I just do random things and stopped caring as much. Kind of a therapy to talk. I do crochet and knitting and questionable art of assorted kinds while drinking hot drinks and stuff. Can't size up, rip. I don't have a 1.5 hook. I have 0.75 and 1.75. Too small and too big. The 1.75 is too big and it's noticeable BUT WE CRACK ON. THE PAIN WILL LEAD TO GAIN.

And like, it says the hook is small and creates thick stitches and stuff but I haven't had that problem that is I have no issues inserting the hook into the stitches and stuff and I CAN keep the tension consistent. The fabric is turning a bit firm but that was expected and like I'm not gonna frog now unless the shop lady says it's not good. She's the master right now like I know my mama would tell me, but I want this to be a surprise so I don't want to show it to her. STEAMING AND BLOCKING WILL WORK. It's not really THAT tight it's just a little wavy here and there on the closed squares PLUS I used 1.25 on nº6 before for a doily and it worked.

Case in point:

Made a different one and it also worked. Then I made one with a 2mm and it also worked so like yeah, the stitches can turn a bit tight but with steaming and blocking it SHOULD be fine. And I think I have a good grasp on tension. Even with the towel I'm making sometimes I pull too little and have to pull back redo the stitch because it's too loose. I don't have limp hands, I just know I'm working with a small hook so I need to be careful and consistend and so far, I think I've done it. TRUST THE PROCESS, DON'T LOSE FOCUS, DEDICATE YOUR HEART!

Spooky day, happy day, and it's the day of the dead and the day of my birth. I need help and I'm pitching fiber art commissions if you want it.

Started a new doily no pics yet okay. I'm trying to follow instructions from my mum's 80s magazines. I am struggling. I have had to frog it some five times because I just don't understand the schemes and symbols and referring to the photo helps but I learnt this stuff in English and well. The magazines are in old school tutorial form and also in Spanish. Which I speak yes but I don't understand the abbreviations (thankfully they have a guide at the end for that) and the schemes and the instructions seem alien as shit. Then my mum was laughing because of my wee baby with video tutorials spoon fed how to way I learnt and struggling to understand the hardcore only for the chosen tutorials of ye olde days /joking/. It's just the evolution of things I guess. I mean back then there was no YouTube or shows where someone sat and taught patterns lol and I'm doing it old school style for the first time, and that's how she learnt. She got the basics from my illiterate grandma who couldn't read patterns obviously but she was so sharp that one close look at something was enough for her to learn how to make it. And she came up with her own patterns as she went like. She was a prodigy in her own right and she was never recognised because she never got the opportunity to learn how to read or write. Not only that she was a maths genius it was insane how quickly she calculated things and she only knew the concept of numbers and quantities, not how to write them. Meanwhile I'm horrible at maths lol treading quickly into dangerous mental territory ooop I won't give up. I wish I could do video tutorials for tiny hook crochet doilies since some people seem to want that (I saw one video for 1.25mm and everyone in the comments was saying that) but I don't have a camera that would allow that welp at this point the truth is that if you don't have money you can't make money. The doily adventures continue lol the top isn't wrong, it's just scrunched in and I am too tired mentally to take a different picture just imagine that you pull the scrunched in bit, it looks like the other holes on the same row. I just didn't steam or block or whatever that does. My mum says I should because cotton is safe to iron and steam and she's super turbo expert level. 2mm hook this time because I am experimenting and the roll recommended that so I gave it a go. It worked. I feel like I have some solid grip on tension not to toot my own darn (eh) horn because I think the tension is consistent throughout and this is my third "small hook" project. I wish I had freedom and my own place so that I could fill it with colourful whimsy like this stuff ahhhh the patterns I've been following are all on a wesbite called blueraindrops.com. It's good there just be mindful that you need to be careful of the instructions because sometimes 'sl st into the 3rd chain of frst chain 3 means the first chain you made there not the third one, if that makes sense. First ever doily. Done with this little devil but I feel like a full hardcofe mf because I did this in a couple of hours. Yes it takes hours because it's a tiny hook. Using the same yarn and the same 1.25mm crochet hook. I gave my little dolly whose name is uh Gillian because I looked at my X files poster just now lol made her a dress and a matching bucket hat let's goooo i like that younger people online call this "tiny crochet". My whole life I thought THIS was crochet, it wasn't until recently that I learnt that there are massive hooks and chunky yarn lmao the more you know. Genuinely not to toot my own horn but this stuff was freehanded and I'm shocked that I can keep the tension consistent like it doesn't curl and the stitches aren't loose. Wild shiz fr

Classic crochet granny square done with a 1.25mm hook. I feel real gangsta for being able to actually do this on the first try yeehaw let's go grannycore shit type beat whatever I like the colours also (didn't buy the yarn myself, it was stuff my mum had lying around)
