Yoongi should've listened to his body, when he woke up this morning feeling slightly dizzy—instead brushing it off as he stood up too fast and he was running thin on sleep last night.
If only he listened to what his body trying to tell him, he wouldn't be in this predicament right now—trying to straighten up his body despite the floor move dangerously like he's on the boat, not the cafe, while simultaneously has to keep the tiramisu cheesecake and iced latte on his hand not spill all over the said floor.
He sucks a deep breath—apparently a nauseated one as he starts to feel bloated and nauseous 5 minutes ago (he also blame this on too much americano before eating solid proper food)—slowly scooting his body as subtle as he can to lean against the wall as he blinks and scrubs his eyes with his free hand.
He gulps. Blurry eyes roaming around the cafe, hoping that someone would accidentally notice his awkward position and ask him whats wrong and want to take his job to bring the order and he can sit— "Hyung, is everything okay?"
Anyone but his manager.
Now, his manager isn't a strict one. If anything he loves his manager. In any kind of way you want to interprets it. Hoseok is such a good manager—that always seen in the kitchen or counter, lounging and working like any barista, that the first month he's here, he's conviced that the younger didn't have any manager-office-like. And he got proven wrong with his bubbly heart-shaped laughs. "Of course i do, Hyung. It's just stuffy in there, and i love being around people", he shrugs off, "Papers can be dealt anytime, it won't go somewhere anyway". Since that, going to work in this cafe has become 10291020102 percents more enjoyable for him.
Unless this time. Out of any possible good time for him to chit-chat and meet again with his manager, slash work crush, it happens when he's disoriented, pale, dizzy, and barely can see anything?
"Uh..", Yoongi try to straighten his body but fails miserably, swaying on his feet and almost chucked the tray to the ground—that Hoseok gracefully catch. "Woah .. easy hyung. Are you okay? You look pale"
Yoongi blinks. And the room spins twice harder behind his eyes. He swears he feels his knees buckles for few second. "No, i'm fine just—", he sucks a deep breath, opening his eyes slowly with grimace, as his throat starts to feel lodged. "Dizzy"
Hoseok look at him with concern and brush him off, "Go to the back and sit, i will send this one"
"Are you sure? I still can—"
"Yoongi", uh oh. His real name. Not hyung. "You look like you might faint. Do you want to send this order to the ground or to the customer? Go to the back and sit. I'm not repeating myself"
Yoongi nods, a little one. Afraid to jostles his body more. "Thank you, sorry"
He sees Hoseok wink, blurily, before the younger jogs away and cheerfully serving the order. Yoongi, hasn't move his hand from supporting his weight against the wall, slowly trudge to the back. It's only 10 steps in maximum, to reach it. But it feels like an hour trip for him now as his vision swims and he starts to breaking in cold sweats. By the time he sit down on the couch, he's fully panting and the wall is moving in rapid motions.
"Fuck ..", Yoongi moans, sinks into the couch while massaging his temple. Dizziness rolling at him like a thick waves, and that sensations spread to his whole body especially his stomach. His stomach swirls, along with the room, slowly rising up right to his chest. He swallows thickly, moving his left hand over his lips—pressing it tightly. Just in case.
"Hyung", the couch dips beside him. And he wants to see the face so badly, but only manage a groan as response as he's afraid he might puke if he moves as much opening his eyes. "I bring you chamomile tea, and tylenol", Hoseok murmurs. "Are you feeling that bad? What are you feeling?"
Yoongi huffs, "I don't think i can—", a sour gassy burp escapes. He shuddered. Fuck.. he's going to puke now.
"Hoba.."
"Hm?"
Yoongi grips his hand, "Bathroom .. now", he chokes out just right before a wet gag forces his way up to his throat. He barely manages to stiffle it, almost slapping himself hard with how fast he brings his palm to clamp his own lips. But the sour burn of bile already coating his tongue. Heavy, and urgent.
Panic flares in his chest—maybe Hoseok's too—as Yoongi know his time is slim as his chest already feels full with whatever food he about to bring up. In the haze of dizziness he manages to bring his feet running to the bathroom, or is it Hoseok that physically drags him there, he doesn't know. All he know is when his stomach lurches for the second time from the abrupt jostles he just did, he already at the bathroom door. And the third one that come 5 seconds later, Hoseok already lift the toilet seat up as Yoongi fold his body and dark brown water shoots up from his lips in rapid pace. The voice of water meeting water echoes through the tiny wall.
Yoongi pants, feeling awful as nausea still thick all over his body and he feels gross and sweaty. His nose runny from some vomit that traveled up the wrong way. "Fuck ..", he curses, slowly kneel and prepped himself over the bowl as he knows he isn't done yet.
