I like the idea of a Spamvil separation arc better than a divorce arc but it also has to be like really unwilling and goofy.

Oh, you think they needed time apart? Fell out of love and rekindled years later? Think again. Spamton got kicked out the mansion and had no phone to call Jevil or way to get to Card Kingdom to inform the clown. By the time Jevil got worried and was gonna visit his long distant husband he was thrown in prison for biting the kings one too many times. By the time they both meet again they just confess they both thought each other was dead and then rob someone… then make out.

We have no evidence that Spamton and Jevil are not just hating each other for the bit and are actually madly and violently in love with each other when in private. They storm off after a battle only to be found making out in the next room over.
