Dude, people breakup for all sorts of reasons. It happens. It could be someone realizing they’re gay, or it could just be two people who were married realizing they’re not compatible anymore. There are people who don’t realize they’re gay until many years later in life, and some people who perform heterosexuality because they grew up in a homophobic environment where it wasn’t safe to come out as gay. It’s a nuanced situation, but of course I don’t expect Tumblrites to be intelligent or mature enough to understand that some situations are just unfortunate, and not everything has to have a “bad guy” and a “good guy”.

When a gay man leaves a heterosexual relationship, yes of course I feel for the woman, but what exactly would you prefer? That she stay married to a man who’s realized he’s not attracted to her and wants to be with someone else? That sounds pretty miserable for both parties involved. (Also, that could happen even with a straight man, so the fact that you’re singling out gay men here is pretty obviously homophobic.)

Breakups suck, and yes it’s difficult when a partner you were with for a long time leaves. And obviously, a gay person who has children from a previous heterosexual relationship is still responsible for their children and they should be judged if they don’t do their fair share of child raising. But expecting a gay person, whether it’s a gay man or a lesbian, to stay in a heterosexual relationship is just blatant homophobia.
