i feel like an often overlooked downside to 10-episode seasons and the death of the "monster of the week" format is that we get way less whump variety nowadays. used to be that there'd be dozens of opportunities for your fave to get punched or kidnapped or hypnotized or what have you. these days if it doesn't fit into the main plot, it just doesn't happen. this is a tragedy. we should be protesting.

having adhd is kind of like being a detective all the time where you are also your own suspect and the mysteries are things like "the case of the picked up my phone to google something and then instantly lost a ten minute block of time" and the clues are when you look around and notice the stimuli that prompted you to pick up your phone to google the thing and remember you were trying to google something so you go through a deductive process called "what would i do, if i were me" and solve the mystery of your own behaviour by thinking like yourself and putting yourself in your own shoes so you can follow the trail of your own suspicious actions and eventually solve the mystery by figuring out what you would have done, i.e. open google maps because the mystery was location based, so you open google maps and discover you did look the thing up that you were going to look up you just tabbed away from the app before it finished loading so you could do something else while you waited for it to load and then forgot about the entire endeavour. but now you know the answer has been sitting right there patiently fully loaded for you to uncover. mystery solved. and you're the greatest detective in the world.
