She’s the on air talent/reporter. That means she is in maybe one or two preproduction meetings, and then gets a script to read on filming day. All the B-roll, research, background interviews, and writing is done by the producers and APs on staff. It’s a full time job, and especially in the weeks leading up to a special, you’ll catch the team working in the newsroom until well after midnight.

There would be no time for touring around, no matter who your bf is.

There’s nothing wrong with her job—I enjoy working with the on air reporters. But pretending she’s making a documentary is just silly. She’s reading a prewritten script for a news special.

Caught By the Sun by metal_eye / @metal-eye (M, 19K) Sometimes you just stumble on a fic that moves you deeply and makes you feel a lot and sits with you after you’ve finished it. This was one of those fics for me. It’s beautifully written in a quiet, poetic way. It’s thoughtful, and intimate, and full of memories that are both melancholy and beautiful in all the right ways and at all the right times. And it’s a fic that’s not been read nearly enough. High School/growing up together

Like An Endless Summer by objectlesson (E, 87K) There are so many thing I loved about this fic from the summer camp setting, to the trope of Harry returning to camp older and hotter, to the way the other boys filter in and out of the story, to the way the author writes the emotions and overwhelm, to the hot af smut. It’s just a great read (and there’s 6K smutty follow up fic as a special treat). IIRC, Louis is 20, Harry is 18 / Summer camp counsellors (this fic has been deleted, link is to a download)

Good Enough to Eat by objectlesson (E, 7K) This author always does such a good job with depicting young, queer love and the way their characters experience the overwhelm of realizing they’re not straight, realizing the’ve met their Person, pining, and giving in. I love a lot of their fics, but I think this is my favorite of them. (this fic has been deleted, link is to a download)

Atlas At Last by louisandthealien (M, 83K) I swear I would read this author’s grocery list. I just love everything they write. This one is a 1970s coming of age road trip fic. I really enjoyed the OT5 friendships, excellent dialogue, and Harry and Louis discovering themselves and each other. 

You Drive Me Crazy (I Just Can’t Sleep) by objectlesson (E, 19K) My favorite fics from this author are their X-Factor era ones. They do such a good job of capturing teenage lust and overwhelm and their characterizations feel so solid. Sleepwalking Louis can’t seem to stay out of Harry’s bed. Harry really doesn’t mind. (this fic has been deleted, link is to a download)

Born to Make You Happy by objectlesson (E, 26K) This author writes some of the best xfactor canon fic out there. The way they write Harry is in this one gives you such a real sense of him in all his awkwardness and intense infatuation for Louis. That Harry would do anything to make Louis notice him. Even if that means embarrassing himself. (this fic has been deleted, link is to a download)

Taste of a Poison Paradise by objectlesson (E, 10K) Just gorgeous writing, sweet and sexy af. (this fic has been deleted, link is to a download)

You Don't Need Me To Show The Way by LoadedGunn (E, 7K) Not really a first time fic, but it’s canon, Harry’s first time riding Louis, and it’s such a sexy fic, I’m throwing it in the mix. Enjoy! Harry is 17, Louis is 19.

Unbelievers by isthatyoularry (E, 137K) Oooh, this one is so good. High school Au, footie, enemies with benefits, so much sexual tension (and just tension), and complex characters. Another one I’ve read more than once.

Nicotine by KrisStylinson (E, 32K) “Bad Boy Harry” who really is a good guy. This was written at a time when there were a lot of fics with this characterization of Harry. I was pretty new to reading fic when I read this one, so my memory of it could be really off, but I liked it a lot back then –– tagging it as having really good smut and great banter. 

Dream Awake by protagonist_m (M, 31K) This fic…I just….the writing is so lovely. It’s just one of those fics where I had to slow down and really savor the writing. And “hazy” is really the perfect descriptor as it drifts between memories and current moments. Link is to a download. 

Learning to Breathe by youcomecrash (E, 111K) Uni football player Harry and Louis. I read this a long time ago and I’m afraid my notes only say “ good angst, good first time smut” 🙈Past me is not very helpful.

something so precious about this by champagneboyband (E, 4K) this is just endearing and awkward and so well written. I love how much you get a sense of their connection and their inexperience and how much they care for each other in just a few thousand words.