"You can leave, Hoba ..", He rasps. The murky water ripples below him. "This is", he jolts forward with empty gag. "Gross"
Hoseok scoffs, pressing the flush as he let himself kneel too. Right hand haven't move from the older tense nape, and the left one busy collecting the long dark locks into one bun. "Ssh .. don't mind me"
"Sorry", Yoongi mumbles, his jaw clicks as his body convulses with new found gags. His stomach clenches in brutal, involuntary spasms, forcing up thick, sour torrents of vomit of whatever he ate today. The sound is wet and desperate.
Saliva strings from his lips between gasps, his throat burning with acid. "Uurrk—", Another violent surge rips through him, more of his stomach contents splattering noisily against the porcelain. He grips his midsection until his knuckles turn white, trembling as another wave rises.
"Fuck ..", Yoongi pants in between the lull, wiping his mouth weakly with the back of his hand. "This is awful". The dizziness hasn’t faded—if anything, the exertion has made it worse, the room tilting drunkenly around him.
"You throw up a lot hyung", Hoseok hums, pausing his massage to circle around, grabs the tissue and flushes the toilet. The stench and sight slowly making his weak stomach nauseous too. "Why would you clock in if you feel this bad?", Hoseok tsk, "Are you done?"
Yoongi sniffles, shaking his head as he scoots closer to the bowl once more. His throat already bobbing up and down in preparation. "No .. more", he huffs nauseatedly. "You really can go, Hob—uuurrkk"
Hoseok winces. His fingers pressing harder toward the older contracting muscles as if it could help to fasten the process.
The sound of Yoongi retches, gags, panting, and Hoseok's soft "Sshh .. breathe hyung, let it out", fill the tiny bathroom stall for the next 5 minutes until the older has turn as pale as sheets and slumps again Hoseok's body. "Shit .. hyung? Are you with me? Hey?!"
Yoongi groan. "5 minutes.. 'm dizzy", he slurred out. His voice cracks at the end with how bad his throat burns.
"Don't faint on me or i swear hyung", Hoseok grunts.
"You can carry me then", Yoongi mumbles, groaning as he tries to sit up, the room isn't spinning as bad as earlier.
Hoseok watches him, his hand hovering nearby, ready to catch if the worst happens and fainting isn't just a joke between them. "You need to go home hyung. I'm serious"
Yoongi walk slowly toward the sink to clean himself up, his mouth feels utterly disgusting. "I can't. I bring my motorbike here and i'm still dizzy", he answers between the gurgles of water.
"You want me to drop you off?", Yoongi looks at the younger from the mirror. Despite the bluriness of his vision, he still catch faint blush from the latter. Contrasting with his serious tone. "It's okay, Hoba. The cafe is busy. Shouldn't you be in the front? Jieun must've been cursing our names now"
Hoseok chuckles at that. "Let me help you settle down first and i will take her rants for the next hours"
Yoongi let himself be guided to settle down on the couch (their only one) again, drinking the tea and take the tylenol Hoseok brings earlier under his careful watch before the latter scurries outside to the cafe bustles. He watches him go before curling on himself and let his facade down. He let out every whimpers, groans, and curses about how awful he felt under his breath. Desperately wanting unconsciousness just to take him and he would magically wake up feeling better and normal.

His wishes earlier must've been granted, as he slowly stirs into consciousness. Not even remember when he dozed off. The tylenol must've work immediately. He slowly opens his eyes, cursing when nothing changes—his vision still swims and the wall and door still moving in wobbly circles. And the cafe still bustling with lots of people outside. He shifts, groaning again as he feels the water he took just then swirls along.
He's nauseous again.
He sucks a deep breath. And another five in more calculated pattern. No .. he can't throw up right now. He will fall on his feet and embarassingly throw up all over the floor and himself if he moves as he's too dizzy.
Yoongi swallows, curling himself smaller—hands tight around his stomach—and starting to breathe through his mouth too. 5 minutes passed. And all Yoongi feels is how sickeningly thick saliva is in his mouth, and swallowing it feels like he's drinking lumpy gross liquid, and there's no place to spits.
Water.
Maybe water will helps.
He huffs, steeling himself to change his position. Maybe lying down make his dizziness worsen. Who knows. He just need to sit up, and drink water, and maybe he will feel better.
He push himself up, and that's a wrong move.
"Uuurrk—", he jerks forward, hands slapping over his mouth as grated empty retch pitches out of him. His eyes widen. His breath coming in shallow ragged ones as his brain quickly assess the situation. But his stomach moves faster as it contracts again, sending him forward once more and leave with no choice except running to the bathroom before he make a mess of himself.
Just as he passes the oven, 5 steps in from the bathroom door, a deeper heaves rush over him, "Mmh—Uurrk—" a productive vomit filling his cheeks, slipping into his palm. His breath coming into faster pace and so is his feet. He didn't get to close the door or check if the stall is occupied before he dives into the sink. Letting his vomit-coated hand falls along with mouthful of it splattering against the porcelain. He quickly turns the tap on before he belches, curling further digging his ribs over the counter and his lunch yesterday begged to come out.

