At least Maya and Amybeth have basically said rovickies will be eating unbelievably fucking well this season I'll take that
Ignore every single thing I ever said about Vickie being a Turnbow
Robin being Will's "go-to" this season OH they're going to talk so much gay the ga will be clutching their pearls
(from sfx magazine, posted by aliennmike on twitter!)
Full text: Which character do you feel Will has the most interesting dynamic with this season? "With Robin. She's his go-to for the season, and it was really fun getting to work with Maya [Hawke], because I always had this work crush on her and wanted to do scenes with her. The funny thing about our show is our cast is so big, some of the characters I've never worked with or barely interacted with. She was one of those people I had never got to work with, so getting to be one-on-one with her for so much of the season was so fun, and our relationship in real life mirrored what it was in the show, she became a mentor for me through the year. She's great."
Walk her like a dog, Vic!
Seeing people say Vickie isn't important or part of the season much in s5 because of her lack of promo is so upsetting like I KNOW she's there but I can't say anything :((
I find it funny how people characterize Robin as the rational one and Steve as the weird one when canonically Steve is the one insisting that they sit and chat about what to do instead of running off and getting into trouble- the only reason he's in danger is because he has a hero complex- and Robin is the one antagonizing Russian soldiers, breaking windows, and doing her very best to talk to serial killers and hunt down suspected murderers. Steve is such a rule follower lmao, did you see his face when he realized they were stealing an RV? Did you see Robin's? That girl has no chill, stop pretending otherwise. Steve is trying to keep her from cursing out customers on the reg, she's reminiscing about the time she crashed a car and got chased by the cops at prom.
Fixed the poster x
The fact all of this is happening to Robin in one episode I'm gonna be sick
Is anyone else finding it just a bit too hard to take anymore
Duffers got something personal against Robin and Vickie making them stand in the background watching other characters hug and reunite
Forget Vickie three scenes, forget Vickie nolastname... she's Vickie Blurry Face now
(also yes this is her before anyone doubts the fit matches her stunt double that was spotted!)
Anyway Maya basically saying that Vickie is deliberately mirroring Robin in the pb&j scene to communicate that she likes her and that they are alike.
Oh rovickie endgame tastes so good
TRANSCRIPT: "In psychology, it's like a huge sign that somebody likes you- or if you like somebody, if you start modifying your behaviour to mirror them, like, you start dressing like them, or talking like them, or using the same slang that they use, and so I think that this is a moment of, sort of, Vickie mirroring Robin, and- at least that's my interpretation of it, and to try and very subtly communicate an unsayable thing."
Robin is taking Lucas to visit Max as something nice, but mainly Vickie is a nurse. In the teaser trailer while Lucas is hiding with Max , you see a nurse and a bit of red hair next to them. Robin is finding excuses to see Vickie.
Vickie is actually a candy striper volunteer! That's what that uniform is. But yes, I'm sure the purpose will be the same; Robin taking Lucas to visit Max so she can see Vickie. Two birds, one stone.
i blacked out this afternoon and wrote 3.5k words of speculative rovickie fic and the hospital demodog attack wheeeeee
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Do you think Robin and Vickie are already together at the start of the season? Sorry if you already answered this I was just curious about your take!
Honest answer is I truly can't tell which way it's going to go. I hope that it will be that they develop in the season itself, and there's some evidence that they won't be together already (Maya said in an interview last year Robin is "looking for love", which sounds like not-together-ness to me), but it is really hard to say either way for sure at this point (given the monstrous lack of Vickie in promos).
Given the possible new information that Robin takes Lucas to visit Max early in the season (I assume that is what the time article meant), it would make sense that Robin would have been seeing Vickie volunteering at the hospital for 18 months, that's our starting point. Either they could be together, and Robin takes this time to see her gf without raising suspicion, or this is the only time they see each other because Robin is so busy with radio station/Vecna hunt stuff, not leaving chance for them to progress past friends. Could be that Vickie thinks something could happen, but Robin avoids her so it won't, in order to keep her safe and away from the mess.
Also, if the theory that Vickie is part of the Turnbow family really is correct (yes, despite the name Dunne), then I really don't think Robin would know that if she is involved in whatever this trap is. A gf would know about her family, but a friend who only meets in one or two places might not.
I guess that was more evidence for them not being, but I do think it could be either. Unfortunately we just don't have enough solid previews or information about rovickie (or even Vickie, apart from the candy striper thing this is all guess work) in this season to be able to tell.
Robin being the one to take Lucas to visit Max in the hospital AM I DREAMING??
I'm assume by "mundane sequence pushing an elevator button" this isn't the later season demodog hospital invasion, because they would be RUNNING, and we know Lucas visits Max early in the season (as he probably would have done a lot of times over the time skip)
ALSO the knowledge that Vickie volunteers at the hospital so Robin could see her there as well (whether they're already together or not but I swear they're not), I also thought Vickie would be someone to keep an eye on Lucas and Max and make sure that he's okay if he sits there for a long time, you know?
