Just ‘cause you all are such Nice People, here are the next installments to my Small Critters Set (un-official name)(there are still two more coming!). Now you can keep a spider in your bedroom, if you are so inclined, or anywhere else that you may want. (I’m not a big fan of arachnids…) Additionally, you now can have a new piece of furniture - a new coffee table that is an aquarium, as well! Gee, who could have thought of that? (I TOTALLY made this after seeing the trailer…)(In reality, the ‘special aquarium’ that I had been working on was/is going to be one that fits into a wall as a cutout, and would be visible from both sides… kind of like the one from Sims 3 ITF) The Spider cage was cloned from the same Get To Work display case that the Iguana is, so to have the spider you will need EP01. The coffee table, on the other hand, is a Base Game item, being constructed from the Boneyard Benny Bones tank (Base Game required to use) The coffee table is not a 'true aquarium’, as I *suspect* that the upcoming one will not be either. We shall see… There are 5 different combinations of fish, based off of my previous release HERE, each with a choice of five different tank coloring, the choices are (8 fish each tank): 'Forest’ fish -Green*, Blue fish - Blue*, Colorful fish - Pink*, Spooky fish - Black*, and Koi/Goldfish - Orange*. All have been updated with the newly available fish since that set was released. As with ALL of these items, they are an effect only, and not a 'real’ critter or collectible item. I am pretty Proud of myself for how much work I put into it… The base of the spider tank has six slots, and the table is all slotted-up and ready to go!
The flies in the ointment for these items are:
The spider can be 'shy’, in that it appears that is one goes far away in a neighborhood, the spider will disappear. Same with sometimes first placing the tank itself. I suspect that there is some randomness programmed into the effect. To help counter this I have enabled the Shift-Click option of “Reset Object”, which will eventually get it to come out from wherever it was hiding…
For the coffee table, same as my New Fishing Hole HERE, the item has multi-tuning in it, and will throw a script error if you try to change the color or style. You will need to make your choice when placing it. The choices are determined by the third color in the swatches as above*.
Change log for the previous files in this set (same links, same files to overwrite):
The Iguana Cage was re-positioned so as not to clip into the wall anymore when placing, slightly toned-down specular on the stand, and three new wood-toned swatches
The Blue & Red Parrot Branches had the spot of shadow removed from the branch, as I did not care for it there when they were away, and added were added to Activity | Misc. in addition to the original.
While the Iguana cage had slots on the bottom shelf, I had forgotten about slots for the Toucan. That has now been addressed
The Toucan Perch now has 7 additional swatches that were added to the original 4 for eleven total, and I re-colored some of the branches with the swatches to better coordinate
A Short Note: While I am as Salty as everyone is these days, if not more so, all of these items we can have because the Sims 4/3 team(s) made them. All of the items & textures in this set are made by Maxis, 0% external sourcing. I only just know how to bring them to realization, such as they are, with all that is needed to make them work… If Only…
