🎈Quiet Ways To Interact With Spirit Companions🎈
I see lots of posts on how to communicate and interact with spirit companions, and they’re great, but many involve lengthy conversation (or one-sided dialogue) between the human and their companion. Even if the dialogue is all through thought, some people prefer to be quiet inside and out, so here’s some tips for you quiet friends!
🎈Draw something that your spirit companion will like, or that has meaning to you both.
🎈Lie down and just relax with your companion. No words necessary, just feel each other’s presence.
🎈If your companion has a vessel, hold it or touch it and meditate.
🎈Communicate through feeling, instead of talking. Let your companion feel what you feel, and allow yourself to feel what they feel.
🎈Make two cups of tea or coffee and drink with your companion.
🎈Read a book, watch a movie, or play a game, and let your companion watch/read along.
🎈Go on a walk in nature with your companion.
🎈Play Solitaire or other one-person games, and let your companion help/play through you.
Daily Spell: April 30th
Bonfire Spell to Protect Against Danger
You’ll need:
One yellow candle for each member of your family
Dried thistles
Sea salt
In Germany the night of April 30th is celebrated as Walpurgisnacht. Named for a saint, it is traditionally a time in which large bonfires are lit as protection against the forces of darkness. You don’t need to build an enormous fire, but you can use candles to protect you and your loved ones against danger from sources both known and unknown. Do this working at night.
Light the candles, and as you do so, call off the names of each family member you wish to protect. Arrange the candles in a circle, saying “Family bonds, love and light, flames protect us in the dark of night.” Place the thistles in a ring outside of the candles, and say “Leaves and flowers and spikes and bristles, protection with these thorny thistles.” Finally, sprinkle the salt in a circle outside the thistles. “Salt surround us and keep us well, danger pass by the place we dwell.”
Allow the candles to burn out on their own, and in the morning, scatter the salt and the thistles around your front doorstep.

Basics of Kitchen and Cottage Witchcraft
Kitchen witches believe that the kitchen is a sacred place where all of the magick happens. They focus on the use of edible ingredients and kitchen tools. A cottage witch is a witch that brings magick into the house and are protectors of the hearth and home. They bring cheer and warmth to every room they enter. Their focuses are on the family, home, and daily needs. Both the cottage and Kitchen witch believe that by honoring the home it honors the Gods and Goddesses. What would be the symbolism of white cats? I seem to see them everywhere.
–Anonymous
Hmm, well, I’m not sure about white cats specifically, but there are a few Deities associated with cats (the animals in general) - in Kemeticism, our main cat-related Deity is Bast (She usually appears as a black cat, but that doesn’t mean She couldn’t appear as a white cat if She wanted to for whatever reason…)
In some traditions the color white has associations with concepts of purity, cleanliness, and new beginnings…but in other traditions, it is more associated with Death (rather than the color black, for example). I’d suggest doing some research into cat symbolism, as well as meanings of the color white…it could be possible that the color has nothing to do with the image of the cat, or vice versa.
Also, keep in mind that not everything is a sign or message from a spirit or God. Sometimes things are just coincidence. The key is to be observant of patterns over longer periods of time, and the ways in which certain symbols or colors or shapes consistently make you feel. Also pay attention to what cultural mythologies, traditions, stories, images, etc. you find interesting, and how they might relate to what might be “signs” around you.
For example, though you seem to see cats everywhere, unless Egyptian symbolism/myth/religion interests you, Bast might not necessarily be a Goddess you might want to approach…or She may not be the one approaching you. Figuring out what signs/patterns mean in relation to Deities/spirits/other entities/etc. can be a lengthy process of trial and error sometimes, so be patient.
Any more advice concerning white cats for this Anon? :)

Evergoing Spell
This is a long lasting spell to protect, cleanse, calm and bring love to yourself or another. The spell will last for as long as the marble remains in the circle.