"Yoongi? You in there?", Hoseok frowns, wandering further to the back as he sees the couch empty. His mind already racing with few possibilities, either Yoongi suddenly decides to go home without telling him, or he faints somewhere dark and he won't find him, or—
His eyes widen, in rhythm with the loud pounds of his heart as he heard faint gagging from the bathroom.
Shit.
"Yoongi?!", Hoseok runs to the source of noises, doesn't even need to slam the door in dramatic way, as it already half open. "Hyung!", he jumps right as the older knees buckles. Sink still running and stench of vomit still filling the air.
Hoseok didn't even think it's possible for a people to be pale and almost look translucent. But Yoongi, in his arms now, is.

It starts after dinner, the first contractions.
When he and Jungkook already tucked comfortably in the dimness of their room—Jungkook is editing videos on his laptop, while he doomscrolling on his phone; multitasking it with rubbing his ever growing bump, that strangely enough, feels taut under his palm tonight.
It squeezes hard. Hard enough for him suck a deep breathe through the little gaps over his bitten lips, and pause at kitten videos on his Tiktok, and for the low hums of music from Jungkook's laptop to pause too.
"Hyung?"
Jimin exhales as his muscles slowly relaxing, "It's fine, a contraction. Braxton hicks", he brushes off, waddles a little to find a more comfortable position as his back starts to twinge with pain. Jungkook hums, taking another glance at him before going back to his laptop.
He goes back on his phone again, despite half of his attention already flying out of the window. He knows, that this isn't Braxton hicks. The contraction feels more intense. But part of his mind is telling him that maybe, the contraction feels different since he's more exhausted today. He had a quite busy day moving around, slightly overdoing his obgyn advice. Also with the estimated due date still roughly 2 weeks more, that definitely was a braxton hicks.
5 videos and replying one message from Hoseok later—it comes at him in waves. It starts from his lower part of his bump, slowly going up to his diaphragm.
"Ah..fuck", he moans. His grip on his phone and his bump tighten immediately. Cold sweats starts beading on his forehead as the "waves" squeezes his entire torso.
"Hyung, again?!", Jungkook scoots closer, sitting up straight and immediately finding his hand over any part of the older body that he can touch for comforts. "Take a deep breathe hyung .. remember the yoga class"
Jimin does .. and at the count of 6, it slows down again.
"That was.. worst", He pants, swallowing hard at thick saliva that lodge his throat. "I need you to start timing it, Kook-ah"
Jungkook frowns, and then his eyes widen as it clicks. "Is it real contractions? You're going to labor?"
"Maybe", he shrugs, "Better safe than sorry"
"Fuck.. okay.. okay..", Jungkook eyes wanders around. Panic starts to settle in his brain with the new information. "What do you want me to do? Car? Pack shirts? Fuck do you even have bag already? Oh i should call Jin—"
Jimin chuckles, "Kook-ah, slow down. It won't be happening anytime soon. The contractions are still quite far apart", he rubs his bump, "And i have already prepared everything so all we need to do is go if i actually go into labor tonight"
"You sure? How long are we talking? I'm not prepared!", Jungkook stress.
"Maybe not even tonight, Kook, calm down. People says that labor takes a long time. And i just have my first contraction few mins ago, i still have long way to go"
"You sure?", the younger sags, placing his hand over Jimin's tight bump.
"Yeah .. sure"

What Jimin didn't account is how sensitive his body has become during his pregnancy. He almost forget the hell of hyperemesis he experienced during the first 6 months. How many times he had thrown up over the bathroom, kitchen sink, Jungkook's car, grocery store, his front door pavement, etc etc.
So when he starts to feel the telltale of nausea at the 5th contractions an hour later, he almost groans with "i knew it!!" on the back of his throat, and know that things would escalate .. fast.
"Hyung, where are you going?", Jungkook frowns as he sees the older suddenly squirming away and placing his socked feet on the edge of the bed.
"Bathroom", Jimin hiss as another waves of contractions passes through him. This time feels like it squeezes his entire dinner up to the upper part of his bump. His tongue starts to taste bitter-bland and heavy.
"You want to pee? Let me help you"
"No—aah", Jimin moans, feeling his muscle tightens, "I think i might puke"
He hunches his body forward as much as he can when the contractions start to ebb away. Catching his breath.
Jungkook hovers beside him, eyes wide as he's lost with how he needs to help. "Want to go now?"
Jimin nods, shakily take Jungkook hands and let the younger take most of his weight as they start to walk toward the bathroom. Each steps is deliberate, a subconscious attempt to calm the rapid-building queasiness inside the older.
5 steps in, and suddenly Jimin gags.
