I've successfully scraped all of the available Custom Content that was linked on GOS from Mediafire, Box, and SimFileShare. (Mirrors on 4shared not included)
Of course, I can't go back in time to retrieve things that are already long gone but here's a .zip of 49 GBs of content. This is everything from the beginning of GOS to September 2023.
This is the entire site's worth of custom content scraped. There are a few things that you need to know.- This is not checked to see if depe
'Just switch to linux', 'Just switch to firefox', 'Just switch to ellipsus', 'Just buy a VPN and pirate it' okay, or- hear me out- tech companies can stop making their products worse, because I shouldn't have to change my entire workflow and spend time and money learning new programs and tools just to have a bearable online experience
not to be that guy but,,, no? tech companies cannot do that? their goal is to make $$$, not a good user experience or make the world better. I absolutely empathise with the fact that we were raised with a certain workflow that didnt have the best for us in mind in the long run, and that we were raised during a time where good technology was ostebsibly profitable. but thats not the world we live in anymore. so now we can either keep complaining that its raining, or we can buy an umbrella.
yeah that was because ppl pirated a lot back in the olden days. netflix saw an opportunity to give people easier AND legal access to movies, which is why it was so good (briefly).
With netflix in its prime, piracy went down. netflix got bigger and bigger and – because they thought they don't need to "compete" with piracy anymore – they started getting shittier.
Companies only provide good service when the people remind them that there are alternatives and that they are replaceable. This has always been the case. The time when big tech was actually somewhat good and providing good service was very, very brief and it was majorly driven by the fact that there were alternatives and people were willing to use said alternatives unless big tech made them an irresistible offer. But I guess younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha wouldn't know that because they literally grew up in that short timeframe and don't know what it was like before.
I'm from an older generation. I didn't have Netflix when it was good. I had cable. I've seen things diminish in quality for twenty years now. Linux might be the way but at this point I do not have it in me to try.
i haven't received any donations in almost a week and i am struggling really badly. i have bills that are going to get cut off and i need benadryl and food, as my food stamps are out.
if you can help me, i would really appreciate it. i'm sorry for making so many posts but i am floundering and my mental illness is getting a little out of control. my MDD is acting up and i'm unable to function very well.
you can commission me to do ts2 cc. i can do 4t2 hairs, f2m and age conversions of hair, retextures, recolors, handpainting clothing textures, converting clothing to bodyshapes, and other cas things.
saw this today on their website, and i'm honestly at a loss for words. they put a deposit on our account because we haven't been able to pay it on time recently, so this amount is non-negotiable, i've already tried. i may be able to get an extension but that's about it. please help me, any amount helps. it all adds up. i don't want to be without electricity in november because we use mostly electric heat.
If you could share this with the community for more feedback - I would be very grateful, sending everyone spooky hugs~
Try it
What's this: an online tool, which helps to randomize some common things in TS2 (works on mobile devices, yay, but you have to start it from horizontal screen orientation).
Why: You probably know how much stuff in the community rely on random number generators: townies creation, random events, in-game teen aging, etc.
I'm aware that there are a handful of similar tools online. Initially I made this for myself, since I wanted everything to be in the same place. For a long-long time this was just a text on white background.
But recently I decided I want to start to contribute to the sims community, which I was silently "stalking" for years (for decade?). I booked a weekend to make an interface, it's ugly thought, since my UI skills are negative :D But at least it's functioning, so...
Use cases
Randomize CAS sims personality, genetics, chemistry (known issue: sometimes you might receive a sim with 10+ nice points, on my list to fix, but treat it as a sign to create super sweet bun for your hood)
Randomize sliders clicks to create sims in Bodyshop, based on this tutorial by Pooklet (generates randomized clicks in one list, you can adjust amount of face templates and sliders according to how many you have, up to 35 each)
First 250 out of 500 random events, based on this list by @lavender-noire (really appreciate I got permission to use it <3). And I kinda like how it turned out ^^'
Last, but not the least...
It started as personal project, but I'm happy to listen to community's suggestion what else could be added there!
I am considering pets rnd, specific legacy related rnd, adding adequate randomizer for townies skills and badges. Background music? Dark mode UI? Sometimes random events require additional 1dN randomization, so i might add this as well.

I'm convinced that if you try & get too close to actually making a game that could rival the Sims, EA will make you disappear & erase all memory of your existence forever.
Terrance, Omar and Shondra are Royce and Francis' kids, Rosa's nephews and niece, and Babette's cousins. Terrance likes to dress punk rock like his old man but he's even more family-oriented than his dad. Omar's fanciful, liking to dress like a squire and bounce around. Shondra has always been attuned to nature, wanting to know the scientific ways the world moves.
On the surface, Royce and Francis Joseph seem like an odd pair. Royce is an alternative, non-conformist, while Francis is a bougie trendsetting career woman. Their extremes balance each other out, resulting in a happy marriage and three beautiful children.
