When the damnation isn't eternal

hi! i have a genuine question because i am a bit confused and not that well-versed in marxist communist theory: why doesn't the UHC shooting count as class warfare? from my (admittedly, rather surface-level) understanding, "assassination of a large, powerful figure in the capitalist class" is a form of class warfare, so are there any details or patterns that i'm missing? love your blog, your political posts are often very insightful :3
to put it simply--for the same reason that if a german guy kills a french guy it is not an act of franco-german warfare
First of all, Mangione's family, assuming he's the culprit, is richer than Thompson's family. Not to vulgarize class into just net worth, but you don't get to be one of the richest families in a state without extracting some surplus value from workers.
And regardless of that, there is a difference between class antagonisms and the class struggle. Let's imagine the assassin was a member of the working class for a moment. He, as an individual member of his class, has partially identified Thompson's interests as an individual member of the capitalist class to be at odds with his own, and decided to act upon that by killing him. This does not necessarily mean the assassin, again supposing he was a worker and not a rich ivy league boy, consciously recognizes classes as the motor of history, nor does it mean he even is a "leftist" of sorts. We all experience class antagonisms regularly, everywhere that you as a member of your class interact with the interests of the capitalist class, but hating your boss and hating some CEO is not class struggle by itself. For there to be an active class struggle, a class as a whole must wage it, coordinated in class organizations. Unions are some of the most basic forms of class organization, in which workers of a single company or sector act as one to gain temporary reforms from their capitalists.
This is where txttletale's very well-said metaphor comes in. If you as an individual member of a class act against another individual of another class, you're not engaging in a class war because you're not organized within your class, acting collectively in common interests. You're killing a guy. If you're French and you kill a German it's not an act of war between the two countries, because you're not acting as a member of a nation's organization, in this case an army. Active class warfare is not the sum of barely related individual actions, it's a shift in the context of class society, where large swaths of the population are "drafted" by their own class to act as one.
white boy shocks everyone at the restaurant by ordering in perfect Proto-Indo-European
Truly the most arrogant americanism is how "leftist" yanks are utterly convinced that living in the US makes them privvy to the true depths of evil, cruelty and depravity that the US government is capable of, which the silly foreigners who keep talking about imperialism and US foreign policy could never even begin to imagine, when it's actually almost universally the other way around.
the ai arguments are driving me nuts again, its a moral panic, its always been a moral panic, and its obvious in the way the arguments always shift. not real art argument starts up, people get embarrassed defending the spiritual magic imbued in colors and shapes by the human soul, then its about defending artists, but opps, then it gets embarrassing to say they side with disney and adobe in bringing about harsher copyright laws, so they point to the environmental impacts, but then when its pointed out plenty of things they enjoy have similar costs in water/electricity, they'll scatter back to older arguments. its a labor issue, its an annoying feature added to your phone because investors like buzzwords, it is not a devil or demon or spirit
People are jacking off to that guy a bit too much. Listen, the only thing the guy who killed that CEO really achieved is a bit of wish fulfilment. Some of you are treating him too much like he's a revolutionary. Don't get me wrong, it was funny, but this guy is ultimately just some centrist who waa pissed off at this one CEO enough to kill him. The health insurance industry is doing perfectly fine and the company that CEO guy was running is doing fine.

OH MY GOD I FOUND IT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR AGES
"'boys will be boys' should mean-" why are you obsessed with this phrase. why does it have to mean anything. why can't we just get rid of it.
explaining executive dysfunction to people is so embarrassing yeah I have the be useless for days at a time disease
You know what really fucking Annoys Me about internet censorship is stuff like swear words being heavily censored because that's entirely an American cultural hangup being forced on the rest of us. I don't know a single country where swearing is as taboo as it is in America. In fact most languages have swear words that would have the same effect on an American as giving a Victorian chimney sweep a pepsi max cherry.
Demonitizing Irish people's videos for having swear words in them is a kind of hate crime and psychological torture I think.
well you see this masculine term is "gender neutral" because for the longest time, men were the only people considered human beings, hope this helps!
people usually refer to the alliance between nazi germany, fascist Japan, fascist Italy, and others, during ww2 as being the axis powers. it's official name was the Agreement against the Communist International however. being a system for enforcing the survival of capitalism during times of crisis, fascism always identifies communism as its main enemy. it's communism that threatens to eliminate private business, which is the very basis of fascist rule, and communists are always the first and fiercest opponents of fascism wherever it exists. to be anti fascist means being anti capitalist. but anti capitalism isn't an ideology or a plan for its replacement. communism is, which is why fascists oppose it so strongly
