Sometimes I forget that whump isn’t actually a huge thing outside of this specific community. I was on tiktok and saw a comment on a random marvel edit saying that they thought Bucky looked hot when he suffered, and all of the replies was like “wow, so you condone SA and torture? You’re so messed up and terrible etc”. And I was just thinking ‘these people would spontaneously combust on the spot if they ever came across the whump community’.
I had a dream last night that was kinda hilarious in hindsight.
So, at some point there was this guy being kidnapped. His hands were bound and some fabric was stuffed in his mouth and kept inside with duct tape. The kidnapper went on this whole evil speech or something and the ‘camera’ kept cutting between them and the guy they kidnapped. Every single time the camera faced the captive, the gag was different.
Like, at one point the tape would be gone and it would just be the ball of fabric, sometimes it would be an otm gag, sometimes the gag would be completely missing. It was a whole continuity nightmare.
Whenever whumpee is done being tortured for the day, they are always taken back to their cell by the same guard or servant.
As time goes on, whumpee begins to feel safe with that person, because whenever they show up, that’s when they know the torture is over. Perhaps they’ll even bandage their wounds sometimes. Maybe this servant feels guilty about what whumpee is going through, maybe they feel indifferent or resentful towards them. Either way, the servant still becomes their favourite person in this hell.
Does whumper end up finding out about this? Do they replace the servant with someone else just to mess with whumpee? Or, even worse, do they make the servant participate in torturing whumpee?
Jude wasn't the first machine that Kael was emotionally attached to.
When he was first becoming acquainted with the undercity he was pretty much homeless. He was staying at one of those coffin hotels. He built Kitby out of stuff he found in the trash, its only function was to follow him, and to make a noise so he knew it was around. One day the hunger won, and Kael found out how easy it is to become the kind of person who betrays a friend.
I don’t know what it is about the Linked Universe fandom that draws in all the whump lovers, but what I do know is that the whump over there is effective as hell.
I read Deltora Quest as a child and one of the books has this little side quest where they meet a sweet old couple who are secretly monsters that eat people and use illusions to disguise themselves.
And the have a cute dog bed in their kitchen and then later when they break the illusion turns out the 'dog' was just a guy who was from a species they thought was too skinny to be worth eating so they keep him as a slave/pet.
There's an anime that was on back when I was a teen too! The protagonists get captured and tied up a LOT in the anime (never read the book so IDK if that's the same as in the anime!)
Sooo.... I wanna make a whump event. I know I only have (checks notes) 35 followers but it'd be so cool to just, have a whump event anyways. And I'm gonna participate in the event, so hopefully it'll help with my reintroduction of Katya!
Unlike other events where there's a set prompt per day, and you must post one thing per day, this event will be more casual.
The event goal is to write 10 little things, each from my whump wheel. The deadline for completion is my birthday- January 12.
Use the hashtag #leaderwhumpwheel for the challenge so I can see your writing. Also I'd love to be tagged in anything, but this is optional! However if you tag me there's a higher chance of me reblogging it :D
RULES
1. Absolutely no AI. I'd rather you not be anywhere near me if you support or use AI, in fact.
2. Each writing should be at least 100 words. There is no upper limit.
3. NSFW, gore, and sensitive subjects are allowed. Just make sure to tag everything properly.
4. You can use the whump wheel anytime, including after this event has ended. But it won't count towards the event unless it's posted before January 12.
5. You can post multiple things in a day, or skip days. As long as 10 things are entered before January 12, you're a completionist!
Don't mess with "his" Jazz or else…
People always like to learn the hard way.
Finally. A project that began back in June-July and finally it's done.
Had tons of fun making this.
The largest sequences I've done so far. To the point I can't upload the whole thing here either. So be sure to check part two.
I don't know if this is a common autistic experience but I don't cry when I'm in pain--I do scream--but I only cry when I'm emotionally upset.
Give this kind of trait to your autistic protagonists!
Crying instead of speaking
Being silent and unreactive during questioning and then suddenly they start banging their palm into their forehead. It's the only communication they can do when they're stressed.
Characters that can't scream
Characters that can't speak below a near-shout
Characters that can only talk in terms of their special interest and when questioned about something else, they vaguely mention their special interest again, looking confused
Autistic meltdowns. Character gets overwhelmed and starts crying and screaming or gets angry and fights back.
Character stims in some way with their hands or other part of their body, to which aggravates the other person if they don't know their autism or just doesn't care.
They go nonverbal when stressed, or even dissociate.
Character is unable to process the horrible thing that happened to them and the emotions that come with it, and it appears as if they don’t care. Even the character themself thinks they don’t care, because they don’t feel what they’d expect to feel in that situation. An hour later, everything slams into them at once, leading to a huge meltdown.

The room was freezing. Concrete floor, unplastered walls. No windows.
Nothing but a tortured vampire lying stomach-first on the blood-stained floor. The very one who’s assaulted her only a few days earlier.
Audrey was grateful that the single lightbulb dangling from the ceiling was dim. She couldn’t imagine how her brain would’ve responded if it had initially seen…this with full light.
“It’s him,” she said quietly to Laura, who’d been assessing the situation with calculated calm. “The vampire who hurt me.”
“Oh,” was all she said. Audrey could tell she wanted to say more, but struggled against it.
“I think we should help him. I…don’t want him to suffer any more,” she said honestly.
