Hi! And I have no problems talking about this headcanon, I don't usually speak on it much seeing as I tend to keep a lot of Angel related headcanons to myself unless I'm asked. But I'm transmasculine myself, so it was easy to really make this headcanon for Angel. And I know the basis for a lot of the transfeminine headcanons is Angel's lines referring to not being a man (granted the context those lines are being used in more so deal with him talking about being a vampire but i digress and that's not relevant here).

I think it also fits well into how transmen feel. Now I'm not speaking for the majority but there is transmen who don't feel like men and it doesn't help when you have people in society making us feel less so. I personally do enjoy the transfeminine Angel headcanons, I love hearing people's thoughts on these things as long as its not fetishizing or distasteful (and I'm not saying anyone is btw).

I can't really put it into words very well? I feel like you could interperate Angel's lines about not feeling like a man or that he's not a man both ways. It applies to how both parties can feel in terms of being transgender at least to me.

Like I notice that Angel seems to struggle fitting with most men he hangs out with (Wesley, Gunn, Doyle, etc) and he could be trying things like video games or liking hockey to appear masculine (granted these things aren't just for men, but this was in the 90s and early 2000s so viewpoints were different than they are now!)

Sure Angel also like these things on his own, he's also pretty introverted and not good in most social settings. But I do think there is things that could people could headcanon Angel as transfem or transmasc and that's okay!

Buffy is a little harder for me to explain, even though this was mostly about Angel. There's also just something about Angel going through the transitions and such to be the sort of man he wanted to be, not what society wants him to be that sticks out in my brain.

I'm not the best at explaining things but that's the gist of it really? I hope it makes sense and if not well, I do apologize for not explaining it very well. I do like talking about it and maybe I'll make a list of headcanons for trans Bangel eventually <3
