A little discussed tumblr experience is that when you add a new gif to a post, it goes into the gif library that everyone has access to
Every now and then you get a notification that a user has added your gif to their post and you are treated to a glimpse of a user you have never seen before in a fandom you have never heard of talking about something you will never see again
And it feels like
10/10 experience, keep it coming

NO FEAR. The actors who played Long John Silver and Captain Flint in Black Sails FULLY ACKOWLEDGE that the Muppet adaptation was the best

hi i hope i get to be the one to break this news on Tumblr, because
I am reading Tim Curry’s 2025 memoir, Vagabond
and in it, he not only devotes a chapter to Muppet Treasure Island, but also references this very post
so, to recap
no, Tim Curry is absolutely NOT a Muppet; however
yes, he and Miss Piggy ABSOLUTELY fucked
Looking through a Toyfare magazine from 2004 and found what might be my favorite ad ever
worst part of getting into the traditional folk music scene is that you will hear a song in the wild and fall in love with it, and when you try to find it online you discover that there are 900 different cover versions and the only non-terrible one is a recording of a church hall concert filmed in 2002 on someone's nokia

''what if you regret it'' then you will expirience regret - a normal and unavoidable part of the human expirience.
the more you twist yourself into a pretzel to avoid regret the harder it will hit when it eventually catches up to you.
“The LEGO Movie was my favorite movie of 2014, but it strikes me that the main character was male, because I feel like in our current culture, he HAD to be. The whole point of Emmett is that he’s the most boring average person in the world. It’s impossible to imagine a female character playing that role, because according to our pop culture, if she’s female she’s already SOMEthing, because she’s not male. The baseline is male. The average person is male. You can see this all over but it’s weirdly prevalent in children’s entertainment. Why are almost all of the muppets dudes, except for Miss Piggy, who’s a parody of femininity? Why do all of the Despicable Me minions, genderless blobs, have boy names? I love the story (which I read on Wikipedia) that when the director of The Brave Little Toaster cast a woman to play the toaster, one of the guys on the crew was so mad he stormed out of the room. Because he thought the toaster was a man. A TOASTER. The character is a toaster. I try to think about that when writing new characters— is there anything inherently gendered about what this character is doing? Or is it a toaster?”
— Bojack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg commenting on how weird gendered defaults in entertainment are, and why we should think twice about them. Excerpted from this longer original post. (via 360degreesasthecrowflies)
stop letting miserable people on the internet convince you that you must have a concrete, well-constructed opinion on everything that has ever existed.
everybody say thank you Marcus Aurelius
Tragedy! You set out to read a negative review of a piece of media you dislike, only to find that the critic is being completely unfair to it and making a bunch of bad, unsupportable arguments.
#yeah. this is actually the worst#because if someone likes something for the wrong reasons and you like it too you can just sort of shrug off their opinion#but if they dislike it in a way that's unfair it's actually infuriating because now you've been put in the position#of defending this absolute dogshit piece of media - even if only in your own head - against their unreasonable complaints#it's the exact opposite of catharsis
Me: “Disney live action remakes are soulless cash grabs that deny the original writers and artists the credit they deserve” Some fucking chud: “Exactly! They never should have started wokeifying all their movies” Me:
