Started reading Project Hail Mary and just the first 10 pages are really well written, the way the memories are brought back to the main protagonist is GOOD(I fangirled(for a lack of better term) about it in a 3 minute audio to my partner), hope it keeps the good writing!!!

Hey, you are not an embarrassment for not knowing how to do certain household chores/basic self-care. They do not come naturally to us. A lot of it takes practice! Maybe you had a neglectful guardian. Maybe you had one that was very coddling and never thought to teach you. Maybe you haven't lived in a place where these things were available to you or needed. Doesn't matter. It's okay to not know and far more common than you might realise.
That said, this website provides very simple instructions on how to do everyday tasks such as making your bed, using a washing machine, cooking different foods, washing dishes, taking a shower, etc. All you have to do is use the search bar to find the task you're struggling with, and it'll come up with what you need + other related how-to's:)
If you're having trouble navigating it, let me provide you with some examples:
How to clean dishes by hand
How to make your bed (with visual demonstrations of each step!)
How to fold clothes (with visual demonstrations of each step!)
How to take a shower & dry yourself off (also provides ways to shave beards, armpits, legs and genitals)
How to shave legs, armpits, beards, pubic areas, etc. (a more in-depth guide)
How to mop the floor
How to sweep the floor
How to swallow pills
How to make small talk
How to make eye contact in different situations (or how to avoid it while still looking natural)
It's also perfectly okay if these don't help or aren't appealing to you. Unfortunately, nothing helps everyone.
Also if the reason you don't know is developmental , intelectual or learning disabilities making you struggle even if you've been taught a bunch of times , you are so cool and awesome too :^) [smiley face ]
This shit really isnt intuitive at all unfortunately
I don't struggle with all of these things(only a few), but I will reblog too so more people can see it

"Keep doing things you don't like and step out of your comfort zone"
Why? So that I can be "stronger"? I don't want to be stronger. I want to rest, I want to sleep, I want to indulge in my hobbies, I need to.
I'm so so tired, wtheck man, I want to sleep.
This comic only mentions different hallucinations based on sensory modality (which sense it impacts) but there are other ways to categorise hallucinations such as the theme of the hallucination or the severity of the hallucination
Hallucinations don’t only affect schizospec people and can happen to people without a psychotic disorder or any mental illness/condition
WAIT EQUILIBRIOCEPTION HALLUCINATIONS ARE A THING? Oooh...so that's what happened... I thought I was having a panic attack
sent this message to my coworker today and he sent me this screenshot with microsoft teams's suggested replies... incredible 10/10 no notes.
“What if I write it and it’s bad-”
WHAT IF YOU WRITE IT AND ITS GOOD? WHAT IF YOU WRITE IT AND ITS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANTED? WHAT THEN????
Infantilisation sucks. I hate it so much.
I am not a child. No matter how much I may act like one, think like one, or have needs like one, I am not and never again will be a child. I have more life experiences than a child does and that is important.
Sometimes I may need to be treated similarly (pt: similarly) to a child but I never want to be treated like I AM a child.
I do not want you to talk to me in such a babying voice but I appreciate that you are trying to be considerate of me even if you're going about it wrong.
I do not want to be treated like I'm some "innocent little baby" because I am not. I can make and understand sexual jokes (sometimes because i have trouble processing jokes and sarcasm). I can engage in and enjoy sexual content. I can also take part in sexual activities/interactions (though I won't because I'm ace).
The only people I'm OK with treating me similarly to a child are my parents because they're not actually treating me like a child, they're treating me like the autistic teen that I am who happens to have needs similar to a child's.
The difference between being infantilised and how my parents treat me is that; my parents acknowledge my autism, they acknowledge (most of) my needs, they acknowledge my age, they acknowledge my life experiences, and they acknowledge that how I need to be treated changes; people who infantilise me don't acknowledge any of that and treat and think of me as though I am a child as if I'm "less-than".
Also, the fact that being treated like a child is like being treated as "less than" is horrible. Children are people too and deserve to be treated as such.
Children are humans, they are people. Disabled people are also humans, we are people, but we are also not children (except for the ones that are actually children). Disabled people should not be treated as children unless they are ok with it or want to be treated that way. (Disabled people that need to be treated as or similar to a child are completely valid of course)
This, but without the parents part, THEY are the only ones doing this, and it PISSES ME OFF
man i just dont know why im so afraid all the time (<- has the disorder that makes you afraid all the time)
i bring a sort of "this character is canonically malnourished and would gain at least a couple pounds during their hypothetical healing arc wherein they get better" vibe to the function that people dont really like
If you tell neurodivergent people they need to "get comfortable with being uncomfortable" I am putting gravel in your shoes. No you can't take the gravel out. You have to deal with it. Dealing with it makes you a better person. What do you mean "pointless suffering".
What I feel people frequently forget about autistic special interests is that they aren't always information based. They may simply be visual or mental
Someone may have a special interest in a show, but instead of that meaning that they will talk about that show often, it may mean they watch that show extremely frequently.
Special interests are ways of regulating, not simply encyclopedias we have in our heads. Sometimes it's watching something frequently. Maybe only listening to one genre of music, maybe it's a collection, maybe it's an action. I'm tired of it only being seen as autistic people's personal encyclopedias
ok I endured it. now what!!!!!!!!!
