This is something I learned when I was in elementary school called “I” messages. Instead of starting an emotional statement with “You…”, which sounds more accusatory, starting your sentences with “I…” allows you to really express your thoughts and feelings, plus it adds a vibe of responsibility of your emotions.

So instead of saying something like, “You probably don’t care about how I’m doing.” you could say, “I don’t feel okay right now.”

Like I said, less accusatory and more responsible.
