I really wish that larries / conspiracy theorists / fans would for just one second think about the weight of their words and actions.

Just to recap - Louis has been hearing his “fans” scream that Freddie isn’t his son since day 1. Louis has been called a deadbeat dad, he’s been berated for missing holidays, and he’s received death threats against his child - - all while his mother was dying from cancer and his sister was struggling with addiction.

Louis has experienced a lot of personal tragedy in the past four years. Additionally he’s struggled with many solo career set-backs, and hateful 1D fans criticizing him endlessly.

All of this is to say — when I heard that Briana’s dad had made some rather disparaging remarks about Louis’ parenting and the response from Briana, her mother, and Louis’ sisters was to post messages of support on Fathers Day, I felt concerned.

It concerns me because I know that a human can only handle so much. Even a tough-as-nails human like Louis Tomlinson.

This coordinated effort to shine love towards Louis appeared deliberate and meant to comfort him. That worries me. I’ve always seen Louis as able to weather most any storm, but just like you and me - he’s only human.

I hope that perhaps the people who go so far out of their way to attack Louis’ life will consider the weight of their words. Mostly, I hope that everyone is more than capable of reading through these lines and will check themselves.

The Tomlinson family doesn’t deserve another tragedy. ❤️

things that the members of one direction were not: - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to cover up a romantic relationship between two members - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to rope their extended families, all the way up to grandparents and eighth cousins twice removed, into said coverup - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to date a set of triplets who took turns “using” louis for fame (despite the fact that she hardly ever opened her mouth or tried to make any money off us) - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to turn off their microphones, resulting in them crying on stage - forced by management at metaphorical gunpoint to go through a staged pregnancy, a staged birth, and carry on this staged fatherhood for a number of years despite the band’s contract with said management coming to an end - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to hand over their social media accounts, private photos, and other forms of communication to further said coverup - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to wear t-shirts that send cryptic messages to fans and dress up build-a-bear stuffed toys to send cryptic messages to fans - forced at metaphorical gunpoint to carry on working with said evil management team (by hiring them again, founding another company with them, taking on a job on their television show) even after their contract came to an end

If you look at Harry’s other tweets, links to things like his Watermelon Sugar music video start with the same “HStyles.lnk.to” URL.

This comes from a paid third party service called a “smart link,” such as Soundplate. Record labels pay for these links for two reasons: they personalize the URLs to look nice and legitimize when artists share them, and, more importantly, they’re loaded with tracking abilities.

I think it was in pretty bad taste for Harry’s team to tweet the petition link using a smart link. But they did not send any traffic to his own website (that’s not even the URL of his website?) or somehow help the Change.org servers handle traffic by circumventing it (their servers don’t need any help, they’re huge). They just wanted to be able to see how much influence Harry had over his fan base when it comes to social justice with hard numbers.

All it succeeded in doing for me was proving that Harry himself didn’t tweet it, which is lame. I don’t think he needs to make a big scene, but a more personal tweet would be been nice.

Midnight Memories’ sound was purposefully crafted. Heavily advertised. It debuted at No. 1 and sold over 1 million copies in the US in barely five weeks. It was a massive success.

Your record label is with you every step of the way in creating, recording, and promoting an album. You don’t just sneak it by them — they’re footing all the bills!

Actually, in the most celebrity dense city in the world, you CAN get papped unknowingly, unplanned, and against your will. Why is this so hard to believe? Not ALL pappings are planned. Any celebrity who’s ever been caught in an unflattering beach pic will tell you that.

Harry told us he’s taking walks. Any decent paparazzi knows roughly where he lives. And with this pandemic, you can bet paparazzi aren’t making the money they used to and are getting desperate.
