With all the “Where’s the angel?” whining coming from THEM, there was a line from Mystery Spot that kept repeating in my head. Only thing is, I couldn’t find a gif of it.

Wow, they really are that stupid.

The main difference is that the ANGELS WOULD BE GONE FROM THE SHOW. There would have been NO love interest, because the show isn’t about ROMANTIC love. Jessica, Lisa, all of the random women that were in Sam and Dean’s arms are all GONE.

There would have been no ‘Castiel storylines’ because she should have suited her purpose and then the angels would have been written off the show., The ONLY reason they are still here in season 13 is because of HIM and especially THEM.

No mishy, no minions, NO FUCKING ANGELS.

Speaking of the road not taken, how about IF there hadn’t have been a writers strike in the first place. mishy would shill be doing one shot appearances in random shows and youtube videos. But then again, that is all he does now in his free time as a REGULAR on the show.

Now Claire I hate because the actress playing her can’t act for shit and she is useless and always needs saved but acts like she knows everything?! She made SAM stay behind and then listened to music when she knew there was a werewolf running around and got her dumb ass bitten.

It feels to me like the writers are so desperate to draw in a younger demographic they really don’t care that they’re re-framing hunting - previously a direct formula for a brutal unhappy life usually taken up by people with nothing left to lose - as a lark teenagers should be encouraged into.

They could have easily had Jody give Patience a contact number in case of future need of advice or perspective without disparaging Dean’s advice.  Not only was what he said better suited to a teenager who still has a good solid life?  It was advice from an actual life-long hunter, not a sheriff lingering on the fringes who fell pray to Suddenly ~A Hunter~ Syndrome and now has Opinions.

Dean is so engrossed in his grief that in this moment he seems to remember Sam as an afterthought, like “ah yes I still have one thing to hang on to, my brother”. I think it’s the first time in the whole show that Dean seems to forget his protector role towards Sam… and Cas’ death did that. In this moment, Dean’s last tiny sliver of hope (that maybe Jack can bring Cas back) has been shattered by Miriam, and he has to shake himself out of the literal punch in the face it’s been to remember Sam is still there to save…

I hate it for a lot of reasons, being edgy isn’t one of them. There are tons of reasons to hate this ship. Here are just a few:

their friendship doesn’t even make any sense & seems largely based on them ‘sharing a foxhole’ and being battle buddies rather than any genuine fondness for one another as individuals

Dean isn’t even nice to Cas most of the time

Dean was prepared to kill Cas in Season 7, not exactly a great love story

Dean doesn’t care about Cas very much at all as an individual and mainly uses him as a tool in his arsenal for hunting monsters

I don’t believe Dean could ever be in love with a supernatural being, particularly one who possessed a man by using his religiosity against him and manipulating him, it seems very OOC

I don’t believe Cas loves Dean in a romantic way, but in the sense that he’s the Winchesters’ guardian angel and they have a “profound bond”

the ”profound bond” is not even about how they feel about one another but is based on the fact that Cas was sent on a divine mission from God to save Dean from Hell to stop him from breaking the First Seal

the “profound bond” is not a choice made of their own free will but was a result of Cas following God’s orders without question, the meaning “profound bond” is contrary to Dean and Cas’ own character development, meaning it’s a dumb thing to uphold as a symbol of their characters whether romantically or otherwise…

the shippers are extremely annoying

the shippers behave exactly like a cult

the worst shippers are entitled brats who repeatedly act as though they speak for the entire fandom

the shippers are super shitty toward female characters who get in the way of their ship

the shippers spam their ship in every tag related to the show and get very mad when you give them a taste of their own medicine by tagging anti-destiel posts in any main tags

the shippers are too embarrassed to admit they just want Jensen/Misha steamy scenes because they find it sexy, so they try to make conflate their ship with LGBT rights

in doing so, they are hijacking a legitimate cause (more LGBT representation on TV) and making it look like those who ask for more rep are nothing but horny fangirls campaigning for hot white guys to make out on TV, which makes those who legitimately want LGBT representation (and not just the kind that validates sex fantasies) less likely to be taken seriously

the shippers say they just want LGBT representation but then they harass LGBT people who say they don’t ship it or don’t want Destiel or bisexual!Dean as representation because it’s a shitty relationship and Dean is not good rep

the shippers harass cast and crew on social media for any perceived slight or threat to their ship

the shippers ask bullshit leading questions at conventions making the actors uncomfortable and forcing them to try and be diplomatic and give awkward answers

the shippers of this particular ship can’t manage to enjoy their fanfic and fan art and fantasies like every other ship manages to do, they have to seek out official validation constantly from the actors, writers and crew for some reason

the extreme shippers are the loudest and make the entire fandom look bad to everyone else on the internet, to the point where I’m embarrassed to even say I like Castiel because I might get mistaken for one of these nutjobs

the shippers misinterpret literally the entire show and twist everything that happens into a cheesy, cringe-inducing gay soap opera so asinine nobody in their right mind would ever want to watch it if it were real

the ship is the herpes of tumblr, it gets everywhere and is impossible to get rid of it

You forgot to add that there is nothing “mainstream” about Destiel, since the vast majority of the fandom (by shippers’ own poll approximately 98% of the fandom, iirc, which undoubtedly inflated the ship’s numbers as such polls do because of sampling bias) are not Destiel shippers. I have met literally dozens of Supernatural fans “in the wild” (away from the online cesspits and outside of cons/SPN-related events) and not a single one is a Destiel shipper. Not one. Approximately a quarter actively despise the ship, the rest are not in the online fandom at all. Stop trying to make it seem like “oh, everyone ships Destiel” because the fact is that most fans don’t. There’s nothing wrong with being in the minority. It just makes you look sad, desperate, deluded, or shockingly ignorant to pretend like fans of any ship are the “majority” of fans for any show that doesn’t have a single romantic aspect to it.

The ship is met with vitriol because of entitled “oh, we’re the majority” “it’s so obviously canon” and “we must be right because there’s so many of us” deluded bullshit from a screeching minority of Destiel shippers. The only place Destiel shippers are “right” is in fanfiction that they write (which is the point of fanfiction!) and they are only the majority in their corner of the fandom. It’s too bad more of them don’t venture out into the real world. The most commonly cited reason I see that Destiel shippers are met with vitriol is that the ‘hellers are pervasively insulting to absolutely everyone involved with the show, most especially Jensen though that just edges out Jared (both treated abominably, if differently).

Jensen is tired of their questions about biDean and destiehell, and their shoutouts of “Castiel”.

The only ones impressed with their grand numbers are themselves. The mindless sheep that think that destiehell is canon because TUMBLR said it and then watch the show and either get extremely disappointed or realize they have been tricked but STILL ‘see’ it every where.

OK couple of  things, not everyone ships Destiel more like 1% of the fandom, they are just very loud and very annoying. Dean isn’t in love with Castiel and it isn’t real. Take a step back from the fanfic.

Now I don’t like Dean x Jo but I see why people do. I just don’t think Dean was in love with her. He did “love”/Care about her but not in a romantic way. In S4 in the ep it’s a terrible life Ellen is his mum and Jo is his sister. Again that shows he see’s her as a kid sister more then anything. Yes he finds her hot because in S2 Dean even says normally he would be hitting on her and  in S5 he wanted to sleep with her but head over heels in love? No way.

As for Jo she very clearly had a crash on Dean and cared about him. She did end up dying to save Dean but wouldn’t call it romantic love.
