No matter how many times I try to keep him in his room, he somehow always find his way back in mine. With the recent events of blacks getting murdered, especially our men. I remember I'm raising a young black man in this society. I honestly never wanted kids just because of how I saw society turning, and I didn't want to raise a child in this mess. Now that I have my own, am I raising him just to be a target in society? He was already born with 2 strikes against him, he's black and a man. Granted with some instances we don't know what happened before the cameras started rolling, but what we do know is that we saw these men murdered all throughout social media and for what? Making a living? Reaching for ID? Driving? The list goes on and on. At the end of the day, I hug my son a little tighter and love him a little stronger because tomorrow's never promised. I don't want to be a hashtag or him growing up being one.. #blacklivesmatter and if you don't understand that hashtag, you have a whole lot of catching up to do. #myHeart #singleMom #mompreneur #pray #detroit #son #myworld #mylife
