JA: For anybody who loved the first two seasons, I think it’s harder to understand that a show can be so confident in its subjectivity. I had so many questions leveled at me about Louis being a liar and unreliable. The strength of this show is that you’re getting inside the experience of these really complex characters, and that is gonna take you on a different journey each time. If we’re lucky enough to do it again, I’m sure that will continue. There’s a deep subjectivity to the show, and that’s a rare thing in a lot of mainstream storytelling now. It’s something to be celebrated, and people will have a stronger concept of that now at the end of this season than they did in the beginning. SR: If we are to continue as The Vampire Chronicles or The Immortal Universe or whatever the show is titled, it will be really fun to go back and reexamine the story through multiple perspectives because there are multiple perspectives, particularly as we move into the next book. For us as actors, that is probably the most fun thing. The fact that we get to reexamine the characters and have something slightly different to do and change and develop — I couldn’t thank the stars enough for being trapped in a long-running television contract with so much freedom and change, with so much potential built into it. It changes all the time. And the audiences will change too; they get that opportunity.