Laura relaxed. “Oh, good. Let’s help him, then.”
They both stood there, looking over the naked, mutilated vampire. His head was turned away from them, cheek down on the cement. He seemed to be unconscious, or at least wasn’t responding to his new visitors. His hands were staked together behind his lower back. And so were his arms. And his feet. And legs. Thick, sharpened wood had been speared through his limbs in a dozen different spots, completely immobilizing the vampire.
And, all over his skin, were little red cuts, scattered and shallow like a 3-year-old had stolen a pair of scissors.
Feeling more than a little overwhelmed, Audrey whispered, “Should we…I don’t know, call for backup? Or at least take him to a hospital?”
Laura shook her head sympathetically, keeping her voice low. “Guild rules. No medical care for unguilded supernaturals. And…I don’t think my colleagues would treat him much better, either. They’d trace him back to those earlier assaults and execute him. Unless that’s the plan…?”
“No, no. We’ll figure it out.”
“Okay, then. I’m, um, going to look for some supplies… and tools,” Laura breathed, stepping out of the room.
Nashing her teeth together, Audrey looked closer at the man; she could see how the ends of the stakes, which stuck out a couple inches from his body, were wrapped in barbed wire. Silver barbed wire, she presumed by the color. Just in case he mustered the strength to rip a limb free, which it seemed like he’d attempted, since there were bloodstains and bits of skin stuck to the wires.
Audrey cringed; there was even more silver barbed wire, this time wrapped around his face. Several strands of it had been looped from mouth to the back of his head, forming a grisly sort of gag. Her feet carried her over to the other side of him, crouching down by his head. She sucked in a startled breath.
He was awake.
Eyes bright with pain met hers, and he stiffened. He inhaled sharply through his nostrils, and suddenly his face crumpled in terror. Whimpering against the barbed wire burrowing and burning against his lips, the vampire clenched his eyes shut, tremors starting to build in his body.
Was that…recognition? He sniffed me, she realized. He probably doesn’t recognize my face, but my smell… her thought trailed off as she watched tears drip from his eyelashes.
“Oh goodness, no. I’m not going to hurt you,” she soothed, letting her hand smooth the hair off his forehead. He flinched away from her touch, and she drew back her hand to her knee. Her heart squeezed painfully in her chest.
“I mean it. I don’t like what you did to me, but I’m not some sort of sadist. You don’t deserve this.”
The vampire now shot her an incredulous look, painfully shimmying himself away. Something on his ear caught the light…an earring? It looked very similar to the style that the guilded vampires wore, except this one looked…her chest ached even more. Silver. A mockery of the guilded version, not only inferior, but excruciating. Laura had once told her that for a vampire, touching silver felt like a human touching a hot pan.
Audrey tried not to think about having a hot pan attached to her ears.
“Hey…” she called patiently. “I’m just here to help you. My sister is here too, and we want to free you.”
A few more seconds passed before the vampire quit struggling, a pair of midnight-dark irises fixing on her. Waiting.
“I’d like to get the, um, wires off first. The wires off your face. My sister will be back with some tools, and then we’ll start, okay?”
It didn’t quite look like he believed her, but just then, Laura kicked the door back open, arms full of what looked like a bunch of tools, a first aid kit, and a camping lantern. Setting them all on the ground, she first flicked the lantern switch on, casting the room in bright LED light. Blinking, she turned to Audrey.
“Found some stuff!” Her sister squinted down at the vampire. “Oh my gosh his poor face.” Picking up a pair of gardening gloves and wire cutters, she flung the gloves at Audrey and knelt by the vampire, the steely head of the cutters nearly to his cheek.
Unsurprisingly, he freaked.
He instinctively tried using his arms to defend himself, a knee-jerk reaction straight into barbed wire. The vampire screeched from behind the gag, bloody lips parting slightly as he yanked his arms out of the barbs and back towards each other. Excruciatingly, he drew his impaled knees under him, rocking and grinding his forehead into the cement. His keening chilled the dank air.
“I…” Laura trailed off, likely feeling the same sense of horror steamrolling over Audrey.
It was almost too much. The cuts. The stakes. The barbed wire. The silver.
I’ll sell him off to a business that pays very well for handsome, broken vampires.
Broken. Not-officer Banks had wanted him broken. Audrey was sure that if she hadn’t come, that would’ve been his fate. Broken and…She swallowed down the bile, letting the pity in instead. No one deserved that.
“Please,” she whispered, sitting herself by his head. “We won’t hurt you. We’re just trying to rescue you.” Her hand slowly patted the top of his bare back, where no stakes or cuts were in the way. He winced again, but she continued rubbing softly, hoping he would understand.
“You’ll be safe with us, I promise.”
And just when it seemed like he was actually listening, the vampire began shaking under her hand. A loud inhale, followed by rapid little exhales came from his nose, and it kind of sounded like crying.
Ah.
Laura must’ve caught on too, and, unable to resist the mother hen genes she’d inherited, reached out her own hand to stroke the top of his hair, carefully avoiding the barbs below.
“Oh sweetie, you’re gonna be okay. We’ve got you.”
Cold skin beneath her hand, she felt the gradual shift, the slight leaning into her touches. An inkling of trust.
Minutes later, when the crying stopped, the vampire raised his head, giving a red-eyed, determined look towards the wire cutters left on the floor. He met both of their eyes and nodded.
