I mean I'm so intrigued by what Arthur and Merlins life was like before they met each other. Was Arthur's life always in danger and other sorcerers hiding around to help keep him safe before Merlin found him?
Was Merlin's magic always subconsciously protecting Arthur and he felt like a piece of him was missing till the moment he met Arthur? Was that why he was so drawn to him?
Or did Arthur's life get exponentially more dangerous the moment he met Merlin? With other magic users suddenly sensing that Emrys was there to protect the once-and-future king.
Do we think that something happened to Arthur that caused him to reach out to Merlin and his magic when he was younger? Do we think this is why he says Merlin seems familiar; cause even if I've never seen you before you make me feel safe and protected, and I've only ever felt that a handful of times; so are you sure I don't know you???
What about when Merlin was born huh?? Do we think Arthur felt that?? The moment his soul was torn into two?? The moment a piece of his soul was taken to form his other half??
Did he cause it?? Was little baby Arthur Pendragon sitting in his big, cold room, all alone, staring up at the stars after being yelled at or ignored by his father and desperately wishing for someone, anyone, to please get him out of this mess, to love him unconditionally, to always be there for him, to be a friend.

KICK THE CAN!
Let’s play the biggest game of kick the can on the internet.
To kick the can, reblog it. I wanna see how long this can go on for.
the oldest reblogs for this post that i can find are from january 2nd of 2013. this can has been getting kicked around tumblr for almost 13½ years now
And yet somehow this is my first time kicking it!
I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said “might as well see if it works.” I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if you’re a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.
dude.
$2,714 of medical debt from my top surgery - gone. im shaking this was such a weight on me for 2 years and it fucking worked. what the fuck.
This is huge. Sharing for my US friendos.
Hospitals like to hide these policies under a lot of successive links in obscure places, so if you don't see anything right away, keep looking! Get friends to help! Make it a scavenger hunt. A game where you're assassins sent to slit capitalism's throat
superbat is a bad ship name. it should be manman
i woke up in the middle of the night recently and immediately assumed that the 3:00 on my phone screen referred to PM and not AM. i started to freak out for sleeping in so late, and further so because of how dark and still the world was at three in the afternoon. no one was even posting on social media, had they all heard about my bad sleep habits? my grogged up mind eventually landed on a course of action, which was to open google and search "did something happen?"
sometimes i have strong opinions but they're also so inane that halfway through writing a post i'll be like "yeah, this is Absolutely not worth the energy it's taking" and delete everything. but then the opinion is still in my head. and i still want to share it. so within five minutes i go "you know, i bet i can phrase it more succinctly this time" and anyway. you all see where this is going. sometimes i do this four times in a row before i give up on the specific inane opinion and instead write a vague post about the concept of opinions as if that'll satisfy the urge to post the entirety of my inner monologue online. may or may not be relevant to what you're reading right now. and now all our lives have been enriched. you're welcome
Here's a dump of why Donna is so important to me as a female character and why I want characters like her in EVERY show.
First of all, she's not feminine. Or intentionally masculine. She's literally just a woman who doesn't give a shit, but also doesn't have to give a shit. She wears no makeup, her style is plain and utilitarian, there's literally nothing extra in what she wears — which obviously is somehow dictated by her role and the fact that she lives in a fucking haunted horror town, but anyway. Her hair is shoulder length, which is literally the most unintentional genderless style to me, because shorter hair would probably suggest butch more stereotypically, longer hair would be stereotypically more feminine and, more importantly, impractical.
She's not beautiful either. You wouldn't call her ugly or anything, but 'pretty' is just not her category. I also really like the fact that she's not skinny, and she wouldn't be this cool if she were skinny, because there's this unapologetic, physical presence about her that implies strength.
And yet, which is really important, she's not unshakable. She doesn't just do everything on her own, she isn't 100% confident. Moreover, she's breakable, and it's been shown many times. She has feelings and worries, but it's the fact that she struggles that makes the viewer see her as strong. There's also nothing special or 'heroic' in an action way about what she does, she's just doing what has to be done, and this is so much more, because it's real and even relatable.
Second (or third, or wait, where was I?), to the great joy of my asexual ass, there's no romance implied, involving her. As much as I love the headcanon that Donna is a lesbian, I'm happy that she doesn't have an explicit partner in the show and all of her relationships are based on respect rather than attraction, and it's just so good.
Finally (or maybe not, because I could actually talk about her forever), her interactions with Boyd really are the heart of this show for me, because 'two people who dislike each other but have to work together to survive and thus turn into something close to friends but not quite' literally is my favorite trope.
did a bit of driving through the state of georgia today and wound up driving through a small town that i later discovered was called newborn, which is an odd name but doesn’t technically have anything wrong with it, except for the fact that i nearly gave myself whiplash doing a double-take at a building sign advertising NEWBORN TAXIDERMY
this is in perfect iambic meter and sounds like the first line of a weird poem
Rule #2
Don’t ever hug a lobster when you see one on the street,
For decorum is essential when a lobster you must greet.
You may comment on the weather, compliment his choice of hat,
But crustaceans like their space if one should stop them for a chat.
Don’t ever hug a lobster when you’re strolling down the coast,
Simply nod and give a greeting, or a handshake at the most,
For a lobster’s first priority is formal social graces,
And one seemes over-familiar if a lobster one embraces.
Don’t ever hug a lobster when you meet one in the sea,
For a lobster’s spines and chitin make it difficult, you see,
And he might become self-conscious if you bring that fact to light,
So don’t ever hug a lobster, simply put, it’s impolite.
ID / TL;DW: young Black man explains the history of voodoo dolls: they originated in England, where Black people where prohibited from learning to read or write, to help witches keep track of what ailed their patients. Eg., person goes to witch and laments headache, they treat their headache and make a small doll (called "poppet"), trying to represent them as good as possible, stick a needle in its head and put it up a shelf. When they return next week, the witch takes their poppet and asks about their headache. If it's gone, they remove the needle, otherwise they know they have to treat a rather persistent headache.
