Being in the RusAme ship side of the fandom is really rad as hell cause you’ve got two types of rusame. There’s the sad, strained, angsty ‘you understood me more than anyone else did’ ‘you were my enemy before now I don’t know how to act around you’ type of rusame

And then there’s the “jfc they love space so much they prolly got like a room full of space toys and moon shoes” and “gay little fuckers so into memes is2g america is prolly russia’s meme lord/lover”

"Sasuke and Naruto didn't act like best friends" THAT'S THE POINT.

The tragedy of Naruto and Sasuke is how their trauma and inferiority complexes prevented them from having a "normal" friendship like in other shonens. They both recognize "what could have been." In an ideal world, they'd be balls deep soft, affectionate. But the shinobi world fucked them up.

Naruto saw Sasuke as his goal. Naruto admired him, wanted to reach out to him. But he was rejected by the village, felt desperate to be Sasuke's equal. He chased acknowledgment in place of love. Deep down, he wanted to be with Sasuke, the one person who always accepted him.

Sasuke saw Naruto as a kindred soul. He also secretly admired Naruto from afar. Yet he couldn't form new bonds because of the trauma of losing his family and his brother's betrayal. He rejected love to chase after power, and severed all his ties. Deep down, he wanted to be with Naruto, the one person who never abandoned him.

They were children starved for love. They wanted to hold hands. They did, in the end. They could finally be honest with themselves after their final battle. That moment on was the start of the bond they always wanted. Do I think their friendship lacked buildup? No. IT WAS THE POINT.

so within the span of like 10 episodes

- sai tells naruto “Sasuke keeps causing you so much pain…now, if it were me…” naruto ignored him

- gaara tried to put his arm around naruto and naruto literally pushed it off

- sakura makes fake-ish love confession to make naruto get over sasuke which like, the implication, and then when naruto rejects it she tells him all he thinks about is sasuke

- hinata confessed her love and naruto not only bootlegs her confession to use on sasuke but he ignores addressing it at all for years

Sasuke was in a 5 way love triangle without knowing it or initiating anything guys 😂

I don't understand why people question if Sasuke likes Naruto, romantically speaking. I think Sasuke is so much more clearer than Naruto about the depth of his emotions. He has stated multiple times that Naruto is the only thing capable of making him lose sight of his goals. If Naruto showed up for long enough, Sasuke absolutely will stop and drop everything. He's admitted to this.

Itachi emphasized that he needs to kill someone precious to him in order to activate his Mangekyou Sharingan, and Sasuke didn't even hesitate before thinking about Naruto. No one else was even in consideration.

His biggest weakness, and the only person who he has made clear has acknowledged him, is Naruto like this is text. He's not chasing Naruto, but that's because he loves him so damn much he needs to run away from it.

With Naruto, there's a lot of duty to the village and perhaps some obligation and guilt associated with the time Sasuke nearly died for him. The story paints it as if Naruto is chasing Sasuke due to his promise to Sakura(he wasn't). But there's more factors obscuring the reasons for Naruto's determination than for Sasuke. Naruto says "for the village, to save my friend, for a promise", etc.

Sasuke explicitly says "I have to kill you because you're the only thing that is precious to me and I can't have that because you weaken me".

I’m doing research on the whole Russian Ships Docked In New York in 1863 Situation and I ended up on this website reading an account of the whole thing by the Naval Historical Foundation and it included this image which I just wanted to share with the world because I did a reverse image search and didn’t find it anywhere else:

Based on the source it seems this was a cartoon by a New York newspaper published on Nov 21, 1863 shortly after a reception for the Russians and it features the national animals of England, France, Russia, and America. England and France are so pissy here because Russia was refusing to join in mediation efforts during the Civil War which would probably lead to full recognition and separation for the Confederates. The Russians made it very well known that they supported the Union (mostly because America was a country they could team up with against the UK if it ever came to that). England and France were kinda pro the division of America because then it would knock America down a peg globally and they would have a harder time enforcing their Monroe Doctrine against France’s colonial pursuits (anti-European interference in the New World basically)

The Russians did not tell anyone that they would be docking in New York (and San Francisco). They were really doing it because they wanted a reserve of ships safe in other ports should war break out in Europe (unrelated). Showing support for the Union was a secondary thing and not really even the intention at all. But nobody knew this in New York at the time so “yay the Russians are here to help us!” Also, it was a pretty good way of telling France and England to back off. If you are at all interested in this topic you should read the linked pamphlet. It’s very good.

Anyway this is a post about Hetalia and I just thought that pissed off gross lion was giving total England vibes. And don’t even get me started on the fruk/rusame implications of this drawing from 160 years ago. Like they didn’t have to do all that. I really really love how pathetic the France rooster looks.
