I amn snurt. Thisâs just a place for me to enjoy the things I like, be that fandoms or art or something other. Here's my sideblog with my creations. And here's my Ao3
Hey howdy, welcome to my house! You're welcome to climb through the window and listen to my midnight rambling. Poking me every once in a while is also gladly received, as is chiming in with your own thoughts. I'm a fairly sociable creature so do feel free to reach out ^_^
You can call me snurt. I am an adult and I will not be disclosing my actual age. This blog is vastly SFW, though. Here's what you can expect from this blog:
I've got a bunch of tags... stick around long enough and you might figure 'em out ehehehe. Mainly tho you'll find my mumblings and thoughts in #snurt speaks, prose and other cool words I reblog in #poetry in a sense, and most other things under the corresponding fandom tag.
Speaking of, I'm in like a million and one fandoms at this point, and there's no telling when one fixation will die and another take its place. Or when I'll stumble on something new that ignites a fire! But just to name a few of the heavy hitters in no particular order: Call of Duty, Transformers, Undertale, Hollow Knight, LOTR, Hermitcraft, Leverage, etc, etc, and so on and so forth
I do enjoy to draw and write, and even occasionally post it on here, which you may find under #snurt arts and #snurt writes, respectively, but tbh for those you'll be better off just going to my kitchen sideblog: @snurtsnurtcreations. I also have an ao3 you can find here.
Fair warning: I'm a pretty big bio nerd, so you will be seeing a lot of things concerning science, fish, bugs, microbes, and the like on here. Also a lot of plants.
And uhhh anything else is just like. Reblogs of stuff I see and think are funny/interesting/cool. As well as a bunch of pretty pictures and cool art pieces.
There ya have it. You have hereby been warned about the contents of this blog. Continue yonward at your own risk, dear traveler ;)
Btw the heat *is* why we see water that's not really there, but mirages aren't exactly hallucinations so much as optical illusions:
It's just the changing density of the air refracting light weirdly, so it looks like there's a reflection of the sky on the ground, which our brains often interpret as a pool of water. It can also happen upwards instead of downwards, especially at sea, when the air is much colder near the surface and a warm front appears above it:
Which, btw, is one possible explanation for ghost ship sightings, so that's fun :)
I just mowed my 88 year old papas lawn and when i came back inside he lifted my arm to reveal a bug that was attempting to hitchhike into the house. At which point he said "you will NEVER escape my garden." And flicked it back into the grass
âhey did you kiss the brick before you threw itâ âprev so trueâ âEXACTLY!!!â âI am always saying thisâ âop im gonna kill myselfâ âdont talk to me im unwell about thisâ âagskhksj!!!"
No matter how good your writing is, there will always be someone who doesnât like it
Do NOT change the story to make it palatable to them. They will never like it. There is nothing you can do to make them like it
But there are so many people out there who will like it. And if you tone down the things that make other people not like it, youâre also toning down the things that make these people really like it
Would you rather have a story thatâs loved and hated, or a story that nobody finds notable, and thus is easily forgotten?
Donât tone yourself down to make people like it â tone yourself up. Make it so unapologetically you that instead of merely disliking it, they absolutely hate it
Because at least then youâve left an impression on them, and how your story made them feel will stick with them, whether they like it or not
