Have we considered that between Ilya Slavanov and Mr. Autism 3000 this is probably how they look to the outside world even when they're as happy as can be 😭
I think it’s so funny many of us that 70’s show fanfic writers agree we would get rid of Kelso as a character on the show yet in are fanfics he’s usually the main plot device XD
more doodles ! some of them recs, some of them just personal ones (i added alternative text to all of them, those with the caption between "" were the requests ^^)
I also have a Bear Rug(ish) that I enjoy petting! The bear, Herbie, is mounted the wall. He's a valued member of the family, and you can stroke him gently as you traverse the stairs (which I think Shane also enjoy)
obsessed with this!! #myshane love to pet the rug and traverse the stairs
gay scott hunter in the brooklyn art gallery: they’re going to kill me for talking to another man
shane hollander in his fortress of isolation: nobody will shoot me with a gun for being gay in my canadian mansion, because they can’t, because i am off the grid
ilya rozanov [thick russian accent]: i am going to live forever and never die and if i die who gives a fuck theyre pussies for killing me honestly
TRANS DARRY MY BELOVED!!!!!! MY ANGSTY LITTLE GUY WHO COMMITS FRAUD!!!!!!
woah guys who said that. n e ways.
this is tulsa, 1967. and theres just fuck all to be learned about gender and transness, so to be clear: darry does not consider himself to be trans. no one knows that's a thing for basically another two years. no one really knows what going on, that includes Darry.
darry's transition was less of a transition and more of a... collection of traits that led up to high school
he started wearing boys clothes, mostly because he wanted to help his dad on roofing sites, the little osha violation, and because frills and pink are not exactly greaser
his parents called him dar anyways, so going by dar or darry was easy.
in the summer he was 13, he cut all his hair clean off. his parents were a little mortified, but took it in stride, albeit with some mild confusion. they assumed he'd just grow it back, didn't say anything when it stayed short
when people assumed he was a boy, he didn't correct them. his brothers noticed, and followed suit. they considered it a kind of inside joke, i guess, and it spread to the gang.
suddenly, two-bit's siblings knew darry as the third curtis brother
the summer he was 14, going to high school, Dallas appeared. Being from the streets of new york, he's the only person who actually has a concept of transness
He asks if Darry is short for Darrel, like his father. Darry says yes.
Later that day, he offers to take the high school registration paperwork out of his mother's hands. Darrel Shaynne Curtis Jr. is what he writes as his name.
Suddenly, all his teachers and classmates call him Darry, ask him if he's new in town. If he's trying out for any sports. He wasn't planning on it, of course, but he knows he's got a decent arm from throwing a football around with Daddy. Football is a no-go, but he makes the cut for centerfielder, and he's shortstop by sophomore spring. His parents go to every game.
They're calling him head boy. Prom king.
There's a scout at one of his games, encourages him to apply for a scholarship at University of Oklahoma. The name thing poses an issue--this isn't some podunk high school in the Tulsa suburbs that won't look twice.
They don't have the money anyway, but UO lets him defer a couple semesters. His dad's so proud. First Curtis to go to college. First Curtis man to graduate high school.
Do you think Shane ever comes home with Ilya from a long day of practice and his brain is a little scrambled because it's full of plays and strategy and how to tighten up their passes. So when Ilya hands him a ginger ale and says he's going to order in something for dinner, Shane's like, "Sounds good. Thanks, bro." And then as he realises what he's said, he's like, "Shit, I mean—"
"Bro? BRO?" says Ilya, his hands on his hips. "My name is Baby, or 'Love-Of-My-Life', or 'Beloved Husband', or 'Rozanov' if I'm in trouble. Just like you are now, Hollander."
And that's all the warning Shane has before he's tackled to the couch, and Ilya's kissing him relentlessly all over his face and neck, more to tickle him than anything. In between all the kisses, Ilya is like, "What do you say, Hollander? Do I have to keep helping you remember my name?"
And Shane's laughing so hard he's crying like "No, no, I'm sorry, baby! I'm sorry! I'll never call you bro again." And finally Ilya stops and presses one last kiss to his lips, this one softer and sweeter.
"Okay, good. Now let's get some dinner, bro."
And Shane rolls his eyes, but he leans up to get another kiss from Ilya.