"Hyung.. hyung.. breathe, we're almost there", Jungkook panics, gently pushing his hyung over the toilet. They managed with a slim time as the next heave comes 20 seconds later with a big spray of water and fickles of undigested rice right over the bowl. Jungkook didn't get to lift the seat out of the way. Jimin pants, hand craddling his bump while the other squeezes Jungkook arms—before he retches, sending more productive bigger wave of his dinner that got his jaw locked for a good 5 seconds. "Oh god..", he gasps, coughing and shaking his head as he feels dizzy from the force of it. "My dinner.."
"Uurk—",
He barely managing to clamp his palm over his mouth as saliva starts to thickens and pool under his tongue. The urge to vomit licking the back of his throat. He stumbles one step forward—wanting to fasten his move, when his stomach squeezes and sending what he ate for dinner right on his throat. He heaves over his palm, bending further forward.
"Ssh .. it's okay hyung", Jungkook murmurs as he offers him tissue and flush the toilet, "Breathe"
Jimin sniffles, throwing the tissue along the swirling water and spits. He slowly get down to kneel and prepped himself over the bowl. Position that he already come acquintances with.
"More?", Jungkook asks as he brush the older long hair and tied it quickly.
Jimin hums.
He spits twice and count his breathe until 8, before he lurches forward again.
If he thought vomiting on empty stomach during his morning sickness phase was Bad—oh Jimin has news for his past-self. This one is way worse. It almost scares him.
"Hyung .. let's go to the hospital now", Jungkook frets beside him as he press cold cloths over Jimin's slumping body when he get a lull for the last 5 minutes. His face still contorts in pain as the contractions keep going with barely have any significant breaks now. "You're throwing up a lot and trembling hyung"
His body doesn't feel like its his anymore as he gags loudly over the bowl in tandem with his stomach contracts. He barely can hear Jungkook constant murmuring of "It's okay hyung", "Hyung..", "Breathe hyung, come on. Slow down", in between the ringing of his ears. All he can think now is his when his stomach contracts, it wants what he ate tonight and even last night to be out of his body too. And there's nothing that can stop it. His throat bobbing up and down sending gush of vomit over and over again. From its thick until its watery.
Jimin croaks out an answer that only manages to come out as a groan. His mind isn't there anymore. And Jungkook has to work with it.
"Are you still feeling like puking?"
Jimin shakes his head. "Just.. hurts", he rasps.
"Okay.. okay", Jungkook breathes, "Let me clean you up and we go to the hospital, okay?"

The next 10 minutes is a blur to Jimin. He barely register how he already curled in bed from the bathroom, hands craddling over his bump and breathing in and out with counted pattern—while listening to Jungkook fuss around him. He hears clatters and hums of him moving here and there, even manage to change his sweaty shirts into more comfortable hoodie and sweatpants. By the time he already on 50 counts, Jungkook already beside him and they walk toward his car.
"How are you feeling?", Jungkook looks at him as he starts the engine and buckle himself up. His chest relaxing a little at the sight of his pregnant boyfriend slightly gains a little color on his cheeks—either from exhaustion or he feels better, he didn't want to know. But at least Jimin isn't actively throwing his guts out and whimpering in pain, that's good enough for him.
"Hurts.. everything", Jimin breathes out. "Contraction still going and i think its getting closer", he shifts. His back truly bothering him.
"Still nauseous?", Jungkook continues as he swerves into the road.
"A little", Jimin hums, gazing out of the window. "Do you have any sick bags?"
"It's in the dashboard right in front of you", Jungkook frowns, looking at him. "Why?"
"Just in case"
"Just tell me when i need to pull over, okay?"
"Mhm"
Jungkook looks at the older again and let his grip on the steering wheel relax a bit. They are okay. Jimin will be okay. Jimin is strong.
The rest of ride filled with low hums of radio and Jimin counted breathes, that subconsciously making Jungkook match his breathing patterns to it—the yoga class really not lying. It relax him a bit.
He throws another glance at Jimin when the counts stop a bit longer. His heart starts to pound as he met with an expression that he's too familiar with the past months. "Open the dashboard hyung, breathe"
Jimin nods, shakily open the dashboard and put the bag into his mouth. He moans into it, "I'm going to—uuurrk"
"That's it hyung, breathe", Jungkook hums, eyes moving quickly as he try to keep an eye on his hyung vomiting and how to change the lane into the slower one. He grimaces when a loud and harsh gag drown the sound of cars behind him honking.
"Kook-ah", Jimin chokes out, barely lifting his head as his lips still actively spilling trickles of water and saliva. "Tissue please?"
Jungkook reaches the tissue beside him and hands it over, "Want me to pull over hyung?"
"No—aah fuck", he moans as contractions passes through him, "I'm okay. We need to hur—uurrrkk", and retches again. Hard enough he almost slams his head over the dashboard as his body curls along with it. He fills the bag for another 5 minutes, a particular big wave rushes through him as Jungkook turn the car—before it stops and left him sags into the seat, panting and sweating profusely. "How long again?"
"8 minutes", Jungkook answers. "Better?"
