âThis video of this adorable little girl encouraging her Dad while he tries to do her hair, is just what we needed to brighten up our day.â [X]
[Dad: Howâm I doing on your hair? Child: Good! Dad: Letâs see, do I need more grease? Child: Yes. You need more grease on there. Dad: More grease? And then what? Child: And then you gonna need to brush it, and then you put a band on there. Dad: A band on it? Child: Yeah! Dad: Aww.. Child: Youâre getting it through! Youâre almost done! Youâre doing a good job! Dad: Aww, thank you, sweetheart, so much! Daddyâs trying, doing the best I can. Thank you so much. Child: Youâre welcome! Dad: Iâm almost done! Child: You been doing great! Dad: Aw baby, thank you so much, youâre so encouraging to Dad. Thank you. Child: Youâre welcome. Dad: I really appreciate you so much. Youâre so awesome. Me as a father
this is so pure
Kids that age are parrots of tone and phrasing. So the whole bit with âYouâre getting it through! Youâre almost done! Youâre doing a good job!â means that there is at least one adult, if not more, in her life that regularly talks to her that way.
Everything about this video makes me happy.
âI am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einsteinâs brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.â
-Stephen Jay Gould.
This quote is great because so was Einstein himself! He never saw himself as a genius, as a mind like no other. He saw himself as a guy who studied alot and he was very dedicated to give that opportunity to others. He also spoke very openly against racism and was one of the few professors that thought black people at the time. Here are some great pictures of him in 1946
Adding onto this: I really recommend Einsteinâs short, entry-level essay âWhy Socialism?â, found here. Itâs ~10 min read and it does a great job of explaining the crux of socialism.Â
Here are some of his major points:
The individual and society form a symbiotic relationship. A healthy individual needs a healthy society and a healthy society needs healthy individuals.
Capitalism undermines democracy by concentrating wealth into the hands of an economic elite, which in turn funds a political elite to represent its interests in government. The ultra-rich also control the media and educational systems to manipulate public opinion and prevent free thought. (Here Einstein is pre-empting Noam Chomsky and Ed Hermanâs propaganda model).
Capitalismâs profit motive entails human needs going unmet to satisfy human greed. Â
The âworst evilâ of capitalism is the crippling of individuals, which begins in school where an exaggerated competitive attitude is inculcated into the student.
A transition to socialism is necessary to overcome these problems, and is in fact imperative to avert constant warfare and ecological catastrophe. We need a fully democratic society where societyâs productive capacity is not concentrated into the hands of a few, but owned by workers and society itself.Â

5 states in the US have banned abortion from the point of heartbeat detection. Following that logic, I propose two additional policies:
1. Child support starts at the same point, including 50% of all medical bills
2. If the mother dies in mandated childbirth OR the child is stillborn, the father and doctor are charged with involuntary manslaughter.
See how keen they are on their âPro-lifeâ horseshit then.
3. Pregnant women canât be in jail because the fetus would be in jail, and since itâs a full human you would be punishing an innocent person
why is this being reported like itâs a good thing? and itâs not just women who are at risk, Iâm sure this would cause hell for illegal immigrants and people who are running from abusers
What would happen is: murder, sexual assault, home invasion, burglary, stalking, abuse, doxxing, kidnapping
And this goes for everyone, especially Poc, queer folks, disabled folks, immigrants and women.
(I most likely even forgot some.)
In short: hell would break loose. Sounds like a fucking black mirror episode.

They literally hate for employees to do anything but slave away I swear
This is literally my job I get all my work done in an hour and my boss always trying to catch me sitting down
Most office jobs really donât require 40 hours a week of work. You should be able to just do what you need to do and then move on. Offices would be more efficient if people were rewarded (with going home) when they finish stuff early.
I donât know why most jobs want you to sit doing nothing for like 8 hours a day. Who does that benefit?
Psst it benefits an economy built on the premise that your time and energy are extremely limited.
Itâs also built.on the assumption that youâre supposed to be paid for time, not work. The employer here is irritated because the employee gets the same amount of work done in less time, but wants him to work more.for the same pay as others, focusing on time, not whatâs actually getting done.
Heâs telling his employees that the work doesnât matter, as long as he owns them.for a certain time period and the work gets done in there somewhere.
I also want to make it abundantly clear this is why people say âfuck copsâ and why âBlue Lives Matterâ is bullshit. It may only be a âhandfulâ of corrupt cops (which is also bullshit) but itâs the entire institution behind them that enables them and refuses to take any form of accountability. Every single cop is complicit. Every single one.