You Will Need
A marble, stone or other representative of yourself or your target
A small bowl or dish
Regular salt and pink Himalayan sea salt (protection, cleansing, and love)
Peach leaves or peach tea leaves (love and healing)
Lavender buds (calming and anti anxiety)
Moonstone and Sunstone (or other representatives of the moon and sun)
Note: Instead of moonstone and sunstone, I used a marble which was charged under the total eclipse of August 21st. The moonstone and sunstone are supposed to bring you protection so long as you are under the moon or the sun.
The Spell
Make sure your bowl or dish is clean.
In the bowl or dish, add all ingredients and form them into a circle (except for the marble and stones).
In the center of the circle, place your marble.
Set the stones on either side of the bowl or dish and leave overnight.
Leave the spell to manifest as long as possible. You can remove the Moonstone and Sunstone at any time, but the spell ends when the marble leaves the circle. The spell can be recast at any time if you must remove the marble or dismantle the spell.
I RECENTLY STARTED A CLOWN DOLL COLLECTION DUE TO MY RECENT FASCINATION WITH CLOWNS, BUT THIS WEEKEND I BOUGHT A HARLEQUIN FROM AN ANTIQUE SHOP AND SHE SEEMS STRESSED. I'VE BEEN HELPING HER BY RESTORING HER PAINT JOB AND ADDING BELLS TO HER HAT BUT SHE STILL SEEMS SAD. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR BLESSINGS ETC THAT I COULD USE TO HELP HER?
Hello!
You could do an elemental cleansing/blessing.
You would need something to represent every element.
Earth- Bowl of salt
Air- Incense
Fire- Candle
Water- Bowl of water
Take the doll in your hands, and face north. Sprinkle a little salt over it (or pass it over the bowl) and say:
Powers of the North,
Guardians of the Earth,
I bless this doll
and charge it with your energies.
I purify it this night
Now, turn to the east and pass the doll through the smoke of the incense, say:
Powers of the East,
Guardians of the Air,
I bless this doll
and charge it with your energies.
I purify it this night
Next, face the south and pass the doll over the flame of the candle saying:
Powers of the South,
Guardians of Fire,
I bless this doll
and charge it with your energies.
I purify it this night
Turn to the west, and sprinkle a little water over your doll (or pass it over the bowl of water). Say:
Powers of the West,
Guardians of Water,
I bless this doll
and charge it with your energies.
I purify it this night
Face center, hold your doll to the sky, and say:
I charge this doll in the name of Old Ones,
the Ancients, the Sun and the Moon and the Stars.
By the powers of the Earth, of Air, of Fire and of Water
I banish the energies of any previous owners,
and make it new and fresh.
I bless this doll,
and it is mine!
Easy Good Luck Spell
Requires: ° 1 large, golden candle [luck, success] or white candle [neutral source] ° 1 golden marker ° bowl with sand or other fireproof dish ° 1 dried bay leaf [wishing for something] ° incense (cinnamon [success], strawberry, moss [luck], Sandalwood [neutral source] ° the day should be at least a little windy
Point in time: ° weekday: Thursday [good luck] ° moon phase: waxing moon [moving things forward: in that case your luck]
Procedure: 1. Evoke the magical circle. 2. Ignite the incense. 3. Meditate a few moments over your intention while you enjoy the pleasant scent of your incense. 4. When you are relaxed and feel prepared for the next steps, take the golden candle and light it. Then say, while looking into the flame:
“Thy colour, thy light, This is the source of good luck. Luck is what I need and seek. I swear, I am only up to good deeds. I bit thee, to help me with my intention.”
5. Meditate a bit again, so your recently said words can take full effect. Wrap yourself up with the golden light of the candle. 6. Now take the bay leaf and the marker. Write your wish on the bay leaf. There is no guideline for how you frame your wish. You can either write a sentence on it or just ‘luck’ on it. This is up to you. 7. Burn the bay leaf (You have to be very careful now because I don’t want you to hurt yourself!). When it burns, put it down on the fireproof plate or lay it down in the sand. While it burns say:
“When the leaf turns to ashes, my wish shall be fulfilled.”