"No", Jimin sniffles, looking around for trashcan they both kept ever since his pregnancy. "Not until i push this baby out"
"I will drive faster, okay?", Jungkook glances at him, "Get more bag if you need"
Jimin groans as he squeezes his eyes shut, a harsher contractions rush. "Okay.. okay"

Somehow, through sheer force of will, Jimin manages to stop throwing up—at least long enough until they arrived at the hospital.
He's still nauseous, though. Badly so. That was the longet car rides he ever been.
His stomach churns with each tiny motion of the car, each subtle bump in the road, each turn and speeding over other cars. It takes every bit of concentration he has just to keep the next round of vomit at bay. He's sure his hand has already left some marks over his stomach with how much it moves in slow circles, trying to soothe the churning, restless ache beneath his palm.
By the time Jungkook put off the engine, Jimin wastes no time to free himself from the seatbelt, almost jumping out of the car if he doesn't remember his predicament now. He sways a bit as his swollen feet touch the ground, bracing his right hand on his knee and left one over the car door. He hears Jungkook run toward him just in time as he bend forward with an airy nauseated burps.
"Again hyung?"
Jimin barely nods as he burps again, he shudders at the taste. "I'm so sic—uuurrrk", stream of water sprays out of his lips into the asphalt below him. Forming a big puddle. He sucks 2 quick breath of fresh air before he curls further, more productive vomit splatters over his tiptoes. He recognizes some of it as meager crackers and milk he ate for brunch.
"Fuck..", his ears rings. He moves his right hand to craddle his bump tightly, pressing some of sore points that the contraction feels more intense, before gurgling out more vomit out. Jungkook has to pull him backward so his shoes doesn't get coated with it. "Kook, i feel sick—uuurrkk"

And more.
And right as he feel wetness over his legs.
He keeps going, like his body doesn't know how to stop after being surpressed from releasing itself for the last 15 minutes of trip. He barely register anything around him over his retches and heaving—when suddenly theres a few people around him that isn't Jungkook, and a wheelchair.
Right as he let out the last dry heaves that left his knees buckles, and he topples over the wheelchair.
"Kook-ah", Jimin croaks out with the last energy he has as they wheel him inside the rush of hospital.

And they realize of his condition only when it’s too bad and this is what makes them come together. A household of seven boys was bound to become chaotic at some point. Really, it wasn’t anything new. There were days when soiled laundry would line the hallway - Jungkook having dropped his dirty clothes on the floor by accident on the way to the laundry room. Taehyung had a bad habit of leaving used mugs in the kitchen sink. Namjoon had a similar problem. Hoseok would always take the longest showers in the morning, disrupting everyone’s morning routine. Yoongi would stock up on too much coffee in their shared pantry. Seokjin would sometimes stay in bed for too long. And Jimin, well, he would sometimes forget to turn the lights off after leaving a room.
Don’t get them wrong, they loved living together. Afterall, it was rare to be able to rent an entire house they could all live in together. But some days were hard, and their bad habits got in the way.
Like today.
“Ya! I told you not to leave your used mugs in the sink!” Seokjin scolded as he rushed to wash everything piled up.
“I said I’d wash everything later! After this 9am online meeting!” Taehyung huffed. “I’m home the entire day anyway.”
“You’ll forget to do it,” Seokjin muttered. He shook his hands dry and quickly swiped them over the towel hanging by the sink.
Jimin watched as Taehyung plopped down on the seat at the dining table, a scowl evidently drawn on his face. “Why does hyung even think that way?” Taehyung muttered under his breath. “If he’s in such a rush to get to work, why won’t he leave the chores to me! I work from home anyway.”
Jimin looked down at his half-eaten oatmeal. He hated conflict, but it was inevitable in this household. Heck, in any household. The whole ordeal was making his stomach churn.
“Right, Jimin-ah?” Taheyung asked.
Jimin looked up, surprised. He hadn’t noticed that Taehyung was staring at him from across the table, expecting a reply.
“Uh,” Jimin began, swallowing the heavy lump in his throat. “Yeah.”
Taehyung rolled his eyes and got back to work on his laptop. “Hyung is impossible.” He was about to put on his headphones when Seokjin yelled from the kitchen.
“Yaaaa!”
Their hyung emerged from the other room. He was staring down at his phone, frowning.
“What is it, Seokijng hyung?” Jimin asked.
“They’re making me work from home today! The big deadline was pushed back because our boss wasn’t happy with the final proposal,” Seokjin replied. He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. “I rushed this morning for nothing!”
“Yipee,” Taehyung said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Seokjin didn’t reply, but Jimin did catch their eldest hyung roll his eyes before he proceeded to stomp his way back upstairs.
“What about you, Min? Are you headed out to teach a dance class today?” Taehyung asked. Jimin noted the stiffness in his friend’s voice, like he was trying to force a conversation out of politeness, but Jimin knew that Taehyung was still bothered by the misunderstanding with Seokjin.
