Nothing like holding my love
I'm gonna post this now for no reason at all :)
we live in a world of never ending lesdaughter parallels
quite literally lestat’s nightmare blunt rotation
okay, now I'm thinking it was actually a genius and much-needed move to not have Young!Daniel flashbacks this season. Let the people in the back undeniably see that this is Old Maniel being loved and desired, that Armand loves and wants him EXACTLY for who and what he is, not for some memory of what he was 40 years ago
this is actually sending me. gabriella saw lestat stop time to fly up to louis and serenade him and immediately took out her phone to snap a quick picture of it
El detalle que Gabriela tenga un celular con carcasa como librito es hermosisimo 💙💙✨✨
Oh, look who’s lying just to be a dick. A little petty dick.
Eso es lo que me acordaba! Madeleine dijo que sentía a Louis, como no lo recuerda si lo escribió? Solo para dejar a louis ser malo con el?

I am never not thinking about the way they quote the Beatitudes in The Handmaid's Tale and The Testaments. In Season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale, when Aunt Lydia was interrogating June about Emily being a lesbian, Aunt Lydia tells June "Blessed are the meek" (where the line ends "for they shall inherit the Earth"). June being June (and also having been at least familiar with the Bible from before Gilead's rise) responds "Blessed are those who suffer for the cause of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." THEN in the season finale for The Testaments, when Agnes confronts Aunt Vidala about the Aunts' failure to protect Becka (and all the girls, really) Agnes says "Blessed are those who thirst for justice for they shall be satisfied!", which I assume is the Gilead approved version of "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." There is so much to get into there, but to keep it to 2 points: 1) It is so on brand that by the time Hannah is in wife school Gilead would have substituted "justice" (something defined and imposed and meted out by the state) for "righteousness" (something which is a divine or moral thing, not synonymous with law, and not something created and defined and controlled by flawed men); and
2) History truly repeats because it is insane that both June and her daughter end up quoting the Beatitudes to condemn an Aunt in defense of a lesbian.
Beckagnes Stocks are UPP!!!! People
The actresses who play Becka and Agnes are so good bc the look in their eyes when they dance with each other. You can tell Becka is in love with Agnes whereas Agnes looks at her lovingly as a friend. Like you can see the yearning from Becka and for Agnes you can see she is just having a fun time with her best friend.
straight vs queer ships in shows are always like….omg girl and boy shared a lingering glance once? that must mean they’re in love?…versus i killed my father because he dared lay hands on you. when i was doing it i felt like the divine light of justice and my love for you felt pure and clean and holy because i rid the world of evil in devotion to you.
My Royal Nemesis isn’t a perfect drama, but something it does so well is it allows its characters to be seen as vulnerable.
We’ve all laughed and gushed over what a pathetic (I say affectionately) loser-in-love Cha Se-gye is and it's because we get to see Sin Seo-ri's effect on him. There's never any question about how fond he is of her or how what she says and does rocks him to his very core even if it gets in the way of his image as a chaebol and more fundamentally as a man. His face is an open book where we get to witness him process all those messy feelings in real time whether it's him touching his face where she had caressed him or him looking offended at being asked to do a trial-run before officially dating or him turning around to hide his smile at seeing her praying at the mermaid statue or him going around town looking like a drowned cat after his dream about their past life together or...you get the point.
And the show does a good job playing up that vulnerability for laughs as well. I loved the ramyeon misunderstanding because we get to see Seo-ri admitting she sees him sexually and his absolute delight at the fact. Yes, it's a classic comedic misunderstanding but it reveals so much about how far Seo-ri has come in allowing herself to fall in love again and how happy it makes Se-gye to be wanted for himself.
There's no nonchalance here and that's so refreshing and beautiful.
