the queerness of it all is reallyyy on display in this chapter, like 'hikaru' getting outed in front of everyone and publicly humiliated, clothes ripped up and his body exposed... the villagers express concern at this abuse, because "what if they're wrong?" but will they think the same when they see that it's true? that 'hikaru' really is a monster? or will this treatment suddenly be justified once they learn that he's exactly what he's being accused of being?

not to mention, again, the aroaceness of it all when it comes to satou viewing 'hikaru's different way of experiencing human connection and love as being inferior and "not like a REAL person" and saying that he's incapable of any kind of love or care for other people. god

i NEED more people to talk about how far gone light yagami was by the end of the series. i was watching the clip on youtube when matsuda shot light when he tried to write nears name in his own blood (that a whole different story about how crazy he went) and matsuda basically said “what abt ur dad. what was his sacrifice for?” and light said “my dad?” “you mean soichiro yagami” OMG. the fact that he had to remind himself of who is dad was just speaks volumes. one of the comments was basically saying that is shows how far gone light was and how he didn’t see people as people anymore. it was just the name he would have to write in the death note once they were no longer useful to him and his goal.

cares a lot about how he dresses and puts a lot of effort into his outfits

the jealous type (when it comes to competition such a achievement and academics.)

hear me out on this one but he actually cares for near/has some sort of sympathy when it comes to near. even though they always competed, near didn’t hate mello which makes mello more sympathetic towards him bc he’s human yk. (not a ship 😭)

definitely hates physical touch. he doesn’t mind if it’s someone he the person is very close to him

probably felt useless compared to near. during his time in the wammy house.

probably doesn’t have a lot of friends :,D (well that’s cannon but yeah😭)

he gets criticized for the way he eats his chocolate and likes when people gets annoyed at it.

very good listener surprisingly.

he absolutely hates when people have to take care of him. when matt tried to care for is burn he was very opposed to the idea and didn’t say a word to him while he did it.
