this might be my silly inconsequential take about this but I think you should support your friends' art endeavours in whatever ways you can and very vehemently

say nice shit about their art. fangirl about it, compliment the art fundamentals or the vibe or the color whatever. share their posts online

it used to be so easy to create an art community online in the past and now it's hellish. fight the algorithms. spam your friends art. they will either rlly appreciate the attention or straight up need it.

theres something slightly heartbreaking about the thought that the people around you don't care about your creations. by all means, you should create art for yourself but also, sometimes that art is a direct window into your inner world and when friends and loved ones ignore that it can sting pretty bad

that's it folks be nice to each other out there and fight to create meaningful communities

Heyy everyone! Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, one that has been repeatedly requested by my lovely patreon members-- with a caveat! There were frequent requests for two scenes: one where Sophie tells Howl to find her in the future, and the 'There you are' scene in the beginning. I decided to bridge the gap between these two scenes and show something we've never seen before - the secret moment when Howl tracks Sophie down using matching ring he gave to Sophie. If you'll notice in the movie, it's sparkling just as he puts his hand on her shoulder. I thought it would be a fun 'what if' fanart for this off-screen theory. :)

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

I'm all for the nerd!Bucky interpretation of the Hobbit scene in TFATWS, but also consider: big brother!Bucky. He has like 5 younger siblings in some canon earths (I don't think it's 616, but I've come across it somewhere). Of course a big brother Bucky would adopt a scrappy, scrawny Steve on sight, and of course he would take the time to find a book his family would all enjoy reading. Maybe there was a young British boy in Brooklyn who shared the copy his aunt sent him for Christmas, on the condition "Uncle Buck" read it to all the neighborhood kids. They'd all sit around him in a circle, so invested as he spun the tale and made it come alive just like Tolkien would have wanted, voices and epic meter like a true fairy tale being passed on. And Steve would never admit it, but he was always conveniently around to hear. Somewhere in the depths of his private art books, there's even a full set of illustrations.

I had another thought. Those illustrations? fanart from what was destined to become a massive franchise with a full cult and 6 epic length movies?

If Steve woke up from the ice IN 2012, which is THE SAME YEAR The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released, can you imagine? Either Cap had left his journal behind, and Colonel Phillips gave it to the Smithsonian or maybe it was Peggy and she hung on to it or Coulson managed to salvage, thaw, and carefully restore the entire notebook if it went down with the plane. No matter how it made it to the present day, there would be a very niche group of the biggest nerds to ever live absolutely LOSING it because that is the most insane crossover no one could ever anticipate. America's Golden boy drew Bagginshield? Captain America got called Gollum by his best friend? Steve Rogers is bizarrely good at dragon anatomy?

And when Bucky comes back, and he's rereading and refamiliarizing himself with this world he lost, what if there's a corner of the Smithsonian that has a display of Steve's art. And that's what sparks the memories, the spirit of "Bucky." Yes, seeing his friends, the Howling Commandos, more real than they feel in the newsreels, drawn with love and with out of context (impolite) quotes scrawled in the margins of doodles done by moonlight.

But what really makes the past come back is a different page. The one with a dragon and dwarves and wizards and funny hairy men with big feet, and where everything else feels like a memory from someone else, these are the illustrations that spark some of his personality. He stops by a library to get a copy of the Hobbit to relive some of the memories of his siblings and his childhood. And he finds out about Lord of the Rings? and the Silmarillion?? and suddenly he's a nerd again, and he's back on the streets of Brooklyn reading to the kids to give them something better than getting in fights. And it starts as fond memories, but maybe he really does find a street corner and read out loud to whoever cares to listen. Maybe he finds a copy for each country he's in, or he translates as he reads in Romanian, or Russian, or French. because Hydra can strip him of all his memories, but nothing can separate a brotherly heart from loving others or a true diehard from their fandom.

It is a TRAVESTY that DC/Marvel did not make a Nightwing/Nightcrawler amalgam in the 90s. Smiley, sexy, slightly womanizing circus acrobat with a tragic backstory and a v-neck with red/blue/black aesthetics? who did I just describe? it's equally true of Kurt and Dick.

Creeper/Nightcrawler may have captured the aesthetic of brightly colored furry chaos demon, but Jack Ryder himself is a yellow journalist and more of a periphery character. Eddie Brock Venom would have been better, to capture the separation between the aliases.

I actually quite dislike Moon Knight/Nightwing, because Dick would never wear a cape for one. Also, Dick takes responsibility for his temper and violence, he doesn't need DID, man has enough trauma. Give Harvey a redemption arc with Khonshu manipulating the coin or something.

But anyway, Nightwing/Nightcrawler amalgam. You can give Dick back his Roma heritage and have him come from Europe. His name can be Kurt Grausen, so we can talk about it in polite company and it's super fun, because "Grau" is german for "Gray" (so it sounds like it could be Grayson) but "Grausen" is actually "Horror" which is how people view Wagner. I'm still workshopping the alter ego name, but a WingCrawler would be a bat... or maybe just Nacht (German for night). I couldn't do the German for Bat, because no one would take Herr Fledermaus seriously as a hero...

And while I understand they split Bruce Wayne off from Batman, Batman is crossed with Wolverine. and you know who has something between a father-son mentorship and best frenemies relationship with both those characters? Nightwing and Nightcrawler! It's just too perfect. Logan got to have Jubilee and Tim as Sparrow, let him have his other children too!

Basically, we're not just matching aesthetics, but roles, dynamics, and character. I probably have more to say, but we'll get to that later...

besides Bhutan, nobody has the guts to put a DRAGON (massive hmo) on their flag.