“Uhm,” Jimin began. His stomach flipped again, probably the nth time that same morning. He had woken up slightly nauseated and lightheaded, his stomach rolling uncomfortably. He had wanted to bring it up with Seokjin hyung, just in case he had a quick remedy for an upset tummy. Their hyung knew so many household remedies. But after seeing the argument between his housemates, Jimin decided against bringing it up. But without the good ‘ol concoction of his hyung, Jimin wasn’t so sure he would survive teaching today. “I’m not sure.”
“What do you mean?” Taehyung asked, raising an eyebrow. “You’re not sure if you have classes to teach today?”
“I mean -”
“Oh, hold on,” Taehyung said. He pressed his headphones closer to his ears and nodded, eyes glued to his laptop. He typed something up on his keyboard then glanced back up at Jimin. “Sorry Jiminie, the meeting just started!”
“Okay,” Jimin said, offering a smile and a thumbs-up. “Good luck!”
After that, Jimin headed upstairs. He kept his hand splayed against his stomach, trying to quell the growing nausea. When he got to the landing of the first floor, he stifled a burp against his closed fist. Maybe he just needed to sit down in his quiet room. Seeing his friends fight probably triggered anxiety which triggered his nausea…
He quickly made his way down the hallway. He stopped outside Seokjin’s room for a second and contemplated knocking on his hyung’s door. Was he asking for medicine? Or was he looking for sympathy? Jimin cringed on himself and hurried on to his own room instead. He hated how needy he got sometimes when he didn’t feel well.
Jimin crawled back in bed. He took a deep breath through his nose and counted as he exhaled through his mouth. 1…2…3…
Okay, maybe I can teach my classes today.
His stomach churned angrily. Jimin winced, clutching the fabric of his shirt above his stomach.
Nevermind.
He whipped his phone out and sent a text message to the dance studio.
Hi, I’m so sorry but I can’t make it today.
Not feeling well. Please inform the kids.
Thank you!
Jimin hit SEND with a sigh. He crawled under his covers and curled in on himself, hoping this position would ease the cramping in his stomach. But try as much as he did, the guilt ate up at him and squirmed around in his belly. He had wanted so badly to meet his students today. They were nearly done with the choreography he had started for them last week…
An uncomfortable sensation snaked its way up Jimin’s chest and throat, ending in a wet belch. He slapped a hand over his mouth, his eyes wide. That did not feel good. Before he could even comprehend what was going on, his stomach revolted once more and he jumped up from his bed and ran towards the shared bathroom on the second floor.
Uuurp!
He flung the door open and fell to his knees in front of the toilet. He heaved again, but nothing came up. His eyes welled with tears, his face grew hot with exertion. He hated being sick, and he hated it even more when he had to deal with sickness alone. But Seokjin and Taehyung were busy with work, and the rest of his friends weren’t home.
He heaved again, this time bringing up a string of saliva. He panted over the toilet, his shoulders up to his ears and his body overheating. His vision was swimming. He snaked a hand to his stomach, which felt bloated and hot and too full.
Calm down! He tried to tell himself. But it was hard to do alone, when he felt anything but calm. He wished someone was there to hold him right now, to rub his back and tell him that he was going to be alright.
The next heave brought up what little food he had for breakfast. He clutched his shirt as his stomach clenched violently. He hated the feeling of food rushing up his throat but he let it happen. That’s what Seokjin always told them whenever one of them was ill. He heaved a few more times until it was just his spit coming up, then he sighed and sat down with his back against the wall. His stomach still hurt but it didn’t feel as angry anymore.
Jimin reached up and flushed the toilet, then struggled back to his feet. His legs felt like there were ants crawling up and down his bare skin. He wasn’t sure how long he had been kneeling over the toilet, but it was probably long enough to cause his muscles to cramp. He leaned over the sink heavily, trying desperately to steady his breaths and to ride the dizzy spell out.
The boy that stared back at him in the mirror looked anything but okay. He was glad he had made the call to skip teaching his classes that day. There was no way in hell he’d be able to teach in his current condition.
He bent down and rinsed his mouth, trying to ignore the way his abdominal muscles ached at the change in position. He splashed some water on his face too, hoping it’d make him feel better. His skin was starting to burn, and he had a sinking feeling it was the start of a fever. He contemplated checking his temperature but upon checking the medicine cabinet, the axillary thermometer was missing. They were also out of fever meds. Well, this home really did get quite chaotic.
Jimin made his way back to his room, one hand along the length of the wall to keep his balance, his other arm wrapped across his sore belly. He still felt slightly bloated and he was afraid he’d have to make another trip back to the bathroom later on. But for now, all the throwing up had left him lightheaded and he needed a quick nap.
It would have been an actual disaster if Jimin had insisted on teaching his dance classes today. He could barely even summon the energy to crawl back in bed. Pushing open his bedroom door felt like it was made of pure mahogany. He managed to push it shut once he was in his room, then he shuffled towards his bed before dropping face down on it.
