Jo’s expression changed to one of curiosity as she waited for the woman to speak. She was shocked, upset and felt completely betrayed by one of her good friends. Jo wanted to yell and scream at the woman - or maybe it was Alex who she really wanted to yell at - but at the same time, she knew that it was all in the past and she had nothing to worry about. Raising her eyebrow as Addison spoke, the brunette attempted to reply with as little tone as possible. “It seems like you have a lot to say, actually.” Okay, so maybe the lack of tone thing wasn’t exactly working. “Neither of you thought that it was necessary to tell me that you had a thing together? One of my best friends and my boyfriend.. And you both kept this from me. Why?”
Addie shakes her head with a sigh. “Jo, it was such an insignificant thing –– I think the only person who actually knows is Mark." She looks at the brunette earnestly. “I didn’t think it mattered,” she explains.
It seems to her that Jo thinks she’s been hiding something that was more than twenty minutes in an on call room. A nurse passes by, and Addie can tell she’s trying to eavesdrop, so she pauses until the woman has gone. “He was an intern in love with a patient and I was sexually frustrated, recently-divorced wreck. It was a one-time thing.”
