Hmmmmmmmm, Let's see... what can I write about myself for the description part of this tumblr account. Well to start off, I am a Canon fanboy and a total noob for Nikon (that is for sure hahaha). I like taking still life photography and try to make them come to life (sort of). These pictures are all taken by me :) Hope you guys enjoy seeing the world through my lens :)))

Brunei. 30 June, 2015

My first ever bike shoot! WOOTS! Yesterday my brother asked me whether I have any time to do a photo shoot for a friend of his who is trying to sell his Cafe Racer bike online. After checking my schedule, I managed to find a slot. We decided to do the shoot on a Tuesday morning with an abandoned house located a few minutes from my home as the background for the bike. After roughly about 2 hours of shooting, we finally call it a wrap! *phewh* The following day, I went through the images and processed a selected few and passed the pictures to his friend. 

Since it was my first ever bike shoot, there were moments where I did not know what to do, it’s all trial and error and I tried my best to find the most flattering side of the bike but I will polish my skills until I can produce better photographs for the next time a shoot like this happens again :D

Indonesia. Bogor. 4th June, 2015.

After a long 3 hour ride from Central Jakarta to Bogor, we finally arrived at Taman Safari, Indonesia. My first ever visit to a ZOO! YEAY! 

On our way up to Taman Safari, there were lots of vendors on the roadside selling carrots. Our driver asked us whether we wanted to buy some carrots to feed the animals later but we decided not to.

When we are about to reach the ticket selling area, the driver said to us “Nanti dik, biar gua ngomong dengan dia aja, kamu jangan ngomong apa apa, loghat kamu kan lain, jika gua ngomong, gua dapat beli ticket lokal untuk semua.” So we kept quiet, not a single word and we managed to buy the tickets at the local price! Which is half the international price (300K rp), SWEET!

Basically, in Taman Safari, we tour around the zoo in a vehicle and no one is allowed to leave the vehicle at any time. Although, you are allowed to feed the roaming animals walking around the zoo, it was tons of fun seeing the animals walking around and not in cages. We had our car window down all the way, and the animals would just stick their head into the car hoping to get a carrot. *Sorry~ we didn’t get any XD*

I’m lucky I wasn’t sitting anywhere near the window or the animals may just have stole my first kiss :P We then arrive at where the tigers are kept, we are told to roll up our window and not to roll them down at any time, for the obvious reasons. 

As you go deeper, there is actually a theme park with some more animals such as jaguars and leopards, kept in their own enclosure and this is where we came across two majestic white tiger just chilling in their enclosure. I was amazed at how big they really are. I mean, look at their paws, they are double my palm size! BUT most importantly, baby kangaroos are jumping around and I managed to touch one. WHEE! and that’s one life goal down, next is a panda :3 

Would I visit Taman safari the next time I visit Indonesia? DEFINITELY! This time I’ll buy the carrots and do things that I didn’t do the previous trip.

Indonesia. Bandung. 7th June, 2015. It was around 5 am? I cant really remember but what I do remember is that I was sleeping soundly in my hotel room (The Luxton Hotel, Bandung) when the event’s (UOB Heartbeat Run) woke me up. Disturbed by the sound, I went to the window and peeked outside. 

There were a few people walking around in blue shirts but their numbers soon multiplied. Within just 30 mins to 45 mins, the streets in front of the hotel was packed with participants of the event. At first I chose to ignore the event and watched TV in my room but I remembered that I bought a battery grip for my 70D earlier during our trip and decided to test it out. 

So I took a shower, grabbed my gears, grabbed the room card key and went downstairs. It was my first time photographing an event but since no one knew me, I did not feel any pressure and managed to enjoy my shoot.

Apparently there were street performers performing on the streets but I missed the first round, the second round consists of a group of performing a “lion dance”. That aside, there were also street jugglers and clowns on unicycles! :3 I’ve never personally seen anyone on a unicycle before so that is definitely an amazing experience for me. The participants were categorized into several groups and each groups have their own performance and dresses and one by one, each group performed and began their journey. 

After an hour of hanging around the area, the police started to remove the barrier to allow the cars to pass by and that is the sign that you should go back now. Indonesians roads are a bit dangerous.. Better safe than sorry. So I head back to my room and access my photos.

Well, all and all, it was an amazing first time experience. It made me understand that street photography can be fun as well and I would do it again if given a chance :D.

A bunch of monkeys were jumping here and there today around the campus, both BIG and small. Luckily, I have my telephoto lens and decided to take some picture. Need more practice with outdoor photography :P nonetheless, it’s always fun taking photos of monkeys :3

Last Saturday, Mar 28, I was given an opportunity to work take photos for the live social media coverage of Mary Poppins Musical. It was tons of fun and at the same time, tiring. Since it is a live coverage, I practically have to run back and forth to our station and pass the images to the editor to be edited and posted up. This is Mr. Banks, Mrs.Banks, Jane and Michael.

DKM restaurant invited us over for the introduction of their new menu, "Andong Jjimdak" . The dish was prepared by the friendly always smiling chef, Huang bo who came alllllllllll the way from korea [Busan]. No idea where that is but yea, KOREA! Won't lie, when we are asked to try his new dish, it was spicy, well, for me at least cause I don't eat much spicy foods. 

But it was good nontheless, we are told that the dish comes in 3 levels of spicyness *_* sooooooo, for the spicy food lovers out there, GO FOR LEVEL 3 and try, ahahhaa.

Yesterday, I went to bandar for the "century run" event. Pretty satisfied with my time considering that I have no training prior to the event. I won't lie, I was gasping for air like a dying fish when I actually reached the finish line. 

After a few mins of resting, it's street photography time >;) so I walked around bandar, through those dodgy alleys, and then i came across this beautiful walkway, I feel like i just have to take photo of it and so I did. It was a great Sunday. :) .