I’ll just try to sleep this off, he thought as he crawled under his sheets again. He was too hot and too cold at the same time, and yet he didn’t have the strength to adjust the thermostat in his room. He didn’t even know what to adjust it to. Anyway, maybe sleep would help…

His dreams were weird. One moment, he was leading a dance class for Taehyung’s online meeting, then in the next scene, he was washing dishes - endless piles of dishes. Was he working at a restaurant now? His arms were starting to hurt. Was he ever going to finish with this task?
Then all of a sudden, Jimin startled awake. He was breathing hard, flat on his back, staring up at his ceiling. He blinked slowly, trying to steady his bearings. What an odd sequence of dreams, he thought.
His room was pitch black, thanks to his thick curtains. But now he felt utterly disoriented. His throat felt too dry and scratchy. And his arms were hurting. Now he was confused if he had actually been washing plates all night long.
He rolled over with a groan and reached for his phone.
3:52 PM
Wow, he had slept pretty long. Gauging by how parched his throat felt, he decided to fill a glass of water for himself in the kitchen. Slowly, he pushed the sheets of himself and sat upright in bed. He was surprised by how breathless he felt after what little movement he had done. It really was a good call not to show up for his dance classes today.
Getting out of bed was another story. His knees were wobbly and he had to hold on to a table near his bed to gather his bearings. At least his stomach wasn’t revolting against him anymore.
One step at a time, he thought as he coaxed one foot in front of the other. How he, a dance coach, now struggled with merely walking was beyond him.
Downstairs, Jimin spotted Seokjin on the couch in the living room. His hyung looked deep in concentration as he worked on his laptop. Meanwhile, Taehyung was in the kitchen, making himself a mug of coffee.
“Good morning,” Taehyung said as Jimin shuffled into the kitchen. “You missed lunch.”
“Mhmm,” Jimin managed. His throat felt raw, but he wasn’t sure if it was from the retching this morning or dehydration.
Taehyung stopped in his tracks, coffee mug held midair. Jimin could feel his soulmate’s eyes boring into him as he poured a glass of water for himself. Jimin tried to keep his hands steady but the task was nearly impossible with how fatigued his entire body felt.
“Are you okay, Jiminie?”
“Yeah, just tired,” Jimin lied. His glass was now full and he attempted to sip from it. The cool water was a bit jarring, and it burned his throat and settled uneasily in his stomach.
“You slept through lunch,” Taehyung repeated. “And you kinda look like -”
“I just needed to sleep in today,” Jimin cut him off. Although he knew that Taehyung was about to say he looked bad.
“Taehyung-ah, the laundry service called again! You need to leave now and pick the sheets up!” Seokjin called from the living room.
Taehyung sighed in exasperation. “Hyung is insufferable! He’s been nagging all day!”
Right. Jimin nearly forgot that Taehyung and Seokjin had been on bad terms since this morning. He watched as Taehyung gripped his coffee mug tight, knuckles turning white.
“The laundry service will close at 5PM!” Seokjin called again.
“I still have another task to do,” Taehyung muttered, shaking his head.
“I can do it,” Jimin spoke up. He instantly regretted it. Why did he volunteer to run this errand in his current state!
“You can pick up the sheets?” Taehyung asked, surprised. Then his eyebrows furrowed. “But really, Jiminie, you don’t look so go - “
“I’m fine,” Jimin insisted. He cleared his throat and forced a smile. “I’ll do it. It’s just a few blocks away.”
Taehyung sighed and his shoulders visibly relaxed. Taking the weight off Taehyung’s back actually made Jimin feel a lot lighter. “Thank you Jimin,” his friend said. “This day has been tough work-wise. And I think the same goes for Seokjin-hyung. I honestly think that’s why he’s been all up in my business today. I’m just trying to be patient.”
“Don’t worry, Tae. I got this for us,” Jimin reassured him. “It’s the least I can do.”

It was not the least he could do. On a regular day, perhaps it was the least Jimin could have done to help his busy housemates out. But today he was definitely too sick to be trudging through the sweltering summer heat to make it to the laundry store almost a mile out.
He couldn’t even take the car, because it was currently with Yoongi at his own work trip. His housemates were really busy this week.
I have to make this same trip back, Jimin thought miserably. He swiped at his brow which was slick with sweat. His skin prickled under the heat but at the same time, he still couldn’t shake the chill deep in his bones. At least he wasn’t that nauseated anymore.
“I’m here to pick up the sheets we dropped off yesterday,” Jimin told the ahjumma at the front desk. “Under the name Kim Seokjin.”
The middle-aged lady smiled. She had adorable wrinkles next to her eyes which was telling of her jolly character. “Of course, chonggak.” She reached down and later came up with a neatly tied bag. “Here you go! It’s quite heavy, but you look strong enough to carry it to your car.”
