took acid on new years as per tradition and me and my sister got really into the concept of an origami crane folded out of a pizza so precisely and beautifully that it "shames our hatred". like all acts of human cruelty are shamed by the perspective that its beauty provides. we called it pizza crane
many people want to capture you and make you pathetic in a way that is pleasing to them, but you must evade their grasp
Like two years ago I ran into a salamander biologist in the woods who complimented my ability to 'walk quietly in the forest while causing minimal disturbance to the leaf litter.' Still goes to my head.
one time I told my therapist "I tend to have issues with people who think of themselves as authority figures" and she burst out laughing and then said "I think we need to pause and reflect on how you phrased that"
any time someone says "I can always tell", my spinal-level reaction, no matter what they were talking about, is "no you can't"

I love mathematicians so much. No one else is doing it like them. Group of people genuinely only in it for love of the game. Everyone else hates their subject and thinks its boring and useless and these guys are out here talking about how beautiful and incredible and poetic it is with a twinkle in their eyes. No other subject has such a crazy disconnect between public perception and reality. I love it.
if my surname was moog or theremin i'd invent a fuckass instrument too

A spaceship entered Earth's orbit and broadcast a message:
"We are the Interstellar Library. Do you want to swap? We have thousands of stories."
There were many replies.
The library was silent for a whole day, then:
"What do you mean, 'We have millions'?"