8. Douse the candle. 9. Reverse the circle. 10. Take the ash and go outside or position yourself in front of a window. Scatter the ashes in the wind and say:
“Carried away by the winds, I can be assured my wish will be were ever I will go. This is my will, so mote it be.”
11. Imagine yourself experiencing luck. Having luck with everything you do, say or want to do. Visualise this as strong as you can. The stronger you can imagine it, the more luck you will have. 12. When you feel like the wish vanishes after a time, just repeat the spell.
[You don’t need to follow each step exactly. Do what feels natural to you, so that the energy can flow constantly. Own Spell]

Dried Orange Slices Slice navel orange very thinly; line on nonstick baking mat; generously dust with confectioners’ sugar; bake at 200 degrees for 2 ½ hours until peels are dry and flesh is translucent. Use as ornaments, adornments on gifts or dangle from a mobile.
Dream A (Sweet) Little Dream Shower Sachet
A shower sachet for those pre-bedtime showers, to help call forth positive dreams and your ability to recall them (and to ward off nightmares).
What IS a shower sachet? A small sachet that you hang around your shower head so that the water pours down, over the sachet, and onto you. This spell can easily be transferred to a bath sachet… I just don’t have a bathtub :)
Tools:
Mugwort- for lucid or prophetic dreams
Marshmallow Root- to protect and ward off nightmares
Rosemary- to aid in your ability to recall your dreams
Sage- to protect and to call forth healing in dreams
Chamomile- to soothe to sleep
Lavender- to relax and soothe anxieties that cause nightmares
Bay Leaves- to shield from bad dreams
Amethyst- to provide clarity in your dreaming
A sachet
To Use:
Fill the sachet with your herbs and amethyst.
Hang the sachet over your shower head, and turn the water to your desired temperature. Take some time to call on any deities you may worship and ask them for sweet dreams tonight.
Shower as normal! Use this time to cleanse yourself of the energies of the day. Visualize the negative energy- anything that could manifest in nightmares- swirling down the drain.
Visualize the water bouncing off the amethyst, all the water that touches your head purging your mind of the stuff of nightmares, washing it down and away.
Take some time to focus on what you’d like to dream about. If you need answers, now is the time to ask your questions. If you have nightmares you’d like to stay away tonight, cleanse yourself of them and take away their power.
Make sure to fully stomp (literally or figuratively) any negativity down the drain.
Turn off the shower and thank any deities you may worship for their aid in cleansing you, and thank them preemptively for the sweet sleep you’ll be basking in tonight. If you don’t worship any deities, simply take time to be thankful :)
Get some much needed sleep, and delight in the absence of nightmares.
Write down any dreams you do recall in a dream journal or something similar!
This is so beautiful!! I definitely need to try this!

Whay do you mean by Northeastern Magic?
Northeastern Magic is a combination of folk magic and witchcraft that I’m currently working on creating. It’s based on the geography, culture, and family life in Pennsylvania and New York that are becoming part of my practice.
WITCHES NEED A SECRET SYMBOL FOR SAFE PLACES
So a lot of us are out of the broom closet so to speak, but many of have to be careful of being public because of the views of the communities we live in. What I propose is a symbol we can put on flyers or in shop windows that means “You’re safe here.”
I don’t believe that a pentagram would work because it’s got so much stigma attached and it’s really easily identifiable. Ideally, we can find something that is not tradition specific. I don’t know. I just want us to be able to put feelers out into the community without painting a target on ourselves for intolerant jerk faces, and I want witchlings that are seeking guidance to be able to do so in a safe environment. I mean, how badass would it be to find a little symbol of solidarity in your favorite coffee shop or bookstore??
Reblog with suggestions!
A witches’ foot. It has been used historically like this.
In one of the grimoires I’ve read through, it references this being a secret sign to mark on sacred spaces for the group.
Love it, passing it around. Will be wearing it and hanging it at my house and teashop once I own one.
Using this!!!!
