Zuko is paired with the red dragon. Because Zuko had been trained as a prince throughout the story, he correctly bends with his fists closed unlike Aang. This time, Zuko has his palms open in a receptive manner. The dragon is red, which color normally symbolizes the aggression and passion Zuko is currently seeking, yet teaches him the stability and tranquility fire can also bring. This is something his teachings had been deprived of because of the Fire Nation propaganda to devour.

Another drunk rambling I made, but we focus on Wei Ying and his adoption of families (i.e. Jiang and Wen) but we don’t focus on Lan Zhan and his found family.

Because WY was accustomed to having families not bound by blood at a young age, he finds adopting the Wens an easy and natural progression.

Everyone else in the MDZS universe is tied through blood relations and honor for their sect, so they take issue with WY and the Wens and how easily he took them under his wing despite his connections to the Jiang sect.

I believe LZ found it hard to accept as well, which was why he kept his distance after having his help rejected, but his visit to the burial mounds helped him visualize and solidify the fact the the wens weren’t just refugees, they were his family. I don’t think he could’ve imagined picking and choosing who he also considered his own until the arrival and guardianship of little Wen Yuan. I don’t think he knew how easy it was to care for someone without locking them away physically without experiencing that sort of love himself.

Was going through my voice memos and I love recording myself not sober and just talking about danmei and one of the things I talked about is the diaspora of love that both Hua Cheng and Xie Lian share.

XL grew up beloved and blessed so he’s able to find love from the beauty of the world around him. He could love the way a flower looks, or love the innocent joy from a child’s face.

But on the flip side, Xie Lian knows loss between family and friends so he finds the action of being IN love very difficult. Loving farther than the surface opens your heart to pain.

Hua Cheng grew up unloved, so he doesn’t find love in his heart easily. So when he finally does find it, he holds onto it tight.

So not only does he love Xie Lian from the jump, but he’s IN love with him contemporaneously. And his ability to love hard and unconditional allowed him to become the man he is.

Their way of love is very yin and yang to me to where they finally get to the point where XL allows HC to live in his heart unequivocally, and HC’s unwavering love and devotion becoming the pillar and foundation of their relationship.

Just got hit with my first backhanded comment on ao3. Ik they said it as a compliment but dear lord I have half the mind to hit that block button.

Straight up said in the first chapter I was writing a certain trope bc I ran out of them while reading and wanted more. Don’t need to call me unoriginal for using a popular trope AND have the audacity to say it was “unexpectedly” good 😭 Please don’t tell me you’re reading my work with low expectations or call me unoriginal.

I’m in a niche fandom so I can’t imagine what it must feel like to write for a more popular one with these audacious people

The cumplane ship from svsss is soooo funny to me because the both of them are so bottom coded to me so I feel like the only time they would ever do the nasty is if they encountered a “have sex or die” subplot

Then as they’re doing the deed Shen Yuan would stop midway because Shang Qinghua did something stupid that wife #162 did with Luo Binghe in chapter 537 to seduce him; and when he calls him out on it, SQH immediately denies it and proceeds to do a trick that wife #218 did to Binghe in chapter 860 and SY clocks that too.

It would totally be a CBAT situation for them. Airplane as the Reddit poster and Cucumber as the girlfriend. That’s their entire dynamic in a nutshell