2. THAT VMAS MOMENT

my annoying ass will never (NEVER) shut up about this.

you'll find me in the apocalypse years from now incoherently babbling about this moment to anyone who's willing to listen.

this moment is basically a ten second long microcosm of the ziam story: them being in their little bubble of quiet understanding and a shared language only they're privy to.

the fact that zayn turned to him as soon as they won. the fact that the rest of the boys had already stood up for the handshakes and hugs, but the two of them were so engrossed in each other they didn't notice (or didn't care). just them two. the fact that zayn felt the need to shove his entire BEING into liam's. if the resolution had been better these stills could have passed as renaissance paintings. seeing this moment feels wrong because it just feels so PRIVATE and i feel like a VOYEUR.

anyway.

there aren't a lot of songs in the 1d discography that had only zayn and liam (out of the boys) as co-writers. on top of that, there's the fact that soul provider was one of the first songs they had written together when they were starting off.

liam said working on stuff like that helped them realize that their musical tastes were quite similar. he said that writing together sort of set the early groundwork for what they wanted to do later on down the line. SOUL. SOUL PROVIDER. SOULMATES MORE LIKE.

HE REMEMBERED HOW IT WENT. AFTER A WHOLE ASS DECADE. that's probably one of my favourite things about it.

soul provider, for me, is like a centuries old manuscript lost to time. this integral piece of their musical journey, from their earlier years. we'll never get to hear it; and as much as i hate that (ziam rnb duo crumbs we'll never get), it makes this even more special to me.

all of these moments, in one way or another, are representations of their connection (the SERENADES), their quiet intimacy (the VMAS), and just. how crucial they are to each other (SOUL GODDAMN PROVIDER). if real life was a novel, i would analyze the shit out of these two.

Drabble #2 🍰

These drabbles are set in a universe where One Direction consists of omega Louis and his slightly skittish band of betas that he mercilessly terrorises with his sinister cuteness. They all find him a bit unfathomable and unpredictable and feel keeping him happy is the safest option!

Cake

Sharing is .. safer

Harry sits on the couch in the bus den and sighs contentedly as he shuffles his bum into the cushions, making himself comfy and picking up the fork from the plate he's holding with the large slice of chocolate cake on it.

Moaning in appreciation, he digs his fork into the deep butter icing and down through the layers of sponge and cream and lifts the cake-covered fork towards his mouth.

With a whooshing sound, suddenly a warm, slightly sweaty body, is pressed close against his left side, soft breaths puffing alarmingly close to his cheek. Harry sits very still, but carefully looks out of the corner of his eye towards the person plastered against him.

Louis is very, very close. As he sees Harry's eyes move he gives him a blinding smile, with all his teeth showing. He seems harmless, but Harry remains still, fork hovering in the air in front of him, cake delicately balanced.

Harry watches as Louis' eyes drift down to Harry's fork, then back up to meet Harry's eyes again. Still smiling, perhaps even wider, he does this twice more. Harry looks at his fork with the cake miraculously still attached, then cuts just his eyes back to Louis. Serious, slightly narrowed blues meet nervous greens.

Moving only his arm, Harry carefully moves the fork with its precious cake portion in Louis' direction. With a tiny hum, Louis politely bites the cake off of the fork. Harry keeps doing this until half the cake is gone.

Finally, with more humming and some satisfied lip smacking noises, Louis nestles his head against Harry's shoulder and hugs close to him, now content to allow Harry to finish the rest of the cake in peace.

Everyone is overreacting once again out of context of the podcast over on twitter mess😭

I only trust the people who actually went and saw it and reported back on it and not of those who repost or make posts about it without actually knowing the entire context or quote

Like for example people were so upset and mad about him apparently saying he’s in love with Z and how she inspired the album but that’s not accurate at all he never name dropped or mention her at all he only mentioned about being in love and how that affects his writing which we know who he actually been in love with in the past 15 years. He’s actually clever of not actually name dropping her.

I’m just very happy that he didn’t do another Larry denial or talked shit about Larries as that was one to the biggest concerns about the podcast. It’s promo season guys… not everything will be the 100% truth about the album or his life especially for the media

And from what I seen 90% of the podcast is about Grief and his career.. a little sprinkle about Babygate and the tiniest mention about being in love (with H obviously) and mentions of Cowbell but it’s not that bad in the bigger picture of what could’ve have been if we gotten a entire Larry denial or another shit show about Larries or a entire speech about the stunts.

I’m personally focusing on what the boys have been showing us and not what the media and PR are shoving in our faces. Can’t wait for the album and how in love and sappy he is about Harry for the millionth time 😌
