ik analyzing dsmp by seasons is ultimately meaningless but it makes me happy and this makes everything work out SOO MUCH BETTER

It makes the hiatus/slow down they've taken make a lot more sense too.

But narratively it makes sense.

Wilbur's Revival was teased during the Season 2 Finale.

It was the reason they didn't just kill Dream.

It came up again at the pivotal Tommy's death in the prison moment.

Revival of one of the perma dead was a plot point for the start of Quackity's S3 story.

The back half off the season becomes Tommy trying to stop anyone from getting revived.

There are also other stories that naturally conclude during this time (Eggpire / Hannah, The Hotel, so on).

The revival stream had all the elements of a finale -- characters coming together to resolve a problem, final death/exit for a character, resolution of a promised plot point, set up for future storylines.

My main take away from Quackity’s stream is that we’ve been wrong this whole time. C!Tommy doesn’t possess CC!Tommy, the content creators possess the characters in the SMP from time to time, and C!Quackity is finally banishing this dinosaur nuggie mother fucker from their realm forever. Good for him.
