English isn't my first language, and I'm using a translator. So I apologize in advance if something doesn't come across clearly or if there are any grammatical mistakes. These are just my thoughts:
I don't think Sae really knows Rin anymore, at least not the person he is now. They haven't seen or spoken to each other in years, and people change a lot during that time, especially teenagers. Because of that, I think that, deep down, Sae still sees the little boy he used to take care of and protect.
He can probably read Rin's body language and the little habits he's kept since childhood, maybe even parts of his mindset and the way he sees the world. But beyond that, it feels a bit unrealistic to me that he would know him perfectly after years of having no contact. I like to think that Sae still sees his little brother and occasionally has small moments of surprise—whether it's the way Rin talks, dresses, eats, or even his simple preferences.
Of course, this goes both ways. They've both changed and grown, yet they're still searching for the sibling they remember.
Sae doesn't truly know the current Rin, even if he believes he does. And I think Rin understands that better than anyone, because the older brother he remembers would never have deliberately hurt him like that.
sae itoshi x fem! reader, a sae character study that went awry. Sae reflects on both of your lives
Sae looks at your closet door and sighs.
It's hard not to feel out of place at a given time and place in your life, but he'd never expected said time and place to be as a fully grown and functioning adult, in his own home.
The closet door is covered in photos and random trinkets you'd stuck onto it. When you first moved in, you'd insisted on personalizing your side of things, so as to "not get confused."
"I don't want to go looking for things in here and end up making contact with one of your dirty boxers," you had declared. Sae had grunted that he was hygienic, and that the chance of one of his dirty boxers making it back into the closet— yours or his— was close to zero, but you wouldn't hear it.
"You're a guy," you had sniffed. "Your hygienic is my unhygienic. Besides, there is no zero risk."
And with this little nugget of wisdom, you had left the room, leaving Sae to contemplate the newly decorated closet door on his own.
The photos are filled with happy, bright faces, some from your high school graduation, some from your time at college, and others from family. Cuomo, your brown border collie, makes the most frequent appearances, and a few of your college's flags and banners are fixed on the corners of the door ("Go Bulldogs!").
When a pro athlete gets scouted at a young age, the sentiment of competition and the constantly tense environment is inevitable. That's when isolation strikes, like a viper heading for its prey— merciless and so very hungry. Isolation doesn't make any sound, that’s what makes it so dangerous. It slips through the cracks, and before you know it, it consumes your life, and in turn, you let the sport consume you as a way to escape it. Sae's never sat on his feelings long enough to reflect on them or do something about them. They only ever sneak up on him at random, rare times.
Such as when he looks at his girlfriend's single closet door that somehow contains more life than he's ever experienced. He tries not to let the dormant green-eyed monster inside him take over, but there are times where Sae wishes he could trade his life for one more like yours. School, friends, college, family. You've done a great job acclimating him to your lifestyle and your people, but there are times, late at night, where he wishes he could've been introduced to something like this much earlier. Maybe then things would've been different. For him, sure, but for Rin, too.
You spread your palm on the back of his neck from behind, and let your fingers travel all the way to his shoulders. You thumb at the side of his neck juncture.
"You okay there?"
"Yeah," he replies after a minute, before slightly turning, placing a kiss on your temple. "All good."
As long as you're there, he can have that life. You are that life. His life.
Chapter 347 of Blue Lock is likely one of the most important chapters of this entire U20 World Cup arc because it is no longer just about football. DESTINY transforms the match against France into an ideological crisis where different ways of understanding talent, ego and destiny ultimately collide with one another until they expose their own flaws.
From the very first pages, the chapter conveys a sense of unavoidable tension. The image of Isagi and Rin shooting at the exact same moment represents the peak of a rivalry that never truly managed to become cooperation. Both arrive at the exact same space guided by the same reading of the game and by the same obsessive desire to score the decisive goal. However, instead of complementing each other, they end up interfering with one another. The shot loses the precision it needed, the ball strikes the crossbar and for a few seconds everything seems frozen in place.
That scene perfectly summarises the central conflict of the chapter. Blue Lock has always defended the idea that extreme ego is the path towards creating the ultimate striker, but here the manga shows the danger of taking that philosophy to its absolute limit. Rin did not act incorrectly. In fact, he acted exactly as Ego taught them to: pursue your own goal relentlessly until the very last second of the match. The problem is that Isagi also did the right thing under that same logic. Both followed Blue Lock's philosophy to the letter and the result was mutual destruction.
That is where Julian Loki appears as a kind of brutal reality check. While Blue Lock is still trying to process the mistake, Loki simply takes possession of the ball and finishes the match by cutting through multiple players on his own. The scene makes it clear that world football is not going to stop and wait for Blue Lock to resolve its internal contradictions. Loki does not even need to enter debates about ego, luck or destiny. He simply plays at a monstrous level and delivers. His presence feels almost above the conflict itself.
But the chapter's real blow takes place inside Isagi's mind. When he recalls Ego's words, "Pursue your own goal relentlessly until the very last second of the match", something begins to break inside him. For the first time, Isagi is not merely questioning a play or an individual decision. He is directly questioning Blue Lock's philosophy. If absolute ego ultimately causes two strikers to get in each other's way and lose the match, then an unavoidable question emerges: can this system truly lead Japan to winning a World Cup?
And that is the most interesting aspect of the chapter. Blue Lock has always presented selfishness as a form of evolution, but "DESTINY" introduces the possibility that absolute ego can also become self destruction. The manga does not yet claim that Ego is wrong, but it does make it clear that his theory has just collided with one of its greatest limitations.
At the same time, the ideological confrontation between Hugo and Isagi further elevates the chapter's weight. Hugo represents a vision of football built upon destiny and predetermined abilities. To him, Blue Lock will never achieve glory because a team made up of selfish strikers will inevitably collapse. Japan's defeat appears to prove him right.
However, Isagi refuses to accept that conclusion even after the 2-4 defeat. And that is important because he understands that Hugo also lost something during this match. The perfect theory of "destiny" was disrupted by the most unpredictable variable of all: luck. Isagi manages to demonstrate that even someone obsessed with controlling every outcome can still be affected by elements that are impossible to calculate completely.
That is why the moment he calls Hugo "number two" carries so much weight. It is not merely a competitive provocation. It is a direct attack on the idea of perfection that Hugo is trying to represent. He won the match, yes, but he failed to prove that his vision of football is absolute.
The chapter also offers a very interesting reading of Rin. His simple "Tsk" conveys more frustration than any speech ever could. Rin understands perfectly what happened: his ego collided with Isagi's and together they destroyed the possibility of a goal. Blue Lock therefore turns their rivalry into something almost tragic because both are capable of reading the game at the highest level and yet still end up cancelling each other out.
In the end, DESTINY functions less as the conclusion of a match and more as the beginning of a new crisis within Blue Lock. The defeat against France matters, but the truly important aspect lies in the questions it leaves behind. The manga must no longer simply prove that ego can create extraordinary strikers. It now also needs to answer whether multiple absolute egos can coexist without destroying one another.
Studying Nietzsche rn for my university entrance philosophy exam and the only reason I keep going is because this is Kaiser's favorite historical figure 🙏
Kaiser!
This one is for you!
(probably me after leaving the exam)
Edit: I did the exam, this image is my mental state rn
Before you guys come at me and start hating on Rin, I want to say something first.
Since the very beginning of Blue Lock, Rin has been carrying the title of the number one player. While other players fumbled, missed shots or made mistakes at some point, Rin never did. He was always consistent, always perfect, always the one everyone expected to score.
And honestly? That's exactly why people are reacting so harshly now.