Babette Joseph is the apple of her mother's eye. A wiz kid who stays out of trouble. She loves her Mom and her achievements but she can't help but wonder if there's more to life. Can she live a little before heading off to college?
Meet Rosa Joseph, the legacy founder. Don't let her rosy cheeks fool you, this woman does not play about her family and her community. A practical woman, Rosa devotes her time between educating the youth of SimNation and raising her daughter to be a proper young lady. Rosa's expectation is an upcoming empty nest. But, that's the thing about life, it's full of the unexpected.
The youngest of her siblings, Zola is newly married to her high school sweetheart and has no desire to work a regular day to day job. While she doesn't work, she holds a bachelor's degree in drama and loves dancing/acting. The luxury of staying home, indulging in hobbies, and maintaining the home she shares with her husband is her idea of the perfect life. Watching her siblings, the overworked workaholic and the starving artist, she fears ending up like them. It reaffirms that she made the right decision. Eager to start her own family and have special bonds with her future children, she is the only one out of her siblings who has great relationships and holds special bonds with both of her parents.
I see a lot of people are sorting out their downloads folders and I thought I’d offer up my advice because I like to think someone might find it useful.
Poppy Maryns is working as a nanny in Wishtown. She's very nurturing and gets along with kids. And if she doesn't get along with them, some magic always helps ;)
I've been reading your BACC and recalled your old family tree. I know both are separate continuities but I had some questions. Are Annika and Anastacia comparative or just sisters of Marcus in different universes? Any Latal lore? How are Iziliel and Aruena related? Who was Remus' mother? And lastly, what happened to Godric's father Phillip?
Hi Peridotlionheart! (love your username! 💚)
First things first: thank you SO MUCH for your thoughtful message! 🥰 I'm actually stoked to know that people find my silly pixel world immersive enough not only to follow, but also to ask questions about it!
I have to say, I've given this ask a lot of thought. Your questions prompted me to take a deep-dive into my memories as well as my awful Pre-simblr 2010 Screenshots Folder™, which is always a fun trip. The result was an entire illustrated mini novel!
Because of this, I'm going to have to split the ask into several parts. Two warnings:
1) LOTS of old lore incoming!
2) Some of the old screenshots I unearthed are straight-up awful game-camera pics dug up from the 'Screenshots' folder. Yes, the 'Screenshots' folder. Turns out, a lot of my early gameplay was only documented with the in-game camera and nothing else. Don't say you haven't been warned! 💀
As a side note, this and the following posts will be divided into sections. That'll hopefully keep things more coherent.
And because no multi-part series is complete without a silly name, I'm calling this one: Esotheria Does Simchaeology.
For starters, a bit of background info: Around 2009-2010, the custom hood I played was called Maggie Town (named after my beloved pet. RIP Maggie, smartest dog I've ever known). Maggie Town was where a fair share of my oldest sims were born, including some featured in my current BaCC.
Circa 2012, Maggie Town got rebranded and became Margitaville, because the old name felt a bit juvenile.
Now, here's where the timeline gets a bit muddled. I know for a fact that the next name change for Margitaville was Neo Margitaville, and I want to be able to say that the name change occurred in 2014. Neo Margitaville was the last hood I played before starting my current BaCC in 2017, after all. However, while digging through my old pics, I came across screenshots of Margitaville that are dated 2014, and screenshots of Neo Margitaville that are dated 2012. I'm not sure how the math is mathing there, but maybe the timestamps just got messed up. What I can say for sure is that the timeline between 2009 and 2017 went like so: Maggie Town -> Margitaville -> Neo Margitaville.
It's worth noting that there were two iterations of Neo Margitaville: the older hood, and the newer, so-called RBACC edition (which stands for 'rebuild-a-city challenge'. I totally made that acronym up). The RBACC hood was on the same map I'm using for my current hood, and kinda looked like a blend of modern and medieval. It got quite a bit of screen time on my blog, and even has its own dedicated tag!
When I reinistalled TS2 after getting a new PC, I decided I'd start fresh with a real BaCC (I talked a bit more about my motivations behind it in this post from September 2017). So with a heavy heart, I said goodbye to RBACC Neo Margitaville in 2017 and started a new chapter on my simming journey.
The first pics of Wyvern's Bay dropped in October 2017, and by February 2019, I started playing my first families!
I feel that providing this context will be helpful for deciphering my confounding scribblings in the upcoming posts.
This has been so much fun going through your Sim history @esotheria-sims. What started my interest was @danies-simsational-blog's 3t2 Sunset Valley. It's part of my Uberhood in a blend of the past and present. I also added carrit from MTS' ancestral sims to the neighborhood, creating an Uberhood within an Uberhood. I had downloaded your Moonfeather/Blackbird kids years ago and thought it would be interesting to add their ancestors to Sunset Valley. Thank you for posting!
