everyone. He is willing to save Everyone. Predestination is a load of bull. I don’t understand how @my–darling–dear can say something so unfeeling like “some are created to be vessels of destruction” to a person who is obviously suicidal. God loves everyone and came to save the whole world. It’s just that not everyone is willing to give up themselves to Him.
I can’t give myself to him. I have tried. I cant. It says in the Bible that if you believe in Jesus, and confess your sins, you will be saved. Well I did that. Many times, each time it did not seem to work. I can’t make myself love God
Where in the Bible does it support free will rather than election? It basically says people are elected. I always believed in free will but read Romans 9 and it made me feel so sick and awful I stopped reading my bible for a couple months
If your heart is dead set on being saved, I implore you to watch this sermons. And then, come and talk to me about what it says to you. It’s one of the sermons that lead me to understand salvation, please watch it friend.

No one ever “tried repenting” but then didn’t.
That’s not in the Bible. Either you just simply don’t understand repentance and the seriousness of the magnitude of your sins vs. God’s holiness, or you just can’t accept the fact that God will one day judge you for the sins which you love.
You can’t hide behind doctrines like election to excuse your sins, because all that election teaches is He will save whom He chooses to save. If He didn’t choose you, you wouldn’t care. If He’s chosen you, you would be on your knees in reverential awe of the King.
Sounds like this person expected to feel something after repenting and when miraculous feelings didn’t happen they assumed they were not forgiven and had no faith that god would do what he promised
That’s a good point too.
It’s so important to understand that it’s not even our faith that saves us, but Christ.
Faith is an instrument, sure. But ultimately it’s Christ who offers the salvation. So don’t have faith in your own faith–which is weak and so easily falters–rather have faith in the One who does not falter. He has perfectly satisfied the wrath of God and is able to cleanse you from all sins and unrighteousness.
“Scared is what you’re feeling. Brave is what you’re doing.”

— A.W. Tozer
“I don’t really wanna let you go… But its obvious that were on different roads.”

“You need people in your life that are further along than you, people that are more experienced, people that are out of your league. You need to be exposed to new levels so that you can go to new levels.”
— Joel Osteen