Because Rin was always "perfect," people started treating him like he's not allowed to make mistakes anymore. Everyone expects him to score every goal, dominate every match and stay untouchable all the time, completely forgetting that he's still a football player at the end of the day. He's still just a 16 year old boy and he has the right to fail sometimes.
For example, Isagi became number one after growing throughout the entire series. We literally watched him learn, adapt, fail, improve and slowly climb to the top step by step and that development is amazing. But Rin's situation is different. He started at the top, which means people only notice him when he falls even slightly.
So no, I genuinely do not care about what happened in the latest chapter. I do not care that Rin missed. Missing shots is NORMAL in football. Even the best players in the world miss chances. One mistake does not erase everything he has done until now.
If anything, I know Rin will only work harder after this because that's the kind of person he is.
And that's exactly why I'll continue supporting and defending him. He will always be the number one player for me.
So if you want to hate on him, please do it somewhere else because I genuinely don't want that negativity around me. Rin haters are getting blocked immediately. No mercy will be shown ☺️
wow second time I post in this acc and is frikin Bunny again? This man got me hooked 😔
The match against France has finished and we are getting close to Japan vs Spain (we are actually not but I can smell it already okay?) that means that we are seeing my pookie Sae and Bunny again which means that I need to talk about Bunny theories because I seriously can’t wait!
I’ve come across a bunch of cool theories, but these ones are the ones I like the most combined with some of mine.
I want to focus a bit more on his character design because I don’t really have a clue what his past is like; people say that it has something to do with religious trauma (because of his scars and surname) I believe that his character has something to do with religion.. but as a metaphor or part of his character design rather than his past (as in him being raised in a religious environment).
Iglesias means ‘churches’ in Spanish, however Iglesias is a very common Spanish surname that nowadays has nothing to do with religion as Spain’s percentage of catholicism has decreased immensely over the years. However, even if Spain is not a religious country (at least not anymore), we do celebrate ‘Semana Santa’ and it is super important here. I mention semana santa because this festivity is celebrated during easter, and which animal represents easter? bunnies.
I’m super sure that this is related because it’s the only way I can connect his character to the animal and catholicism in a non religious country. On the other side, Bunnies also symbolize luck, and we know how important luck is in blue lock as it's mentioned especially in characters like Isagi and Sae who, guess what, is connected to Bunny’s character. I believe that Bunny has something to do with luck, as luck is expressed in blue lock as an entity or as Ego calls “goddess of luck” and in Blue lock’s manga cover, Bunny’s chain is being hanged from above. His character is related to worshipping some entity, but perhaps its not God but luck, and Bunny is a firm believer of this goddess.
There’s definitely something dark going on behind that smile, which gives me the chills sometimes ngl. He kinda creepy, that’s why I’m a firm believer that he did those scars himself.
a/n I can't believe that the first character I post in this new acc is this man when I don't even trust him at all- I just know that he has some dark and sadistic sht going on behind that little cute and pretty handsome smile.. am I doomed?
Boyfriend!Bunny has a black hole for a stomach (he ate a whole plate of fideuà by himself wtf). You know what they say about the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Yep, that’s him. Bunny will eat anything you make, whether it's good or bad. He always volunteers as a test subject when you try a new recipe, excited to be the one who tries it first. He's also very curious about what you're doing in the kitchen, so he'll keep you company whenever you're cooking. However, don't think he's going to sit obediently in a corner.. quite the opposite.
“Bunny, stop eating the strawberries you’re going to leave me with nothing.”
“Anda una más, this is the last one I promise!” [Come on, one more]
“You’ve said that for the fourth time already!”
“Don’t try it idiot, the dough is still raw.”
“Don’t-” you slap his hand away from the bowl “-You dare.”
“You really are going to eat that? it’s burnt.."
“Well I can’t let anything go to waste after all your effort, no?”
Nothing in the kitchen is safe with Bunny around, but you can’t deny that his playful antics make the process more fun, even if you have to protect the bowl of food with your life on the line.
Boyfriend!Bunny likes physical contact, perhaps not to the point of being clingy, but he'll always be subtly touching you, even in public! his hand on your thigh when you're sitting, an arm draped over your shoulder, his hand holding your waist when you're walking, or his foot lightly brushing against yours. All these touches are light but intentional, as if he's making sure you're still there (or perhaps the opposite; reminding you that he’s still with you when you are crowded with fans and paparazzi). Sweet, right? But don't let it blind you, because Bunny is nothing but mischievous. He can go from gently holding you to throwing his entire body on top of you. Sometimes he feels considerate and warns you with a “trust fall!” yeah. sometimes.
But it’s not like you can do anything to prevent it when he is suffocating you to death. You wonder if he sometimes forgets that he's built like a giant.
“And what if the house burns down one day? I’m just preparing you for you to save me.” He says,
“Bold of you to assume that I’m saving your tall ass.”
“Joe que borde :(“ [geez how rude]
I mean, if we ignore the murder attempts, he is really affectionate! And his tenderness intensifies when he’s with you at home. He will reciprocate your gestures like when you want to be held, and acts like a second blanket when you’re on the sofa or taking a nap. He's usually the big spoon due to his size, but he also loves being held by you; his favorite place to be is probably resting his head on your stomach.
Boyfriend!Bunny who likes cuddles and affection during the day, but at night he’s a completely different person. It's those quiet, intimate moments in the dark when he needs his space, creating a visible distance between his side of the bed and yours. He'd even turn his back on you, a sign that he didn't want to be disturbed. At the beginning of your relationship you thought you'd done something wrong, but as the nights went by you got used to Bunny's behavior, seeing that it was just his way of being. You even got used to the times he'd disappear from the bed in the middle of the night and not return until morning, when he is back to his normal playful self and his familiar smile. However, you couldn’t help but be curious at the sudden change of behavior from day to night; the idea of it being related to his past has crossed your mind more than once.
But you knew that even if you asked him, he wasn't going to give you the answer you wanted.
Boyfriend!Bunny who knows more about you than you know about him. He shows interest in your tastes and hobbies, making sure you have everything you need. He knows when you are upset and how to make you feel better. He's attentive when it comes to you and knows you really well. You tried to do the same of course, but despite considering yourself one of the people who knows him best, there were still gaps in your knowledge about him that were unanswered. Besides, Bunny has the amazing ability to brush things off and smoothly change the subject; you've seen it multiple times in interviews when he didn't want to answer stupid questions (some skills you get when you become a celeb, you guessed). However, what you didn't expect was that he'd use it on you too. Despite his charming and easygoing personality with everyone, he’s a reserved person full of mysteries. Even you still have trouble reading him. Moreover, making him open up is a tough task, as he just smiles and says “Don’t worry about it”.
Boyfriend!Bunny likes to tease you in Spanish. This man, who lives to troll people, will take advantage of the fact that you don't understand the language very well to teach you new words and colloquial phrases that, according to him, "will make you sound more Spanish."
“Whenever you disagree with someone, instead of saying ‘no’ you say ‘mis cojones 33’.”
“mis.. why are there numbers? you are mocking me aren’t you.”
“nono it's true! okay, if you don’t like that one you can say ‘una polla como una olla’ it means a big no.”
“I don’t know what that means but it sounds even worse.”
(Sae was a victim of this man too. You’re not alone.)
However, if you speak or have learned Spanish, don't celebrate too quickly. Because you'll still be a victim of his trolling.
“Ya no puedes engañarme, sabes? Puedo entenderte perfectamente conejito” You once tell him smugly. [You can't lie to me anymore you know? I can understand you perfectly 'bunny']
His smile widens,
“Aleshores, ara hauré de parlar en català.”
Wait, que cojones.
“Què passa, carinyo? Se t’ha esborrat el somriure de la cara.”
You throw him something and he just laughs at you.