Jimin’s arms faltered when he received the bag. It was heavier than he had expected. He felt heat rise to his cheeks in embarrassment. He probably looked extra scrawny now. “Actually, I walked here,” Jimin said. His heart sank, realizing how tough the walk back home would be for him.
“Oh dear, I hope you just live around the block, then,” the ahjumma said. Worry was now etched on her face, her eyebrows knit in concern. “But before you walk back home, do you want a drink? You look a bit tired.”
Jimin winced. Did he really look that bad? “I’m fine, Ajumeoni,” he lied. He swiped at his brow again and took a deep breath. Man, he was still sweating buckets despite already being indoors. “Anyway, I’ll be on my way. Thank you so much.”
The heat outside hit him like a wave - no, tsunami - in full force. Sweat dripped down his face, down his forehead and stung his eyes. His heart was hammering in his chest from exertion. His stomach had started to churn again. And the bag of clean sheets weighed heavily on his left shoulder.
His entire body was screaming in pain.
At some point, his vision blurred and he stumbled over his feet.
“Ooof,” he muttered as his palms met with the rough concrete. His knees absorbed most of the impact, which sent sharp pain shooting up his legs and hips. The sack of clean sheets fell next to him. He took a few seconds on all fours to steady his breathing. His heart was hammering away in his chest, he could hear the pounding in his ears and he could feel it inside his skull. His vision ebbed in and out.
He had a bit of a way to go until he got home, but Jimin could now barely make it back on his two feet.
This is pathetic, he thought. I’m so pathetic. I’ll be giving my friends way more work if I call for help.
And yet he had no strength left in his legs. He sat down and pulled his phone out, quickly dialing his eldest Hyung’s number.
Seokjin answered in 2 quick rings.
“Jimin-ah?”
“Hyung…” Jimin managed. He was still breathing heavily. “I’m so sorry.”
“Jimin, what’s wrong?” A bit of urgency seeped into Seokjin’s voice. “Are you okay? Why do you sound so out of breath? Did you run to the laundry store?”
“No,” Jimin replied. “But I-I…need help.”
“What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Where are you?”
Jimin could sense his hyung going into full panic mode. His gut twisted at this, he hated worrying his friends.
“I’m fine…” he began, then took a shaky breath. “I think I’m sick, and I feel terrible, and my entire body hurts and I can’t quite make it back home. But I’m fine, really -”
“Okay, your location on my phone says you’re a few meters away from home. Stay put, we’ll come get you.”
“Hyung -”
“Stay put, we’re getting you.”

“38.5 degrees,” Taehyung muttered. He set the ear thermometer down on the table and sighed. “You were sick this entire time?”
“Jimin-ah, what were you thinking?” Seokjin said as he wrung the cloth dry and proceeded to wipe Jimin’s arms down to cool him.
Jimin sat there, his eyes trained on the floor. The cool cloth that his hyung was running on his arms and neck felt soothing. He almost didn’t feel like he was overheating anymore.
“Jimin, you worried us,” Seokjin spoke again. But his voice was calmer this time, probably sensing that the younger boy just needed comfort right now. “Since when were you feeling sick?”
“This morning,” Jimin said slowly. “I wanted to ask if you had any remedies for an upset stomach, but you two were really busy with work.”
Seokjin and Taehyung shared a guilty look.
“I can’t believe we were too busy to notice that,” Seokjin sighed, hanging his head. “I’m sorry Jiminie.”
“If I had just done my end of the chores on time,” Taehyung mused. “Maybe hyung and I wouldn’t have been busy arguing today. Maybe we would have noticed you weren’t feeling well.”
“And I think I could have toned down on getting angry,” Seokjin said, meeting Taehyung’s gaze again. “I let my stress at work affect how I treat my dongsaengs.”
Jimin smiled a bit. The fever reducer Seokjin had given him was starting to kick in, and the sponge bath was doing wonders for him as well. But even better was seeing his friends start to make up.
“Thank you for picking me up,” Jimin said. “I really thought I could make it home, but my legs just gave away and I felt too weak to walk home.”
“Of course we’d come to get you!” Taehyung said, ruffling Jimin’s hair affectionately. “Please just don’t scare us like that again!”
“I’ll try not to,” Jimin said, smiling up at his soulmate.
He hadn’t noticed that Seokjin had left the room and gone in the kitchen to grab snacks. He came back with a tray of steaming mugs. “One for each of us,” he announced. “Ginger tea to soothe stomach aches and body pains.”
“I’ll make sure to wash these after we use them,” Taehyung replied as he reached over to grab a mug. He winked across the table at Seokjin, who chuckled and shook his head.
And as chaotic as the house of seven boys got, Jimin was just glad and grateful he got to call this place - and the people - his home.

I came to say that I always appreciate your long fics. i've seen that you've been apologizing for them, but know there are those of us out here who gets excited when we see the word count. With that said, write to your hearts content and never feel pressured to write as little or as much as you want :)
