"Beleaguered" is a wonderfully expressive word. I am beset by troubles so manifold that they have formed a league. I am playing host to a diplomatic summit of the United Nations of Fuckery, and negotiations are not going well.

I don’t know what exactly peaked with the Madden Giferator, but I do miss it.
Fat people I love you
You lie down to sleep and your pet joins you. Where do they typically sleep adjacent to you? (If you have multiple pets, pick one.)
On my head/pillow
On my neck
In my arm(s)
On my torso
On/between my legs/feet
Somewhere else touching my body
On my bed but not touching my body
My pet would/could not do this

everyones got that fic they chip away at like michaelangelo sculpting david. and brother? its penis month
asked my friends if they knew what i was referencing and they said no. we all know that post where someone divided how long it took michelangelo to sculpt david by it's size and went "yuuuuup. whole month spent on penis" right. sure, my search history is full variations upon "michelangelo penis month tumblr" to no avail, but we all know it. right.
Hi, that was a MBMBAM bit. But i see you and i hear you and i dont know if someone already said something
oh my god youre right.
yeah no you're right, i believe it'd be way easier to do it 8 inches at a time from the top down
loudly going "YOU'RE GOOD YOU'RE GOOD" to myself to ward off the memory of every embarrassing thing i've ever done
I actually learned a fun therapy trick for this!
The statute of limitations on arson is 6 years.
So whenever I remember an embarrassing or shameful thing I’ve done, I ask myself if it was worse than arson. If it wasn’t, and it was 6 or more years ago, I forgive myself.
Also just the comedic shock of going “well, that was a stupid and mean thing I said, but 6 years is the statute of limitations on arson” helps.

It's absolutely crazy that intellectual labor can wipe you out. It seems like it shouldn't be a thing, like your stores of brain juice shouldn't be able to be depleted in that way.
I feel like a wizard that's out of spell slots, and to me that's a hackish mechanical limitation put in place to try to balance the classes.
#it's fucked and it's bad design #i should be able to write and edit for 20 hours a day #i'm just sitting there how are we even using energy #feels made up (via @softest-punk, emphasis mine)
Your brain is an incredibly energy-intensive organ. It makes up approximately 2% of your total body mass, but at rest it's using 22% of your total energy intake. The only thing that uses the same percentage of energy is all of your skeletal muscle (which is about 40% of your total body mass), with the liver (about 2.6% of your total mass) close behind at 21% (Aragon et al, 2017).
And that's how much energy it's using at rest.
That's the baseline.
So if you're doing lots of intellectual labour, your brain - which already has disproportionately huge energy demand - is going to use even more energy to keep up with the work. That's why you feel so wiped/drained/like you're out of spell slots after high intellectual demand - because your brain is an organ, and you've just done a lot of high-energy work with a high-energy organ.
Feed your brain.
“i also choose this guy’s dead wife” was easily the #1 funniest thing to ever be written on the internet.
you can know the punchline but you can’t stop it from punching you.
i do also feel the need to add that phil8248 really liked the joke. he said his wife had always had a dark sense of humour, even about her illness and death, and seeing the joke made him feel like he was laughing with her one last time.
HELLO ?
Help I got the Temu labiaplasty and now my pussy is on backwards
Justin McElroy talking about accessibility in live theatre (June 9, 2019)
“Art is happening everywhere all of the time” but an awful lot of it seems to only ever happen in New York and London, doesn’t it?
hell I’m someone who’s seen a LOT of theatre shows. we have a local theatre that does performances a few times a year and occasionally I’m able to get tickets when there’s a tour (even the closest location is like at least a two hours drive) and like. even if I’m actually fucking able to go to them the amount of times the Only Space with wheelchair access LITERALLY CAN’T see the fucking stage is wild. the last performance I went to I was seated somewhere where I wasn’t able to see anything except peoples feet unless the performers were on the far left of the stage. i was AT the live art and I wasn’t able to see it bc accessibility at theatres is That Dogshit. like even if somehow the geography and financial issues are somehow fine (they’re not) I think it’s Interesting how James completely ignored the disability part Justin mentioned. “art is happening everywhere” but no one cares to let people like me see it even if we’re fucking there and paid money for it.
