As a teenager I had no problem showing off my boobs and "flashing" my chest. I'm sure there's plenty of proof stored in the cardboard boxes in closets somewhere. 18 years and 2 breastfeed kids later I still have no problem showing them off. Why? Because it's ridiculous that my tits are censored and men can walk around uncensored. Social media bannings have brought this to my attention even more. When I graduated from high school I started carving #titstamps and #printmaking with them. I did this for myself - to make myself feel more beautiful, more confident. Plus boobs are just awesome. As an artist I have thought about reviving this project over the years and I am officially ready to do that. We are taught from a very young age to follow the rules, to abide by the system, not to make question or resist. BUT what if the rules are wrong? What if the system is broken? Everyday girls are being taught that you have to look and act a certain way to feel and be beautiful. That they have to be a certain type to beautiful to be accepted and loved. I will never forget the moment I first became self conscious of my body - especially my boobs... 💔 I was a young girl at my grandparents pool. As I walked by a group of relatives I heard ”ugh, look at how skinny she is, like a skeleton, she doesn’t even fill out that top”. From that moment on I was hyper-aware of everything about my body, especially my boobs. Everything I knew about myself shattered in that one remark. 🖤 Luckily, as I got older a simple sentence changed my life. I was told by a very smart #bosslady ”Fuck what everyone else thinks. What do you think?”. It changed everything. And you know what I think? Boobs are fucking amazing! Small, big, breast feeding or not. Real, mastectomy or redone. Saggy, perky, perfect or not. Rock that shit. 🖤 My body and my boobs have changed a lot over my 35 years on this earth and they will change again. Somedays I’m perfectly content and somedays I'm not. The difference is that my opinion is the only one I truly hear now - the only one that matters to me now when I look in the mirror. #thisonesforme #theboobbookproject @theboobbook

Happy International Women's Day 🚺. Let's be honest here... Women do great things every damn day. More like every second but I'll let that go for now 😉. #internationalwomensday is so important, especially with the changes happening in our world today. We have come along way but we have so much further to go. My hope is to inspire women to keep going, to not give up and to keep pushing. To inspire men to join in, to speak up and out for the girls and women in your life, to help facilitate the change that is so needed. We can't do it without your support. For the LBGTQ community, this is for you also! Equality is for everyone!

Yes, I'm still working with all that wonderful fibre goodness but since the 2016 election, the Women’s March, #metoo , #timesup , #theboobbookproject my heart has been bursting at the seams and I just can’t keep it in anymore. I am reviving a project I started years ago for myself. It's all about self-love and self-confidence.
