having an evening of flirty side glances... the thrill of the chase and of being chased... getting to sneak around before the grand finale... you want a love that is exciting but fleeting, you want the thrill of being chased and being romanced. you have little care for how long your flings last for, but you want them to be passionate and full of laughter and inside jokes. you want every one of your past lovers to miss you when you leave. although it is impractical to ask for someone to change their nature, it may be a good reminder that some feelings are okay to embrace. there is no need to always run away from others, especially if running back to them makes you feel like the sun.

          Crimson hues dart up from where they’d been looking, at the phone grasped in their pale hand, then those eyes move to stare at the other, head tilting to the side ever so slightly, a curious expression settling onto their face. After only a moment, a smile lights up their features and they’re nodding their head, always so happy to help. 

            “Of course. Ask away there, pal. I don’t really have much else to do today so you’re not really wasting my time.” 

          The question seems increasingly silly the more it creeps upon his tongue, as it spills, hangs in the air between them —- but surely it’s one of utmost importance nonetheless. Not even the caffeine boost between his fingers had offered him a sliver of insight ( no matter how delicious ).And so he perks up at their acceptance —- unendingly grateful.           “I’m not from around here, but I want to take someone important out tonight. I usually think trying somewhere randomly could be fun, and normally I’d do it, but I think tonight it might be better to try to find a recommendation from someone who knows the area.”

What type of timeless space are you?

You step out into the night sky. It's sometime between 1am and 4am. The door closes and the music is muffled, bleeding into the silent night. A tipsy smile on your face, a reoccurring feeling that you have to remember this moment, you have to remember the feeling of the blush on your face, of the bacardi on your lips, of the blurred twinkling of the stars, of the muffled ABBA song playing from your best friend's Bluetooth speaker. Some day this will be a memory, some day when you are old and grey, this will be a memory and you will smile for the feelings you once had and mourn the loss of them. Appreciate the slowness of time, it is slowing so you can appreciate it properly. Is it working? Things are going to change whether that is a comfort or not, and time will not be so kind, but for now you are here. Your feet are firm on the ground and it is all you can do to appreciate the time you've been given, it's yours to spend, it's yours to make memories with, and it is your responsibility to gift these memories to yourself. So full of life, so young, time does not stop for you, but it is slowing right now. Remember this moment, when you're surrounded by friends. You sit under the stars for hours. When you go back inside, the ABBA song reaches its final verse.

𝑯𝑬 𝑰𝑺 𝑷𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑰𝑵𝑮 , 𝑫𝑹𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑯𝑬𝑫 𝑰𝑵 𝑺𝑾𝑬𝑨𝑻 . and surprised to find viktor here , in madame baranovskaya’s studio .  even after years of training with the woman , yuuri still fears her , slightly – for her intimidating manner . and  he knows viktor to be one of yakov’s student , knows the man from glimpses caught before the unfortunate split between coach and ballet mistress .  face colours even more , realising he had been watched . it was no secret that he had to train hard , if he hoped to make premier danseur in the upcoming season , but yuuri more often than not kept to himself . private lessons , private rehearsals .   “  –    viktor . “

        He’s not here of his own order - though it’s excuse enough to linger.  Another of Yakov’s is readying to leave elsewhere ; a prodigy they say - he’s inclined to agree - with the few supplemental lessons here.  Viktor’s simply arrived to usher him along as he passes ---  so long as he doesn’t become distracted in wait.                                                                                                   He’s failed.  Oh well.         “Yuuri.”  This is a dancer he remembers of Baranovskaya’s with a grin flourishing ; a name as close to fond as either Yakov or she can produce echoing ( funny how so many years can do so ).  The intent to watch hadn’t initially be there, more a serendipitous discovery, but so easily he’d stumbled enrapture ( given minutes here ).   And he’d remembered Viktor.  “Truly, that was remarkable!  I just wish I’d gotten here sooner-----”  A pause.                                            “I’d love to keep watching ----  do you mind?  I’m waiting for                                            someone, you see, and I don’t know how much longer                                            he’s going to be ------!”

There she marked her spot with a dramatic swish of the pen, sliding the paper arena to her opponent. Her eyes shone with a challenging glint. “Show me what you got.”

          “I try to keep things interesting,” remarks he, as though a corner O on a simple board is this enthralling.  Nonetheless, her first seeming move pulls him into a lean on the table ---  elbow on wood, chin on hand, pen end tapping once, twice, thrice as she makes her move ( ah, so she’s changed it ----  very well ; he can work with this, too, surely ).  A moment’s consideration with a final tap of pen, a defensive O on the center left space, and it’s shuffled back once more.  “Though it seems you’re doing a better job at it right now.”  A grin, also challenging.  “Just don’t hold back.”
