Painting my way through RotE summer, here's a more pleasant scene from Royal Assassin of Fitz & Nighteyes playing.

I'm overcoming my fear of documenting the ugly stages, so read more if you want to see some progress pics.

First thing's first, here was my reference picture, which I lack credit for, but I had to share because look at that goofy goober.

Started with a pencil sketch for this one, since I wanted to make sure Nighteyes fit in the frame.

Getting the base in place. A tip I learned is to go warm when painting your first layer for living things. It gives them a lifelike glow.

More details, hitting peak ugly phase here.

I try to use a very limited palatte to keep things unified. This one was painted with Pyrrol Red (Daniel Smith), Hansa Yellow Medium (Daniel Smith), Indigo (Holbein Irodori) and Permanent White.

Piece is finally coming together, more fine brush details and gave it a bit of a background

Added a warm yellow glow, some darker shadows, and the final details.

For the this year's celebration of the Glorious 25th of May let me present to you my latest project.

Lady's Sybil Ramkin leather corset for a stage adaptation of sir Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards! From sketch to final costume with lovely Errol the Dragon.

Corset made from genuine textured sheepskin and a lots of brass details like buckles, eyelets and studs. Straps has functional buckles and can be adjusted if necessary. Corset has cotton lining with lilac blossom print (I'm not sorry, I can't help myself, I wouldn't miss this chance for a little Easter hard-boiled egg). All creative processes was under strict supervision of my copilot Jarvis, as usual.

I realize this makes me both old and square but I would love if any public event, ever, started when it was supposed to. This whole "it starts at 7:30 but actually at 8 and if people are still coming in at 8 we might push it to 8:30" bullshit has got to stop. I was already going to be getting out past my bedtime and it's a Wednesday! Most of us have jobs in the morning!

since i am extremely done with ai slop, i stuck my nose into a box of gouache and finished a full sketchbook, and hey, have some knights from the Seven Kingdoms, i guess..?

i know for a fact this post isn't going to do numbers, but i am really glad i tried this, it was... therapeutic

(gonna record the next sketchbook marathon, it's very relaxing as a process)
