This may look like a cargo van with no windows and no passenger seats, but we see an empty canvas waiting for an artists touch.

In June 2022 we decided to purchase a new Ram Promaster City Cargo van. It is a very small cargo van. It took us until September to actually find one on a dealer lot. When we did, we snatched it up and had windows installed first thing. Next, we scheduled our appointment with Wayfarer Vans in Colorado Springs.

Wayfarer will install a modular van-camping kit specifically designed for this van. They call it Wally. We will give it a different name. :-)

Jalama Beach County Park. Home away from home since 1988. Many changes over time but still the same view. Same ambiance. Upgraded around fire pits with DG, but the railings are still off limits to aging boundary pushers like myself. This is October 2021, a three night stay shared with Tivis and Salem. The weather and absence of wind allowed us to stay up late and chat around the campfire.

Six Paintings

I’m getting ready to paint again. Cleaning out the old stuff, making way for the new stuff. All of these are my original paintings. Although the one with three friends is a painting of a favorite sculpture by Nnamdi Okonkwo. The Work Boots is an oil painting of my dad’s work boots and all they represent to me, which is more than I feel like describing here. Colleen and Jeannie is a watercolor of my daughter and her Cabbage Patch doll. Circa 1989. The Geometric Abstract is also watercolor. The Sailor is a watercolor of my dad. I want to keep trying to do this one better. The Couple At The Shore is an oil painting and one of my favorites. This couple had no idea I photographed them from afar, and then created a painting from that photo. My deepest gratitude to them and I always wish them well.

Heading to our favorite place soon. It’s been more than two years. We are taking friends who have never been before. Bracing for an epic three days.

TODAY'S QUESTIONS

So what the hell just happened? You voted for a racist buffoon because you don't trust Hillary? You get your information from Fox News? You think Hillary murdered someone? Or had someone murdered? You don't think she's been charged because she somehow paid someone off? You think she has that much pull in DC? You don't trust FactCheck.org? You think this whole LGBT thing is just a bunch of pervs? You think Obama is the worst POTUS ever? You don't believe our gun laws need reforming? You think Hillary wants to take away the 2nd amendment? You're a proud member of the NRA? You think Hillary is responsible for what happened in Benghazi? You go to church every Sunday? You think we should round up Muslims and make sure they are reporting suspicious activity on one another? What does a Muslim look like? What type of suspicious activity? You don't care to know anything about Donald Trump's tax returns? You don't care that he has a limited vocabulary? You don't care that he insights violence toward people of color? You don't care that he admits to groping women and treating them as objects? You don't care that he is friends with Russian President Putin? You don't read newspapers? News blogs? You don't trust information unless it is from a Christian run news source? You don't appreciate that I'm bringing up religion? You don't find everything that Donald Trump has said abhorrent and fundamentally anti-American? You just hate Hillary, it doesn't matter that most of the accusations against her are fabricated? You don't see any correlation between what Trump has said and what Hitler said? It doesn't bother you that the KKK has endorsed and openly supports Donald Trump? These are just some of the questions I've pondered this week.
